Wow. Jumped in the alt account(B/S) to try the RAce C from pitlane. Set a high qualy time. Starts me 14/15. Enter pits and I rejoin 15/15 18 seconds behind.

A player get sspun at 130R and Now, it's 3-4 seconds ahead of me. I'm not trying to catch up. Setting 1:32s early on. Car ahead is maintsaining the 3 second gap. By Lap 6, I'm catching up. Easing off the throttle and still catching this player. By Lap 9, I am staying out of its draft. Moved to the right of the straight and I guess the plater thinks I'm trying to divebomb( I'm 2 seconds behind). So, they keep staying to the right to keep me from diving inside at T1.
A black GT-R that had pitted, catches up to us. I let it go by at T3. It's trying to pass the player ahead, but it's squeezing the black GT-R off track. They both get 2 seconds.

I pass them both and just continue driving. Car ahead is way ahead and 2 laps to go. That car gets loose at 130R. I move up to 11th and cross the line next lap.

Even at the back, people just can't race.

Might have lost my cool a few times today in Race B but I swear some of these folks would test the patience of Jesus. The amount of times I have spent grinding wall because some *expletive deleted* thinks coming across the entire width of the track on the straight in to pin you to the wall is valid race defence.

Been doing some Race C instead and mixed results. I tend to start at the back and some races I manage to make it to around 10th just by staying out of trouble while others I seem to be driving through treacle so stay at the back. I am still not comfortable with the track especially the climb through the corners leading up to the straight.

Oh well at least I am not being bashed into walls, every cloud and all that

Yeah I struggle with that last bit of track too, it's a pain cos I can catch people through the rest of the track and if I could just do that bit I'd get the tow and make places. Still practice is needed and it's a good race. Might go do track experience on this to see if it helps here.

EDIT: Well that didn't help much, the section I have trouble with in GR.2 was a cake walk in GR.3 Supra so I can do the corners OK, just not in those cars.

Just did a B and got to say, there is more variety in the normal TT fest. 12 from 16 Mcspeedies, makes for a boring race and really it's pretty boring anyway. Not much more interesting than an oval. Sticking to C's and hoping for bester races next week. A can still be fun, but the SR drops are too high and you can only ensure DR when your low.

Just been running some in the americas. Had a few clean race A, then went for race C to actually repair SR. Man it was carnage. Tried to take my time and stay away, but some people have no idea at all. Guy got a track limit penalty while ahead of me and for some reason blames me. Starts brake checking me like crazy. Wasn't ready for it so got a penalty. After serving our penalties they tried to run me off on the straight, but I back out. That's ok, I know how to deal with them.

It is just madness. A guy has a solid race going, coming to the final turn they have been closing on me as they pitted from well in front, but still 0.7 back. No idea, they just bomb away and tbone me. I manage to stay ahead as they get a penalty but ?!?!?

They thought anything goes in the final corner. Total crazies.

Yeah the first corner can be carnage, admittedly I've mucked up there too, and the bit after the chicane to the straight is treated like a mosh pit. Still it can be fun just trying to stay clean.

Well a new one just happened to me, I tried to race just now but every car (including mine) was stuck on the grid for me and the rolling start never began. I could hear engine noises every now and again so maybe it allowed others to start, who knows. I had to quit. :boggled:

:gtplanet::cheers:

There's a dude who shoved me into the pits at Tokyo East Outer Loop about a year ago.
I have his name written down. If I ever see him again, I won't give a damn what my rating is at the time, the walls will be coated in his blood.
Can't wait. :mischievous:
LOL............. i did that to someone on that track but going the opposite way but he deserved it kept pushing me wide at the hairpin before the run up to start finish. was not you i remember who it was that i did too because I got hate mail for like 3 days afterword. sorry it was done too you that does suck

Only 2 options are McLaren or Ford GT and I tried the Ford for several races and it just does not have the top end the MCLaren does. Everything else is a total waste of time.

Now, usually i'd have an issue with it but unlike the TT we neve really see the Mclaren so let it have it's week in the sun.

Fine, but with the TT you can take something else and beat it, it might be hard but it's doable, this is take the McSpeedy or lose. At the beginning of the week I was running the Mustang and doing OK, now it's pointless.

McLaren is a great car, it feels like i'm driving a real car, it is so realistic how it handles.
Tokyo is good for learning close racing, strict track limits and going for the flow tieing the sectors.
This week has been a much needed learning process for me. Not always fun tho, especially with my easy to blast temper.

The RX-V isn't pointless. The F1 doesn't pull away while I'm in the slipstream. I get next to it, but it doesn't leave me in the dust. I leave it in the dust from T1 to half distance before the final turns. It's got nothing in handling.

I've had players that try to keep up. It's cute. But the F1 can't brake late enough, turn tight enough or get on the power as early as the RX-V.
I've gapped it enough to not be a problem heading to the finish on the last lap.

Now, when the race starts, if knuckleheads would use their brakes, instead of using me as the brake, I'd have more wins than falling down the order.

I could turn a decent time to save my life in that car, well over a second slower than the McLaren for me. Maybe in the race it is better because to turn a fast lap in the mclaren you need to hang on for dear life, it is hairy stuff.

Looking to next week, has to be seaside for me and I feel we did this recently. Wasn't the Jag able to keep the FF brigade at bay?

edit: Just checked, was late October/eary november and we used mediums, set fastest time in the SHaguar.

No doubt about the qualy time. That's the purpose of the META. I'm all about the race pace. Not just the one lap. 👍

Race C looks really intriguing. They aren't going to break out the long boy for a 1 make of pain?

Would love to see it Gr C even though I think despite my love of Group C and the track I will take a while to catch up there.

I thought the car in front was the brakes

did we not just have Dragon trail seaside like a month or so ago gr4,

Any idea what the N100 will be? Something like the MX5 would be OK, but some cars won't do well at the corkscrew....mind you it'll be a pile up at the 2nd corner, by the time they get to the corkscrew it'll be the usual mosh pit.

A technical question. When I enter GT sport races sometimes I have one red bar for connectivity. I want to check my status *BEFORE* I join a lobby!

I know about the PS4 speed check. Not that useful - just provides up and down bandwidth.

I swear I used a Gran Turismo network checker and it utilized a five pointed pentagon and spider-like web to show status. I cannot find it anymore. Maybe I used it as part of another app... don't know. Does it sound familiar?

In any case, what is your best tool to diagnose ping times prior to a races?

I know about this one:
https://pingserverstatus.com/granturismosport.php

I run it from my PC. The weird thing about that one is the my ping time to the "US West Online" is frequently my worst connection. I live on the US West coast.

Gran Turismo Sport Server Server Status
US East Online 72
US West Online 118
EU West Online 34
EU East Online 99
SEA Online 49
OCE Online 93
Australia Online 37

And I am not running a VPN on my home network.

Click "sport" and when the screen for selecting dailies or FIA is up the checker is top left.

EDIT: that's it too many ninjas about :grumpy:
