I've been playing BF3 a lot recently. Too bad that the dayz mod became a victim of it's own success with all the hacking.
Haven't installed Arma again after reinstalling windows recently.
 
Myself, Beavis, Dom, Bob, Gaius, Ghunn, Michael, and occasionally Jicks still play games together. We just have don't use this site all that much really. Everyone's on the TS so much that we don't really need to type much lol.

Message me for TS details if you want to join. Most of the guys get on later in the day. Occasionally you will see me in the morning but If I have work then not till later on around 10 pm my time. Also if you have any of the guys I just messaged on TS you can get the info from them as well If I do not respond. Work today and all lol :) We also have a different clan name because the group of us basically broke off from this group for the most part. EZ is too popular and doesn't fit most games so we use Battle Squid Gaming now. We play games from guild wars2 and minecraft too battlefield 3 depending on who gets on and and what everyone is in the mood for.

Also Michael has a youtube and Dom as well that they post videos of us. Michael has been doing youtube videos a lot longer so you will see ones without us :) Feel free to ask one of us for the links for those as well.

Oke, this is probably a stupid and obvious question;

Im getting a new PC these dayz, and if I install Steam on that PC, download Arma II and Operation Arrowhead, then download the Day Z mod, will I then be able to just re-join where i've left off now?
Or must I start over with a new character even though it's the same Steam profile?

I don't mind starting over, I like this mod quite alot.

It's just, I got all the high end gear i've been scavenging for weeks to get.
I sure don't wanna lose it if I don't have too. :)
 
It's linked to your Arma II ID so you should keep your progress

On dayZ, I think if the price point of the "10000e10" alpha is correct, I buy in in December when released, but as I understood it the mod DayZ will be slow from on here, so probably dead for me, though I absolutly need to go back once to dispatch some people with my 50 cal as long as I have it.

But with my luck I will respawn in debug or be killed by a hacker on arrival...
 
WarZ is a bit too buggy to play right now, crashes average every 5 minutes, but its a decent start (been playing alpha version a bit the past few hours). The graphics/scenery is great, the zombies are nice, UI/inventory is solid, not one hacker in sight, etc. But they've got quite a bit of work to do before its really playable. Maybe next month.
 
^I just finished a session of 2 hours no disconnect. They wanted to roll out a hotfix. Possible it's downloaded automaticly so I didn't notice.

PVP was horrible in the beginning though I managed to get to the north somehow past the big city, and in the second city, teamed up with a few guys, lfet them because they attracted to much Zeds.

Found a barn with spawn mauser sniper rifle. Milked it a bit.
Then found a chopper, got 2 fal's and a m50. Lol.
Ammo is scarce though, only have ammo for the mauser as it was loaded, but I have 10 of them so a hundrets shots :lol:

It has potential to become good, bug fixing, pvp and balancing.
But those are all things for the now open alpha and open beta


Oh yeah, don't know if you noticed, but on the character creation page, on an existing carc, you can click inventory and move stuff you picked up to your off session inventory, so you can swap items between caract. and stuff. Pretty usefull.

Found a lot of stuff, disconnect, store, reenter and scavange again

as soon as server selection works we need to play togehter
 
Well they are making lots of quick updates and improvements and I really have high hopes for WarZ. It's not as reality hard-core as DayZ but its fun and with the latest patches, much less buggy and akward than DayZ with its arma2 interface.

I have 2 guest keys that should be valid once beta starts, and by then I think it will be a really solid game worth playing and teaming up!

They removed the ability to farm to your global inventory (you now have to be in a safe settlement to access global inventory) and with the other changes its really starting to affect PVP for the better (more consensual and less griefing).

I think the friends list/find friends is coming in soon so hopefully we can team up Ibo :)
 
Glad to see that you guys have had a chance to play War Z. I really haven't had the downtime since I just moved, which I'm hoping to have more free time next week.
 
There is still some action in DayZ!

Story:

I joined a DayZ server (random, with 1 player on but a few others joining), me spawning near the north west airfield, saw some zombies running around, didn't see any players so I thought "Darn, he has just left the area".

Then suddenly I noticed a guy up in the ATC tower, as stupid as he was, he climbed on top of the tower and was sitting on the roof looking around, I zoomed in and saw he had the L85A2 AWS.

I then put my zero-ing on 700 meters on the M107, aim just a bit over his head, BOOM! hit him in the chest/neck! :D
Confirmed it afterwards the distance was 760 meters, plus maybe 1-2 meters.

Not that insane shot or anything, but a great moment!

Poor guy probably never knew I was even on the server! :D

And as scornfully as I can be in this game, I mocked him with "DEAD =)" in the chat afterwards. :sly:


Oh bring on the standalone... Please! :p

Phoenix: sounds good, if the SA is out fast enough, I won't bother reinstalling everything... if it's like the xmas release, I will get back on the mod.

I'm stoked, hopefully less hackers, better base and I'm happy :D

I can't believe it's been a year since the thread started. I'm not sure if any of you guys still play it (I gave up on it) but it was nice while it lasted. I hope to see you guys when the standalone is released.
 
I stopped quite early in the group I think.

But I got so eager on the SA, that I reinstalled it last week and been playing since on-off.

I now am 700meters in a hill, overlooking a firestation, appartement and market.
200 bullets, food and drinks for days. :lol:
I am on 12 kills now with the m40a2. Love it.
I'm watching TV, as soon as I see Zeds spawn, I get ready and then Boom headshot, back to TV. Love it. Noboy has found me yet.

Oh geez.... Not you aswell...

I don't get why people want to play on massive PVP overpowered weapons and thousands of barracks servers...

If you want PVP, go play Arma II or CoD or BF or something.

I am glad the Standalone is focusing on survival again, and not just PVP killing everyone on sight as the mod has become. ;)
 
Well, the mod leaves little choice. Especially playing as a one wolf wolfpack :lol: Then I go to a server with starting gear and kill on sight... less fun than playing in a group for sure

Trying to get a base of regular players, but none of the remaining DayZ mod players seems to like Veteran, with no crosshairs or nametags when you scroll.


And yeah, i'm completely updated on the SA. :dopey:
 
I did it was empty :(

I had a cool moment tonight, after killing 3 pandies from 700 meters, and wounding 5, I heart a heli. It was coming closer than roaming above me (no gullie). Then it lands 100 meter from me. I change my sniper for a silenced m4 halo, hid from tree to tree, until I saw them, 2 guys, 1 in a gullie, walking around the lil bird. Was around 30-40 meters away from them, took the shots, they didn't even knew what hit them, 1 headshot the other hids behind the heli, shot him in the lower torso a few times. Dead.Flew the heli a bit away, found a quad, stored some stuff in it.
If it continues like that I can do this forever. Muhahaha

Kill count for tonight = 5

it was a good night :D
 
Anyone want to meet up ingame? I'm downloading the Stand Alone version, can't wait to get back into the thick of things!

We had a great time together before the hackers took the joy out of it for me. I'm hoping we can revive that fun factor!

I come on tonight, so if you see me on steam, shoot me a message and we hop on the same server.

Try to get near Zeleno, there are a few barracks around we should be able to get you geared up

Great, I'm currently geared up and stalking the countryside East of NWAF, somewhere around Stary Sobor, I think. Haven't seen any signs yet.
 
I finally got round to getting this game, and I have no idea what I'm doing.

I've found a few bits of loot but generally die within 10mins!

Help!
