@Kevstah2004, I think I get it.
It isn't about fast/slow, good/bad. It's about whether or not you're enjoying yourself. I know what that's about, man. I quit the C race in the friends lobby last night, and sat out the second one, because I just didn't like it at all, and it felt more like a chore than fun. I also wasn't any good at it, but it doesn't matter because I'm not very good at Bathurst either, but I do that race a lot because I like driving on that track.

The opposite can also be true. The Fuji race last week was a combo that I always do well at. I could get podiums all day long at that race, and make my DR grow, but only did a couple because I didn't really like it.

I don't feel obligated to stick with something that I don't enjoy. If you come to more of the Friday lobby races, sit out the race combos that you don't like (guys do it all the time). It can be kinda fun to watch in spectator mode. 👍

@Kevstah2004 I really hope you don’t leave man, we all enjoy having your out to race each week. The videos @Qyn mentioned are very helpful, if you’re into reading the book Speed Secrets by Ross Bentley covers the same subjects but in a lot more detail, both are excellent sources of info on how to improve. :)

As @GOTMAXPOWER said, that first lap of race 6 was insane, but was probably the most fun I've had in these lobbies yet. This is what I had to drive through. I got some pictures of "the big one" at the right turn, bottom of the hill, but forgot to save them to my thumb drive. :banghead:

Exactly! I have some of my most fun, and challenging battles racing at the back of the pack. :lol:

I don't know if it's just me, but everytime @Invisigoth and I get around each other on the track it's gets fast, fun, and intense. Good hard racing happening everytime. :dopey:

If your connection goes poo-poo, the only thing I see in spectator mode is one car sitting on the starting line. I tried to watch the truck races, but the camera just tried to show what was happening on the other side of the course, but there was a mountain in the way. :boggled:

Ah 🤬 @Kevstah2004 I probably ruin a large majority of your racing. Last night I know I tagged ya at lease twice.
I’m sorry for that, its gotta make it more frustrating.

I’m always hitting people my spatial awareness is terrible,
overs like yourself hit me because I brake too early.

It was fun for me to sideswipe @GOTMAXPOWER.
We need more trash talking. It was fun because usually he’s like half a lap ahead and I know he would take it well. A good natured whack. Lol
It was quite fun to see many cars at the Chase without huge dust clouds and empty racetrack right after.

I tried to watch the second race in spectator mode after I glitched and bailed and all I got was wonderful views of the scenery with random glimpses of a car. Did hear wonderful engine sounds.

Yeh, but you are faster than me. I can generally hang there and hope you make a mistake... but you are making fewer mistakes lately :p.

Thanks man. Been concentrating a lot more on my consistency, and race craft the last few months. I can now say that I feel what the car is doing now, which helps me push a little harder. :)

Good running at the back with ya'. :cheers:

The best thing is forgetting to brake, just a little bit late on the brake. If the cars straight it will be like shooting pool.

I had that epiphany a couple of months ago. It has had a huge impact on my racecraft & qualifying. I felt like I took a big step forward. Glad you reached that level.

Exactly my Man,The guys that race in @Pigems lobby are a bunch of cool dudes and I appreciate being able to race with them/you .I hate FF cars with a passion and never race them in the Dailies ,but I do manage to a have little fun with them on FRIDAY NIGHTS .The Daily races are stressful,pounding beers and having fun is what it's all about for me .If you mess up ,apologize and move on,We are all friends after all .:cheers:
 
To clarify, I didn't quit for good, and I totally get where kevstah is coming from. I know I'm bad, brake wrong, just slow in general. I lost the fun. It felt more like trying to stay out of the way than racing, so I'm taking a break. Playing the rest of the game again, not Sport mode. I know pigems and the gang will refriend me if I ask to. Its extra hard for me since I'm not a few tenths or a second off pace, but 4 to 7 seconds or more. That's not fun. I don't have the time or the wife to put the practice in to get close to you guys in this room. If a combo I feel good at rolls around I might try it with you again. So any day now, seeing how the races rotate.

I take a slightly different view. Like you guys, I'm slow, my braking points can be .....unpredictable. My "racing line" is whatever line gets me around any given corner at any given time.

If one of the other drivers finds themselves behind me because they came off, and I'm in their way...the answer is simple. Don't go off the track :dopey:! (yeh, it's the other "git gud" ;)).

With the reverse grids, I'm usually on pole or P2. The conditions are the same for everyone. The faster guys wanna get to the front. I'm a road block. But that just adds to the challenge of the game. They gotta get past me cleanly. It tests their race craft and adds interest to the game rather than them just hot lapping. I become part of the strategy of the game. The first guy to come across me can use me to increase their gap if they manage a good clean pass in the right place. If they don't, the guy behind him can use me to close the gap. So rather than me worrying about getting in other people's way, I just run my race because me being there is a moving part of the race over all.

Us slower guys being participating also improves the faster guys skills. By practising getting past a moving target like us, it prepares them to deal with people like us out in Sport mode, but in an environment where if they get it wrong, they arn't going to loose SR/DR. :p

That's the very part I played at Catalunya. And I do IT so well that they got to retry those passes sooo many times.
