I haven't done a strategy guide before, hopefully this covers everything and is helpful and professional:

Qualifying: Medium Tyres
Lap 1-10: Medium (if you're starting deeper in the pack, flipping it round and using hards for the start might work better)
Lap 11-12: Hard
Lap 13-15: Medium, The second change costs time but...
Lap 14: Boost Lap
Lap 15: DONUTS!!!!

The SF cars are my least favorite of the open-wheelers in this game, so of course PD decides to use ONLY the SF cars whenever we get a Gr. X Daily. The only "open-wheel" car that they've bothered using for Dailies recently besides either of the SF cars is the RB Jr. While the Jr. is fun to drive, when was the last time they used the Mercedes F1 car for anything? The F1500T was used in last season's FIA Nation's championship, but we haven't had a daily with them in over a year and a half.

Since I'm relatively quick around RBR, I might give this race a try anyway. Then again I'm also quick at Spa, but was dog slow in the SF race there.

I like the variety this week... these all seem like something new to me. Not sure how much I'll get in, or whether I'll be super competitive, but glad to see the changeups.

Figured wrongly that Brands would be another FF slog-fest (though I usually am pretty handy in those combos...) but the MR2 provides for a new challenge.

The Gr3 cars at the Sardegna layout is definitely something different, and as Race B's go, definitely a change of pace.

And I always like racing the SF cars... even though my pace is awful and my track record at RBR is bad. I may try it once or twice, but don't think I'll want to throw away that much DR by getting clobbered each time. That said, with the mandatory pit stop for the tires, might be less carnage than usual.

I have OT mapped to R2 on my T300, easiest button to press while driving. L2 is look back, so I can’t change that one. :)

I do the same on my T300. That’s the configuration for the overtake button in F1 2020, too. So I just copied that.

Good to know. I couldn’t figure out what the UI was telling me about OT in my qualy laps this morning, so I was trying to hold the button down the whole time because I thought it was unlimited. It didn’t dawn on me since I kept improving each lap. Haha, I’m an idiot.
 
Yeah. Figuring out OT is a bit silly as I was having trouble sorting out a solid lap so was wishing I could use it. Then when I got to the race I completely blanked on the thing. Could have saved me from a couple of annoying corners where the first person just got a nose in and I was stuck fighting the train for a few corners.

I am.itching to give the MR2 a goz but I do love me some SF races.
 
Never have done Sardegna before, and my GOD!! What a piece of crap track. No flow whatsoever. Think I'm gonna see what race A is about, and then maybe click off more of the driving missions I have neglected for months. Sheesh

Me too... I had first mapped it on Triangle...

But this one time I was starting a race and I hold the car using the handbrake (which is mapped to X) and not the normal brakes, so as I released the handbrake to immediately press Triangle (that's my starting procedure, release the handbrake and use the boost feature), I ended up accidentally tapping Square (which is my downshift button) and put the car in reverse....

You can imagine what happened afterwards...

Minor question: is heel-toe shifting (or its equivalent with a DS4) beneficial in Gran Turismo?

GTS doesn't let you use a manual clutch at all so there's no sense in actually heel-toe shifting (one foot on the clutch, one foot operates both brake and throttle).

In some cars and situations it's useful to blip the throttle on downshifts to keep the car steadier, but there's no one-size-fits-all here. In any case you can do this perfectly well with left-foot braking. No need for heel-toeing unless that's what you're used to and it's actually faster and smoother for you to do it that way.

SF races are possibly the best drug this game has to offer. So many of us are addicted.

I could only imagine this being possible if the game acknowledges the clutch pedal. Personally, I'm not sure that I could wrap my head around the idea of pushing the clutch pedal for DRS. :boggled:
