Mk got myself full of food and soda from cherno and headed to south camp. The new tent beavis put down there now has a lot of food and soda and a few water bottles for everyone. I would have stayed on a bit longer for crash heli hunting but I was falling asleep while I was running to south camp lol. Going to get some more sleep before work.
Good luck to whoever plays today. See you guys tonight.

Its worth it for anyone who wants to get on. Everyone I have seen spawn in the game usually leaves as soon as they see its night. I played for over an hour by myself and I had flares and everything lol so its perfect for any heli crash runs, stary runs, and maybe some airfield runs if you are up for it.

You also pull less zeds at night so I was able to crouch run almost the whole time. Someone has barricade the hell out of the firehouse in cherno. Couldn't find a toolbox to take it all down though :(

Teddy with a machete is my name in game btw, was up for a change ^.^

-.- Looks like I'll have to head back down to Cherno to get rid of the CAT 1. If I find my goal later on tonight, I should be able to get down and leave again with a time to task of only a few minutes.

Tomorrow ( Saturday) I'm leaving for vecation to Sweden, I'll stay there for about 2 weeks, probably less, I don't know, but It'll be away for max 2 weeks. Hope you don't forget me while I'm away!
 
7/19/2012 After action notes from a recon patrol (EDITED):

Michael and Ender conducted a long recon patrol from North of Gorka, Black Mountain, OP Ostry, North of Airfield, Olsha, Guba inlet, Coastline to Blacklake, Willow Lake.

Michael spotted one playable boat in the middle of the water from coastline between the lakes. Ender spotted a stuck bicycle near Willow Lake.

Our second leg of the patrol was from NE of Polana, OP Dubino, lone Factory, Polana supermarket, to South Camp. Along the way to south camp, Ender spotted a helicopter at -------. At that position Michael spotted a suspected enemy base camp appx 250m from the downed helo.

My intent during this recon patrol was to locate suspected campsites, locate vehicles, and find that boat (mission accomplished on that part, thanks to Micheal). Upon enemy contact, we were to break contact and escape and evade.

Unfortunately, I smelled an ambush, but was getting too tired and made some bad decisions at that point. South Camp (home) was nearby, was getting undisciplined. I wanted to investigate the campsite. With the downed helo and a tentsite co-located-- Player presence is almost guarenteed (a defended position w/ tight security and sectors of fire). I really should have exfiltrated upon getting the coordinates and emphasised to Beaves and Tastey not come because the enemy was already "dug-in" with overwatch.

Good on them for wanting to quick reaction force (QRF) and Micheal for helping conduct a 3+ hour patrol, I really hoped they could get the drop on them, but it was foolish of me not to advise them to abort the QRF because they were hitting a possible "fortified" position.

Suggestions for the future: recon patrols should always be invisible, getting coordinates on activities is the primary mission (for the most part our team did an outstanding job). On a hotspot such as a dual campsite/ down helo; We can always plan an assault at a future date, without spooking the player base camp. Patience, coordinated execution, teamwork, and a lot of practice will pay off in the long run.

Tool suggestion for recon: I didn't think about this until today. SCREENSHOTS of elements of interests. Having screenshots of a campsite with identifiable landmarks would be awesome to take and be able to post it to an easy access place.

If its there when you guys get to the location then its worth checking out the island- Skalisty island. Its a great area for someone to have a camp. Its also a decent size with a few zombies. I was there a few weeks ago when I found a boat on the 2nd small island next to Skalisty.

Giving coordinates and then mentioning you were going to a friendly campsite can direct people to it's location.

Best wait until we have a private forum so you can put up the screenshots, as not to inform the owner of a possible campsite.

edit: sixupdater updated my beta patch and now I can't get on the server. Will try to be online tomorrow morning, so I can play in some daylight.
 
^True, I learned that also to not give out position.

Ender try to edit out the specific locations in your posts. It's a nice summary, but we shouldn't give them out.

Dustdriver, I can tell you how to roll back the beta and how to launch the game without using Sixlaucher, as we have the same version (retail Arma X). it's easy
 
I didn't realize how detailed Ender's post was. But now that I read it, I know what boat they were talking about, and it's not the one I am after.

It will be an awesome craft to have as it will make exfil possible from any coast line.

I have some plans, and I can barely wait for the next two hours to be over so I can go home and put some of them in to action.
 
Messed around in Guild Wars 2 BWE for an hour but DayZ keeps calling for me, I am on TS if any one needs me. I may head up closer to the loc we started heading to last night Dom, i'll see about stopping off to fill the jerry I have.

