Damage report: had the same thing you had happen twice. On top of that, I had it just freeze, shut down, & restart by itself. Went out & into the room at one time & got a "this room is not available" error, twice. And did you see this error message?

Didn't see that, just bailed on the lot. Wasn't going to fight it. Shut the thing down for a while.

Hey @Kevstah2004 hang in there. This is good for practice, hang in there. We're there for fun. Everyone is all good there.

Pointless me turning up just to make the numbers, I’m not getting any better.
I’ll stick to offline & TTs.

Well that’s me done, I quit.
I’m just holding everyone else up, please give my slot to someone more deserving.
I can’t maintain any type of pace against you guys without being flustered into silly mistakes.

No no no, don’t be silly. Everyone has off days, I think I spent more time facing backwards tonight than I did forwards. Just relax, maybe take a day or two off and then get right back at it!

Race 6 has to be one of the craziest races I've seen on GT Sport, probably the luckiest winner too:

You should have seen that first lap from my point of view. I went from 8th or 9th to the lead in one lap. But, I had a fine tradition to uphold & over-drove the final corner.

I thought the same thing months ago about my own driving. But, I've gotten better. Keep the faith. Also, this is the boys club. We aren't grading anyone here.

You're quicker than me and I'm not about to quit... stick with it and treat it as a fun break from "real" racing. You'll learn stuff from these guys :D
I just try to stay clean and not get in anyone's way, but continue to surprise myself with how well I do using that strategy. Especially when @sturk0167 has the 'fridge stocked... :p

@Kevstah2004, there are tons of replays to see where the faster drivers make time. Watch some, practice some, build up to it. Just watching the races we ran tonight will give you hints. Heck, @viper al even paid me a compliment on my "skill" doing the daily C races tonight. It's nice when a faster driver gives you a pat on the back. Just stick with it & it will become natural to run faster & more consistent.

I’m not looking for sympathy or kind pity, in some ways I find it insulting.
Simple fact is, I’m just not good enough, there’s no need for me to embarrass and delude myself any further.
No no no... in this lobby there is no such thing as "not good enough", it's FUN races with friends. If you're not having fun I'll accept that, but not being fast is no reason to stop. From the original post in this topic:
....So I’m proposing a once a week get together to run through the Daily Races, just for fun, no scores or week to week standings or anything like that, all skill levels welcomed. ...
(text set to bold by me for emphasis)

I don’t expect to win, but I’m not even remotely competitive for fun, even when given the lead, I end up falling back to last :banghead:
I might as well be driving the Sambus with a sweeper collecting everyone’s dust.

I'm with @The_Tullster, it is for fun. If you aren't enjoying it then definitely find what is fun for you. But you'll be welcomed back later if you come back.

My apologies if you felt insulted man. I meant no disrespect. I only meant it in a joking manner. Let me leave you with this, and afterwards if you still feel the same way then so be it. I'll respect your decision either way. :)

Before you throw in the towel YouTube "Tidgneys driving school". I watched a video then went to the track and tried to apply what I thought I had learned. It's a process, but after it all started clicking, I found myself more consistent. With that came speed. Hope that helps in some way.

Don't listen to @Qyn , he's obviously a late blooming alien freak . This is what reality looks like:

Ah 🤬 @Kevstah2004 I probably ruin a large majority of your racing. Last night I know I tagged ya at lease twice.
I’m sorry for that, its gotta make it more frustrating.
Hell I’ve been cleaning up the rear since the start but stick around for the good times and laughs.

Hang in there bro!

Kev, at least your connection doesn't drop. I missed the first race with the Beat & all 4 bonus races. When I got in, I couldn't control the Beat in the second race, spun myself at both Bathurst races, & spun myself out of the lead at one of the Sardegna races. I still had fun. You might be suffering from the same issue I have. I like to be competitive in any race in order to feel like I'm good at the game. When I make a mistake, I question if I'm up to the caliber of driver that everyone else in the room is. That's not what this series of races is about. This is about VW Beetles jumping over course barricades. This about driving trucks on dirt tracks because dirt tracks never get used in daily races. This is about how big the smile gets on your face when something ridiculous happens. This is where you can make mistakes without someone sending you a scathing message afterward. Never have I been in an online room where I've seen so many apologies. Nobody wants to see you give up, Kev. This is for fun. This is for stress relief. This is where your DR & SR are safe.

@Kevstah2004 I really hope you don’t leave man, we all enjoy having your out to race each week. The videos @Qyn mentioned are very helpful, if you’re into reading the book Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley covers the same subjects but in a lot more detail, both are excellent sources of info on how to improve. :)

Replays from last night are now shared but I didn’t get a chance to get photos yet, hoping to do that soon. Thanks again for coming out to race last night fellas!

Keep in mind some of the drivers in this lobby are frequently in the top 10. So for me it's like racing the ghosts I chase during the week to set qualifying times. It's challenging but also a great opportunity to test myself, and happens to be with super relaxed and fun people.

When I first started this lobby I was about a full lap behind and would quit the race before finishing so no one would have to wait. But lately I can finish before time runs out.

If you keep at it you will get faster without trying. I did. And I know anyone can.

As @GOTMAXPOWER said, that first lap of race 6 was insane, but was probably the most fun I've had in these lobbies yet. This is what I had to drive through. I got some pictures of "the big one" at the right turn, bottom of the hill, but forgot to save them to my thumb drive. :banghead:
