F1 may have the worst brakes in gr3 and it just doesn't like to slide.
Don't hate the car, hate the driver...
Maybe we should race dude. :)
Like I said, even in capable hands(a couple A & A+ drivers) the car is garbage.

@ShiftingGears just saw your post. I love the F1. It's a cool car. I've used it plenty. Used it at Sardegna. TThat's a tough track to drive it, but at Tokyo, that thing has to be slowed so much.

It's that classification problem. It ain't a modern downforce GT3 car, as we all know it's not. However, some just see the win. Not too much racing sensibly with it. Not saying people shouldn't use what they want. That's why it's in the game... to choose. However, the rate at which I'm catching them in the meat of the circuit, I'm not losing much on the straight, as I can can stay with it. It's a hazard. Pretty much...
I think you pointed out early on, the RX-V is fast in a straight line too. It just doesn't have the torque. The Ford GT looks a bit better in cornering speed. Still, for this track, I'd pick something else that's not so much of a handling compromise... in race pace.

Thanks whoever recommended the Beetle for Race B, it’s fun and fast though the corners... but loses 1.3s+ on the straight to the F1’s.

If you can get a tow (and the car in front doesn’t have one), then it works well.

overall more interesting than being 1 of 9 F1’s in the race though!

I am finding Fuji incredibly difficult this week. I just can’t get any consistency in the Group 2 cars. I’m starting to wonder whether my fear of being divebombed is inhibiting my driving.

Fuji Gr 2 in the Americas has been pretty clean this week (DR.A/DR.B with SR.S). I am part of the mid-pack mob and there is always the odd one. Overall, it has been kind of *boring* and processional. I tried two B races and it was much more *exciting* though I am running at the back of the grid for those.

Fuji with Gr2 is always a struggle to get consistancy because you have to push them pretty hard to get the downforce and grip, but as the tires wear it becomes counterproductive and the things keep sliding more. Those last 3 laps can be skating on ice if you haven't taken care of the tires well.

And yeah, the divebombing isnt crazy but it is still there. Was running to get my SR back up and got t-boned twice in 2 races in the final corner from way back as people just went for it.

Iv been doing the same at Fuji. Start at the back, out of the way. Last night, went from nearly last, to last at T1. Dude I see once in a while, started behind me. He wound up finished 3rd because he fought with the car's at the back. I slowed for all that nonsense. The lower ranked drivers faired worse and that player drove away.

By the time I navigated up the field, cars that pitted, were fighter with each other. One car in that group, obviously didn't pit. So, I got it's pockets picked on the last lap. I'm catching it to the Dunlop sign, for the hard braking right. Homie tried to take me out to keep me from gaining the position.

I maintained composure after he hit me and I drove away up the last series of turns, to cross the line 6th. What a sucka.

Actually looking forward to DTS this week and what this Race C will be. I'm still betting on Group C.

I just lost 58 sr in two races at race b. First race cost 40sr. Sunday nights not the right time for clean racing. They think they are on a time trial, no respect for others and think they are all hamilton or verstappen.
If someone ruins my race i quit racing and punish the idiot. Costs too much dr/sr points. Down to A/B, sr at 41 i'm about to have another dr reset. PD must get this penalty system right. This just doesn't work!

That’s possible. But with Gr. 2 cars, you have enough of a job just wrangling the car. I typically don’t worry about dive bombers, but the slipstream on them lends to more accidental dive bombing. Gr. 2 is a class where I prefer the tactic of qualify the best you can & try to keep your nose clean. I’ve only had it happen once, but it proved my point.

DTS. I’m not sure I’ll ever be ready for a week there. Let the CoD memes begin.

If you do get a reset, take advantage & get a few easy wins. Won’t make you feel better about the low DR, but a W tends to reduce the sting.

After having the good fortune to rack up an obscene number of wins at Le Mans this week, I can say that my most enjoyable race was one where I finished 4th.
I copped a penalty, and lost the lead. The top 4 cars swapped positions, back and forth. Everybody was respectful and clean. It was some nice racing. 👍

Is it just me, but race C has seemed much more of a brawl the last 2 days. People maybe feeling they should be doing better so don't give any space? I'm still doing the same, about 4 places made in a game it just doesn't seem as clean as earlier in the week.

I'd just started a game as I was writing this and it was fairly clean for a change..........who am I kidding I had a clean race and made 9 places because I managed to say out of trouble. Admittedly had battles with 2 players and they both gave space one guy tried to take me on the first corner and when I covered I was waiting for the bump, but no he did a really good cut back so we were level coming to no.2 (I don't know any names of corners on any tracks) and I think "got you" but no he takes me on the outside, well done great move and not one bump through the whole thing, I had no problem losing a place to a clean move like that.

Penalties aside, racing at Tokyo Expressway is really enjoyable. These sweeping, fast turns are lovely. East Inner Loop and East Outer Loop are some top notch original tracks by Polyphony.

The only downside to this week’s daily B with McLaren F1 being the meta is that there’s a few who can’t quite handle it and due to the nature of the track (and the penalty system!) that can cause some ruckus.

Gr.4 would've had a better mix of cars entering the race. FFs would get exposed on the straight.

but but....

Edit: Missed qualy because I was messing around in Qualy for Race C.

STarted behind the D/S Slophy crew. A GT-R was a couple cars ahead. These dudes were crawling at every corner. I got tagged by a SLophy being impatient. Once I got around the Gt-R, we were 6 seconds behind 12th. Put in good laps and moved up to 6th. 5th hit the exit of the COD and I passed as its unghosting in the tunnel.

Qualified in the Megazda3.

A/S in the top 8. I'm A/A, because of that tap from the Slophy(be careful). Just stayed behind the Pole sitter(finished 3rd). We ran alone for 2 laps. It hits the exit of the COD. I evade and the player follows me around.
It hits the COD hard and I skip away to the finish. Clean player had apologised for the COD and I said All good. Thanked me before exiting.

Edit2: Might have to one and done this race. That or I need a wheel. Fingers are done from LAp 6-10. Good job by pennanton. Once I wobbled at the start(didn't know if I should have started with TCS 1. I went TCS 0), he was goooooooone. Stayed about 3 seconds early on, but my fingers were toast.
Another 787B that started behind me, passed me and did the MR Sliiiiide after a few turns. Got back P2 and ran alone chasing pennanton.

Believe me, I was putting in the hard work. I knew if I could stay in front of you I was doing something right. Always good racing you.

Having a bit of fun trying to nail a consistent smooth lap at Alsace, but that turn up the hill seems to be my bogey corner for now. I also found another barrier that stops you dead in your tracks there. I know of 1 at tokyo, and the wall in the chicane here at Alsace has a spot as well, but I took a bad line and caught this one.

Preceded by the end of a pretty nasty race A I was in to finish the combo for the week. I was giving back the elbows out approach I was given at the start of the race.

Off to a good start on Race B! Took a second off my previous best lap and started from pole in front of a bunch of TTs, who had a squabble in the first few corners, giving me a 3 second lead.

Dragon Trail seems to be one of the tracks that suits me and the motion control. I think because there are no overly tricky braking and cornering zones, which is where I seem to struggle most.

It can only go downhill from here..

OK done all 3. A was maybe OK, but quali is the key. B was the only race where it was all C drivers quali 12th and had a terrible race. All my fault, some idiot pushed me off and surprise surprise didn't get a penalty and I did some stupid things to try and catch up, if I'd just kept going as I was I would have been about 11th. C I did OK, went from 16 to 14th just by keeping it clean and was the top C driver, couldn't tell much about the race because the guys in front were mainly As with a couple of A+ drivers. But why is race C so meh? What's the point of having tyre wear and fuel if it makes no odds? Last week you had a choice pit or skate around for the last lap or so and that's brilliant, it adds an extra dimension to the race, it can be through tyres or fuel, give us just enough so we need to pit if we drive too hard, anything just put something that you have to think about in there.
Overall an OK week, need to do some practice on all of them and see if I can do well somewhere.

Well 10 laps behind a good player nets me pole in race A, just Cs and Ds. 5 Cs and I'm door 5. So get in front stay in front and clean for 3 laps, get passed with a slightly dodgy move but he mucks up so in 1st again. All looking good till last corner where same guy launches himself from 3rd into 2nd then hitting my back end and I end up 4th. Yes he didn't get a penalty and came 2nd. Now a decent penalty system wouldn't have given me 1st, but it would have put him far enough back that he might think about his behaviour, what reason does he have for not trying this stuff when he can get away with it?
