Destiny: Become Legend (Now with More Iron!)

Finally got my first Legendary engram and it turned out to be a Scout Rifle, and couldn't be happier.

Especially seeing as that 🤬 decided to give me 3 uncommon pieces of armor with the last 3 blue engrams.
 
I'm Level 19 without a single rare, or higher, item. Is it easier to accumulate those in the Crucible? Main reason I was avoiding the Crucible is that I didnt want to level up to fast, but now that I'm one level from 20 it doesnt really matter.

I was sad, I had a Rare Engram, and it just gave me a strange coin :(

Yes just start playing the multiplayer. I leveled up insanely fast doing that last night just in a couple hours. I also actually had a great time too. Helped that I had 4 other friends in the mp with me. In case you missed my #570 post above, I am now level 22 1/2. Almost ready for the raid this weekend.

And as I said in that post, I can confirm 100% you MUST be level 23 to enter the raid. I highly recommend playing the 6 vs 6 capture objective modes.

Yeah, I even inspected your character last night, and was viewing your guy as you put on a piece of armor and leveled up haha.

I will definitely do that tonight. I plan to catch up to you by tomorrow :P

Oh cool! You should have joined our party. We had room for 1 more and we would have had an entire team. I will be on almost the entire weekend. So we should be able to play together at some point. If I have a party open, just hop in.

I had a couple of bounties that I wanted to get rid of, so I just went solo.

I did the strike mission on the moon, and the last boss was not hard, but just super annoying! Ran out of ammo so much. After that mission I managed to get a Scout Rifle that lets you shoot ammo and it'll pick it up for you. It would have came in handy during that boss fight, not after haha.

You have to keep moving around a lot for that strike. You got lucky that the strike was "easy" because you were a level 18/19. We had a team of 3 that went in as level 12/13 against that boss and got destroyed! Had to come back later as at least 14s.

On a side note I finally figured out how to find my total game time in Destiny via the bungie.net site.

I have around 45 total hours between the 3 characters. Not as much as I thought I had but I did take a break from Destiny this week.

The boss himself wasnt difficult, but when you are focusing on him and then enemies come out from the cracks behind you it got a bit annoying. Especially when its 3 wizards -.- How come some enemies levels are grey instead of red? Its only on enemies that are way lower levels then me.

That boss will dang near 1 hit kill you if you are a level 11/12. As a level 18/19 yes he probably will seem easy. As a 19 you could probably stand in his face and dance and just say...."don't care".... :lol:

Strike playlists pretty much guarantee you'll get given rare loot at the end. The problem is it gets very repetitive, I've done one strike four times today, another three times and I've only done one other... But at the end of every game I'm getting one or two blue drops, in addition to rare engrams that drop quite often in the game (maybe 1-2 per strike).

Edit: Did another strike (solo, as the other two dropped out, level 24 Mars one that isn't the one with the Flayers), and now I'm doing the strike I've already done three times again. So that's 10 strikes I've done today but I've only actually seen four different ones.

That is exactly what I was going to try out today. I did the Moon Strike mission, and it did give me rares, but I was to high a level for them :(

I'm sitting here at work, super tired and heavy eyes because I was playing all night. I tried to get to twenty, but I got half way through nineteen and started dozing off. Woke up 5 minutes later and just shut it down haha. Wont be home for about 7 hours.

That will happen until you get to the level 24 strikes, T12 and I were doing level 22 strikes and it was giving us level 18 gear, but that's still better than common stuff. When you get rare armour past level 20 it'll have Light, equip that to get your level up, play harder strikes, get better armour, etc. That's how it works if you do the strike thing. Or you could get to Vanguard level 2 and buy legendary armour instead, that also works.

There are about 5 different playlists now. I stick to 6 vs 6 conquest type game mode. Some of the maps in this mode have vehicles which I prefer vehicle maps. Soon they are supposed to come out with a big team battle type playlist which will ONLY be maps with vehicles. I will definitely be playing that playlist when it comes out. Its Bungie and this game will change every single week for sure. So it should only get better and better each week. My main focus right now is hitting 23 so I can play the raid this weekend.

On a side note I don't get sick of the strikes at all. I truly love boss battles so I play the strikes a lot. Especially the weekly and daily strikes along with vanguard strikes. That's why I cant wait to play the raid. An estimated 10 hour battle sounds so epic to me. Especially since we are able to save.

Yeah, the item was just to far out to be useful though so I had to break it down. I'll do the strikes, I like fighting for the weapons, plus you get XP as well. I get more satisfaction when I find something good laying around :p

Speaking of strikes, I was just doing the Venus one with the Fallen target, we nearly had it in the bag but one guy went down, I revived him and went down immediately after and then I saw in the spectator camera that both of them were AFK. Or AFC, I guess. I left in disgust but I found a couple of engrams so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

I am hoping they will implement an auto-kick feature if someone goes AFC too long. Some of these strikes can be an hour long so maybe after 5-10 minutes or something? Most every game out there has an auto-kick feature if someone is AFC too long. Even GTA5 has that now too. So I am sure they will add it eventually.

I can confirm that there is a kick feature. I was in that cave after you go down the path after the wrecked ships, on Earth. I left to go make some dinner and left my guy just standing there, I came back after I prepared everything and the game notified me that I was inactive for to long. It was about 10 minutes I think.
 
Alright, now I know how aggravating it is to get a blue drop and have it be a peice of armor you already have, just worse.

Or a shotgun.

Or a strange coin.

Since this is Bungie, I am sure there will be many more Halo and Master chief easter eggs. I wouldn't even be surprised to see 343 studios make a couple Destiny easter eggs for Halo 5. Most of these people spent the majority of their lives together.
 
I was looking forward to seeing what Xur was selling today, but I don't think I'll buy that armour; I just bought some chest armour the other day so I think I'll keep waiting until I get an exotic helmet since my helmet and boots are both rare while my gauntlets and chest are legendary and you can only wear one piece at a time. I also have an exotic machine gun so I think I'll pass on that launcher too.

Oh yeah, in case you weren't aware, Xur isn't where he was last week. He's standing in front of the big gate across from where The Speaker's place is, I only just found him.

I was curious how to find this info? Care to share where on .net to find it?

EDIT: I literally found it after asking, no worries. For anyone looking, it is located when you click on your Character/Legend on left side of bungie.net- located within the circle right of character pic.

I was a little late to the reply but yes make sure to click the character legend on the left of the screen. Then click each individual character you have. I have 3 so I have 3 pages of stats.

For some reason, I do not have any pictures of my armor on that site. So I might have to use my camera to get pics for the destiny armor thread.

don't be upset about the strange coins. You will want all you can get later. Its way way better than a blue drop. You can buy exotic gear with it.