Got the M240 with 3 belts + DMR with 5 mags, M1911 with 6 mags as sidearm... :D
Found the M240 in the barracks at the end of the airfield, the barracks was looted the hell out of so I think someone found a heavier weapon, and traded in their M240... And this was on a 35-40/40 slot server.
Still, I got to replace my M4, so I was quite pleased. :sly:

Only thing missing is the ghillie suit, and maybe a better sniper. :crazy:

Hah yeah, the guy picking up my M4 would be very lucky though.

Had 13 (yes you read that right) Stanag mags for it. All full. :dopey:

Im just glad that I finally found some morphine for a friend of mine... Been scavenging the airfield, Stary Sobor and other cities for probably 10 hours of total gameplay. We killed 8 people on the way from the airfield to Stary Sobor, but none of them had any morphine.

Today, I went to the tents for a finally look, and what do you know!
New loot and 1 morphine injector!
2 minutes later, a 3 man squad came in shooting in the supermarket in Stary, close to where my friend was overlooking the city.
Just when I got back to him, I saw him take down 2 of the guys who were filling up the waterbottles at the water pump. The 3rd one disconnected instantly! :lol:

Now, where are those crashes?! :nervous:
 
Was just running east from Stary Sobor, and found a heli crash...
And when I came closer and scoped with my DMR I saw something just directly in the background.
Another heli crash! 2 crashes very close, now thats a first!

The 1st crash had a M14, FAL and a AKS-74U...
None of it were of any interest to me.

The 2nd had nothing but a hunting rifle, so that one was looted.

Oh well...
 
I love the M14. More so because I am not that great with a sniple and that gun has decent range on it. I usually get head shots with it. I have been planning on getting an M14 and a bizon sd whenever I get a chance lol.
Hopefully I have good luck tomorrow and no ones on again in the morning. I can go heli hunting and see what I get.
If anyone has any guns in mind that they want let me know and If I come across any tomorrow morning I will grab them for you if possible.
I might be on tonight but not 100% sure.

I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with the complaints of team members acting inappropriately. This includes:

- Intentional friendly fire
- Disrespecting other members
- Forcefully leading groups without being an established leader or being assign to lead a mission
- Abusing TS channel - being a channel hog
- Cheating/duping/exploiting

This is a warning to anyone who has done any of this... We don't have time to deal with this so any future incidents/problems will result in immediate petition for removal from the group. Check yourselves. If you want to goof around, do it in another server or in practice. If you want to grief your own teammates, join another group.

Well, tried to join in today but could not get in to the server, or any servers for that matter. Must be my beta patch (updated by 6updater). Tried rolling back but no success. Went to the books to study the rest of the day as i have exams tomorrow.

As for the complaints - i second walker's statement.
 
Truly, I've yet to see any of those things happen. The worst I've seen is playing tag with rifles. Time zone difference, I guess.

What is our clan's stance on farming, also known as loot cycling? We did that yesterday, to me it's a grey area. But I can understand why it might be perceived as exploiting.
 
Hey guys, quick update. With the day of free gaming we have acquired 2 ATV's and a White Pickup. Due to some problems, and something I hope we caught on video. One of the ATV's went 500 feet in the air. Aaaaaand Gaius died, but. We still have 1 atv and the pickup. We also have a new campsite. All of you can get co-ords when getting on teamspeak, And let me just say. You will love it.

ATV's are deathtraps! Those things will launch you way up for no reason. I actually survived my encounter with one, though just barely.

Great haul, especially the pick-up.
 
Jaime I haven't seen it either in the sessions I'm in, but apparently it just started the past couple of days and I've had numerous complaints from different members as well as self-admissions from most those involved. I won't name names, but its the actions of only a few members. The majority of us all seem to be on the same page... to make sure this doesn't get out of hand we might as well address it now.

Farming: this is part of the game mechanics and IMO is not exploiting. Loot respawns, and if you want to take the risk to clear the loot spots and wait for spawns in high risk areas then why not?

As for clan policies and stances, we are all part of that and trying to define it now so everyone should speak up! What kind of group should we be? What kinds of things will be prohibited and what is allowed? What is our "mission"? Stiggie formed this group and brought us all together... we all agreed when joining to respect each other and not fight among ourselves, to play together and have fun and its worked out well. But as we are growing and have had recent issues we ought to nail down the specifics so everything is clear and we avoid problems down the road.

@beavis :send me the coordinates, I have a tent I will set it up there then when I get online.

@ Walker: not much need for petitions, it's your server if it gets out of hand, they have to leave the group for a week, if it's not better after that it's perma ban. I have no problem with swearing, but swearing over other team mates on and on is more than lame.
And the "funny", I shot at your feet now dance bitch should be forbidden, we get enough unintentional friendly fire (sorry beavis again) to not provoke FF,

Farming is ok, but don't drag your team in a suiciadal mission.
