Arms dealer had a Lvl 12 Shinzin-C for sale. I had one in Beta and it rocked so as it's better than my other Auto Rifles I grabbed it. Also picked up some new boots and a helmet out on Patrol taking me to 199 defence at Lvl 11.

I think that's the same auto rifle as the one I've got at the moment, I hardly ever use it though, every time I try to use something that isn't a hand cannon I get bored of being unable to stagger enemies for easy headshots (and my precision kills plummet as a result - I like that I usually score three times as many as anyone else I play with!) and just go back every time.

Since I've been playing on my brother's PS4, now that he's here I'm suddenly really, really bored. I think I'll buy the PS3 digital version... I'm sitting here watching him play and it's making me want to get on with it so much.

I got to level 2 in the crucible and bought my 2nd and 3rd piece of legendary gear and got to 26. Gonna give the raid a shot tonight with some friends. I think 2 of them are only 22s though so I doubt we stand a chance. Is there anyone in here that is around level 26 and wants to give the raid a try tomorrow evening around 9:30ish est. Time. We could use 3 guys that are high ranked to help us.

We are on ps4

Just tried the raid with 2 friends. 3 people don't cut it :). If anyone wants to help soon tonight with it I'll send you an invite

Yesterday I joined a Strike on the Moon. The other 2 guys litterally abandoned me in front of the final boss (damned cowards). Of course, all by myself I had not the slightest chance. I was ready to give up too when 2 guys dropped in (both level 20) and helped me with that ugly Ogre. That one was a great time, I looted a few engrams (some are blue ones) and reached level 19.
I'll have to return to that Moon strike mission, it is really cool.

^ I haven't done that one yet.

I did the new level 18 Raid and dropped on lucky with two random players and beat it the first time.

I'm closing in on level 21 now that I have three pieces of armour with light on them.

That is one great feature they recently added was the ability to have players come back into the strike battles. So if people do bail out, try to stay alive and hide and maybe others will re-join.
Also in their defense, they might not have left on purpose. I was in a 2 hour strike battle hard as heck and no joke, got disconnected with the enemy at about 2 health. It was the most angry I have ever been at this game. I actually had to take a long break after that happened. 2 hours gone....

6 person raid

More bad news about the 6 person raid
1. No matchmaking which means you can ONLY play this with friends. :(
2. Must be at least level 22 or 23 to enter. Pretty sure it is minimum level 23. :(

In all honesty I hate to say this but I feel I am already starting to lose interest in this game. Was really hoping the 6 player raids would provide the necessary option to allow more than 3 friends to play together. But not having a matchmaking for the raid is just a terrible idea. Getting 6 friends online at the exact same time during the week is not that easy. Not that it matters since I am not even a high enough level to enter the raid. So really if you are not high enough level, you STILL cant do anything with more than 3 friends other than the crucible vs multiplayer.

I'm still having fun, today I've gotten three more strange coins (up to 11 now), some ascendant shards and energy (7 of each), some more motes of light (now 23), completed a bounty for a strike I've only played once before, found all the golden chests on the Moon, completed three public events at gold tier in one patrol session (soloed a walker, found some people doing an extraction crew one when they were on the third tier and eliminated a target alongside a level 13 guy), completed all of today's Vanguard bounties and, best of all, I'm only 12 patrol missions away from Vanguard rank three. It'll be at least a week before I can actually buy any guns as I've just spent 60 of my weekly 100 Vanguard marks to buy the Dustwalker chest armour (so I'm now level 25 and a half) but still, I'm glad I can stop thinking about that soon. Although having said that I have to get started on the factions.

Could do with some help doing the weekly heroic strike on ps4 if anybody is up for it.

Is that the moon one?

Tried last night with 2 of us but hopefully gonna be trying again tonight if you still need it done?

This is nothing new. Bungie already announced this at the time of the Beta. As they say, a team of friends will be better when it comes to communicate for enhanced efficiency.
And I have to say that I agree. Chatting with friends as you play makes the game easier, as it allows better coordination for your actions. I find this game much funnier when playing and chatting with friends than by playing with "strangers".
What annoys me more is the fact that Raids can take several hours... I have a job and not enough time to do this in one go. I think I've read somewhere that Raids can be done in several sessions, however I'm not sure of this.

Maybe you should join a clan?
I did this, and now I have my usual friends and clan-mates for specifically decided missions, and I play with strangers when I'm going on casual playing.
Anyway, there are several trophies that require all players being from the same clan...

Lvl 23 won't cut it, check this out. That looks like it was damn tough to me!

Vanguard level 3 drops a gift for you at the postmaster... My gift contained a strange coin and the Proxima Centauri II legendary scout rifle. Nice!

I need to collect two more Hadronic Essence in order to Upgrade my helmet, but man its been so long since I've come across any gear that I can break down to obtain it. its so frustrating because its restricting me from leveling up the helmet any farther then that -.-

I feel your pain. I am half way between level 21 and 22 and am having a hard time getting the motivation to grind or get lucky gear to level up. Might try some strikes with randoms and see what happens. I just having to rely on "lucky" drops in order to level up the light in the game.

Or maybe I should put some more time into the multiplayer. I know you can get some good drops in there and level up faster. Ugh I just don't care that much for the multiplayer until they get an official big team battle playlist.

I guess I just set my expectations way too high for the 6 player raid that came out yesterday and not being able to play it. :guilty:

I would join you on those strikes, but with our gap in levels it would probably just make it worse for both of us.

Question, I got to the moon, but the strike isnt available on that yet. I have only completed the very first mission on it, so would that be the reason why it hasnt shown itself yet?

The crucible is the quickest way I've found to level up and get legendary weapons. If you do the bounties you'll get to level 2 crucible decently quick and can just buy legendary gear. Plus I've seen one match where someone got a yellow engram and two got a purple. I've got several purple and many many blue. My first pieces of purple actually came from blue engrams I got in the crucible.

And as for you not being able to play the raid, you really do need to be much much higher in rank. Even if you had 6 people who were 24s it would be damn near impossible to even open the door to the raid. Its as hard as they made it out to be.

It would just be very easy for me and my drops wouldn't be quite as good. BUT I still wouldn't mind playing with you. Always fun to play with friends and a bit boring by myself. I also have lower level characters I could use.

As for the strike, yes it will show up later as you get further in the moon storyline. Many things show up as you get higher in level. In fact when you hit 20, a LOT will show up for you.

I guess I will have to put more effort into the crucible. I really only like the Big team battle playlists and only a couple maps. But oh well I heard a BTB playlist is coming fairly soon which will be great.

As for the raid, I do understand I should be a higher level but I was at least hoping to see and at least try in there last night. I will have to put some more time into the mp to find more armor with light on it so I can level up. My top character is only 21 1/2 with maxed out light armor.

Woooooo finally got a rare piece of armor last night, Nemesis Plane II, as well as a rare Scout Rifle, the Naraka SR5.

Still no Legendary though.

The good thing about the crucible is how fast you level up your crucible rank. Once you become a level 2 you can buy legendary gear. As soon as I hit 2 I had enough to buy a chest plate and gauntlets.

I like competitive shooters anyway so the crucible isn't even a grind to me. Its much better than having to just keep doing the same strikes to y vanguard up.

Ive had one rare item since Level 10. At level 14 its still has better defense then anything I've come across. I'm hoping for a better chest peice, thats the only thing that is still common on my Guardian.

Most of my leveling up has been from Vanguard strikes. I cant remember what level those become available but once they do, that's when the game gets even more fun. Best part about vanguard strikes is they put other players in with you. And its drop in drop out. Spent most of my time in those. Obviously more fun with friends but can be fun with good randoms.

Oh, is there an easier way to earn Vanguard marks/points? I do bounties and the Patrol missions, but I still don't even have rank 1, or does it really take that long?

Really? I've had quite a few engrams drop and get some uncommon/rare pieces. I think I've only had 6/7 rare items total between Weapons and armor. A lot of the armor and weapon drops I get are duplicates of stuff I got already, or not as good.

The piece I got last night has 142 Defense and looks cool as hell.

Well from what I've read is that I cant get Vangaurd marks till level 18, so maybe thats when? Ima try power leveling sometime this week. Spent more then enough time taking it slow and wandering haha.

The easiest way is the strike playlists and public events for marks (and other things in the case of the public events), and for reputation you'll just have to keep to patrol missions and bounties.

What are the public events actually? The Orange/Blue markers that pop up during Patrols?

I've gotten a boatload of uncommon, but just one rare :( When I did the first Strike on earth I did manage to get alot of items, although only kept like 1-2 from what I gathered. I think I'll grind on those and just collect a bunch of things, plus its good for exp as well.

Just tried Control...

One team of 20+ against Mine, 20, 17, a 21, 12, 7 and 2.

gg on team balancing.

As we have said before, there is no trueskill matchmaking right now. Or if there is it sure as heck doesn't work anywhere near as good as Halo. Not by a longshot. Which surprises me since Bungie is the original creator and innovator of Trueskill matchmaking in the Halo series. It simply doesn't seem to exist in Destiny.

@CAMAROBOY69 Maybe that came from the COD side of things? :p

Thats a reason I'm hesitant to go into multiplayer until I get to at least level 20. I figured my socks would be rocked into another dimension. I also dont want to level up to fast as I'm barely at the 2nd mission on the Moon, and as I stand, I'm already to powerful.

Yup the lack of true matchmaking in the crucible multiplayer is 100% from Activision COD.

And yes if you go in as a lower level you will be wrecked. Sometimes you get lucky and take out 20s but one on one face to face, you will usually get destroyed. They simply have better armor, better weapons, better powers. No competition.
