wheres the jdm love. where's my eg6 civic and r32/33 gtr....this is a joke. how can you show evo 8, r33 gtr and work meisters in the start video and then not include them.

I too am disappointed by the low number of Japanese cars in the game. It's probably just me, but European cars seem to dominate the car list.

That's Ferrari's doing. Most other manufacturers are pretty balanced, but the car list is completelly clogged up with Ferrari.

It's not just you. Ralph Fulton actually admitted they had to restrain themselves on that:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/26/forza-horizon-fan-feedback-the-rally-expansion-and-peanut-butter-sandwiches
“We’re all massive car fans here so from that point of view you get a kid in a sweet shop mentality, like, ‘I’ll have that one, I’ll have that one, I’ll have that one!’,” says Fulton. “Obviously though, we knew there are lots of constraints on what we do.”

“We have to fit everything we’re doing onto one disc, so right away there’s gonna be a hard limit on the stuff that we can stick on that disc. And as far as just the cars that we want, from a British perspective, we tried to be disciplined, and certainly Turn 10 have been great at keeping us honest, about exactly what cars we include. Because the cars which to us Brits might really resonate, might be something we’re really passionate about, we have to take a step back and look at it from a more global point of view because we’re making a global game."

That last sentence...I just want to say that I wish PD adopted that same attitude towards Japanese cars in GT games.

Please for the love of god don't say JDM. I agree I wish there were more, but an EG6 would be the last Japanese I feel a lot of us would be lobbying for. And that intro video was a real video, not gameplay, so I don't see why you were getting your hopes up. The also showed stretched tires and camber, but they didn't put tuning in.

That is pretty weak. They did not bother adding new customizations at all. It would have made their stupid DLC more worth it. If they revamped the whole customization I would not even complain much. All they did was add matte paint, like wow their arms must be pretty twisted to add that! That is some real effort there! Okay, so they added lights and interior lights and you get to see your rainbow pansy wristbands while in cockpit view.

It's like the only effort was made was the map and everything else was just thrown in and left out. No extra wheels, kits, and other many cosmetic changes were offered. In 2012 they are still behind a few years. How can other games pull this off but they can't? How dare they? Having the resources and opportunity to create something mind blowing and in the end this is what they continue to give us?

The evidence is in front of you. How can people keep defending them and finding excuses for them is beyond me. Stop it! Unless you were born yesterday then you would have no clue of what is good or bad or right and wrong. They will keep getting away with it because of your support. That also effects us, we will have to settle to this nonsense because the race genre is lacking big time.

Cars in the intro and cars in the game are different. They should not have showed it. Especially how the cars were stanced. Since they did what do you expect? Of course you would expect to see that in game. But nope, still the old Forza cars and modifications. I myself already expected no change but was hoping for a little something. By the way, looking at how wack they have been with everything already explains their poor JDM car choices. Another one of those not listening to what people want and instead thinking they know what people want attitude. They have no clue, the only clue they have is milking this as much as possible. Too bad it's working. The sheep are too many.

I'm a euro fan and even I am disappointed in the amount of JDM cars. No eg, no ek, so many good Hondas missing from FM4. I bet you they will be a free DLC car in these packs.

Being a euro fan, there's quite a lot of euros missing. VW fans finally got a Scirocco (FM4 DLC) and its missing altogether. No mk3 VR6 GTI, no mk4 jetta/bora vr6 (wasn't this the ghost car for those that dont have dlc?), no r32.. even some good Audis like RS2 avant, B5 S44, RS6, etc..
I really hope we don't keep seeing FM4 cars come to FH via DLC

You could rattle off a list like that for practically every manufacturer the game has; the cuts weren't 100% fair, but they were a broad sweep. The only thing we can do is hope FH2 has 300+ cars and starts filling in those bald spots.

My thoughts exactly. We all have a list of specific cars we love but we can't expect them to have every car ever made. We also have to remember we are speaking for a very narrow part of the player base. The average player is looking to blast around in ballistic super cars.

What other games?! Don't hold your expectations too high, try and speak constructively... Don't just complain like everyone else.

And as those of us with Live Gold know, they're doing it in droves. I like trying to beat them in the sort of cars they'd find most offensive. The older and less aerodynamic, the better.

If I can't keep up then I just pull out one of my R-class cars and mop the floor. If they insist on driving high-class cars...

I didn't mean to go off like that. Seeing how they don't take any pride in their work and the obvious milking of the DLC, it is hard to not complain. I paid full price for this game, maybe if I got it for free or a huge discount I would not complain so much. But still, shady is shady though.

Anyways, I've been into racers for a very long time now and seeing these things go on in the industry makes me disgusted and bitter. Excuse me for that.

Hoping that the rally pack will deliver. But if I was a betting man....

Sorry I lashed at you a bit too... I feel you, I guess I like the game itself enough to not be too outraged by the dlc etc.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the game. The first few days I loved it. Even though I have not played it for a while I have no plans to sell it. It is very far from being a horrible game. Other people may have complained less but they already got rid of it for whatever reasons. I hope they fix/add certain things and add real worthy DLC. If not I'll still hold on to it because I see more positives than negatives. But this does not erase the fact that their tactics are still shady.

The thing is, for me, I got rid of GT5 for reasons of similar magnitude. So, yeah, all complaining aside, I'll probably act the same way I did with GT5, depending on the rally pack.

Besides, I still haven't downloaded the car pack. I'm usually all over free stuff whenever I get it. What did I end up doing, though? Fire up FM4 during one of the very rare breaks I took from Dark Souls yesterday.

Have to remember that this is the first installment of the series... We can't expect it to be perfect. I agree they are doing some things I don't agree with, but just because it says Forza on the box, DOES NOT mean its the same game.

Playground Games consits of pretty experienced folks. Most of them have made a name for themselves with various racing games. Then there's T10, still being involved in the whole development, not as the primary developer - but at least as a sort of consultant. And, last but not least, there's the publisher, Microsoft, as it is a first party title.

So, yeah, I'd cut them slack for the 30 FPS, for the limited "open" world, for the muted sounds, for a lot of things, actually. But the sort of DLC policy we've seen has nothing to do with the game being new. They're selling us what would've been the second disk on any other game sporting the Forza badge (until now, that is).

It's just too bad that I've already missed my opportunity to vote with my wallet. Woulld rather have done that than to get rid of the game, but it's just infuriating to look at the game's case. Always reminds me of the 50 bucks I blew on that crappy Season Pass. It was the same with GT5: I was friggin' mad at Sony/PD because the game so far behind everything I expected; once I sold my PS3, DFGT and copy of GT5, I felt much, much better. That's hopefully going to be the case for Forza Horizon, as well.

But the damage's done, anyways.

^ This I can agree with. Today I was thinking about some of the small errors here and there -- eg. the elevation/geometry glitches in some of the offshoot parking lots, inconsistent object clipping (bushes in Bunker vs bushes in Montano Plains), and handful of curbs/bumps that can hurl your car like a catapult if you clip them the wrong way -- and I recalled how quickly this game materialized.

The schedule they've established, two years per game, is pretty zippy if you ask me. And while I don't know how long they spent getting Forza Horizon ready, we know it was announced and released in half a year, and just one year after the game on which its engine and interface are based. So I think they did a pretty fine job, and I'm sure almost everyone would agree that FH2 will bring even greater things.

The DLC has been pretty underwhelming, but I'm likely to get the Season Pass after the Rally Pack goes live. I like half of these car packs, and I only liked half of FM4's car packs anyway.

Looks epic can't wait.

Me too. I'm excited for all the cars except the Ford. Mostly the Evo 8 because I'll finally be able to drive my real car in game! And the Celica ST 185 Is a car I just purchased. I cannot wait. I thought it would be included in the season pass :(

I'm a little surprised! The rally pack sounds cool so far. Seems like they have covered the elements of what it should be. I also like how they said they changed the physics a bit because currently it doesn't feel quite right when off road.

The cars also look proper with their rally parts on. "You can take the same rally upgrades that are featured in the cars that are packed in with the expansion pack and apply them to any car in your Forza Horizon garage," This is awesome news. We're not just limited to five cars. I knew they had the potential to add more parts. Why can't they add more things like kits and little bits and especially WHEELS. This is the best way to improve a current weak car list. I can't wait for this pack!

I know I'm pumped!!

You have an evo 8, man I'm so jealous. Evos are my favourite cars, I am determined to own one one day. But cars are so expensive to run in the uk.

I love it. It's my weekend driver so insurance isn't too bad being a "recreational vehicle". I worked my a** off for it though :) 4 years of straight working and in school, then I got a pretty big scholarship so I went ahead and used some tuition savings to buy it since I don't need the tuition savings anymore. My daily driver is a 97 eclipse GSX :) I have a Mitsubishi addiction. But my dad is a car fanatic as well, he has a 95 NSX supercharged for a weekender and a 07 TL type s for his daily. Also my dad and I split and share a S2000 for autocross but we're selling it to get a E46 M3 because we don't like the electric power steering in the S2000. But yeah I love my cars and its a great hobby to share with my dad :)

Edit: Ohh and I just bought a 1990 Celica alltrac GT4 ST185 that popped up in our local classifieds. I want to restore it to almost a rally replica :)

Seriously, the Focus SVT is exclusive to season pass holders?

God dammit Forza, stop making the obscure cars I want hard to get. I already can't get the Mini Coupe and Honda CRX because they're unicorns and I'm not dealing with that, and now I can't get yet another one of my favorite hot hatches? :irked:

You got the new golf if you pre ordered the game from gamestop. Any news on the February car pack coming?
