Delay Again

This day November 18th, it planned the SONY computer entertainment Japan, on December 3rd, it announced that the sale "of GRAN TURISMO 4" is modified on December 28th. The postponement reason, because adjustment place outside supposition remains "on the last continuing resolution of the game, came to the point of finishing to step on inevitably to sale day modification. "With it means saying (from release). In addition, together the set commodity "PlayStation 2 racing pack" of PS2 itself and, "the PlayStation 2 private memory card (8MB) premium series GRAN TURISMO 4", and also the collaboration package "NIKE/GRAN of NIKE TURISMO Limited Edition" was modified December 28th sale. Postponement it is regrettable, but, expecting, we would like to wait.

Could have something to do with the fact that KY is done with the game, and has handed it over to Sony. Whatever's happening now is on Sony's end. Polyphony just programs it, they don't manufacture it.
 
There goes my xmas break! ... Damn it I would have liked to spend some free time playin GT4.... and now it's gonna probably come out when I have to start school again.. WTF?! ...

perfection or not.... this is not the right time to delay a game... and delaying it till after xmas... WTF are they thinkin

Here's an idea. What if they just had a breakthrough with the online content and they're now going to include it from the beginning?

What would you say then?
 
This is truly retarded......

The only reasons I will accept for this delay is the waiting for Porsche and/or Ferrari liscences.........NO OTHER REASON.

Maybe some extra BMWs..............BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! 👎 :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy: :grumpy:

OK... How many milion of you where collectivly thinking "PDs gonna delay it again" cause guess what, you just made it happen. There now are you happy?!!! :mad:

To answer someone's question from earlier, Christmas is huge in Japan, but for the New Year's, kids get what's called "Otoshidama". Otoshidama is basically adults handing out cash to the kids(boy, it was great growing up in Japan!), and is a big part of the New Year traditions over there. So it's possible the delay won't hurt the launch in Japan as much as it would in the rest of the world.

Last week, my co-worker was telling me about the another GT4 delay he had heard from the GameCrazy Manager here in Oregon. I did my research, read about the Europe delay(but not U.S./Japanese.), then came the news that the game has gone gold.
Just like many of you, I've been waiting for this game since last January, so this is really testing my patience.

As the ealier posts were suggesting, unless they are adding Ferraris/Lamborghinis or Online Mode, this delay is amazingly careless on Sony and P.D.'s part.
 
So, I guess, onlline could be pretty much in then.

Or it is maybe backfire? Or 3D rims? Or Ferrari and Porsche? OMG, it is definatelly Ferrari and Porsche! With 3D rims and backfire! And tightassbiatchez on the finish line in 3D with backfire! Or is it maybe LeMans? Or is it Batman? :)

OT: I'd like to see Batmobil in GT4. It has historic ('60 original show) and modern version ('90 onwards), so some section with famous movie-cars would be more then welcomed - imagine this grid:

1. Batmobile '90 (Batman)
2. MM Interceptor (Mad Max)
3. Knight Rider (TV series)
4. Automans' Car (TV series)
5. MiB Nitro Beast (Man In Black)
6. Marion Cobretti's car (Cobra)

Back to delay. No, it is just one more very smart bussines decision in terms of not messing around with additional publicity towards one specific game in the same time when the new platform - PSP - is launching. Could be, yes?

The Power is strong with this Game...
 
I don't think they are going to have Ferraris or Online Mode. It's just amazing carelessness on Sony/P.D.'s part.

Fans of this game has been putting up with several delays for about a year now. If adding another delay for a good measure is a good business decision, future of Polyphony Digital is bleak.
 
Mmmmmmm, I can't believe all the invective and agro around here... It's not like it will make one blind bit of difference. I guess it might make some people feel better though.

Seems pretty childish to me 👎
 
They can't add something in 20 days. So the rumors that they will add something is stupid (before the shi t starts...). My question is still the same ; why Sony, why?
 
I hope they are right about the 12/20 U.S. release. Still though, it will be a very long week for me!

And this is definitely RUINING my Xmas break. I had scheduled in a good long 14 day GT4, non stop no sleep o thon, and now its been truncated to just 7. 7 days!!?!? That's like... nothing! I won't even be done with photo mode.

All kidding aside, whatever PD needs to do to make this game good, they should do it. It's a lot harder with a PS2 / Console game than with a PC game, if this was a PC title, it'd be shipped for Xmas, and patched later.. With PS2, theres no patching, so I'm hoping they caught a huge bug and are smashing it with a huge polyphonic digital flyswatter. I'd wait 2 more months to get a perfectly polished game than get it 2 months early and have something to complain about.
 
You know, if something gets released in a hastily short time, I can expect some poor quality stuff and can very well be content with it. If they're going to take their time, I'll demand great craftsmanship if not perfection. :ironfistofconsumer:

This delay can be understood. if you screw up several times, several MORE won't change anything. Like crashing your parents car. um ...bad comparison.
