Back online, just going for a ten minute drink break so I'll join again when I'm ready.

I've just got back on too, invite me if you're doing anything. I'm going to go turn in that legendary engram first though, even though it's a heavy weapon one and I already have an exotic. Did I mention that like three hundred times?

Edit: I see the daily heroic has finally reset, I imagine I might be able to get some rewards for doing public events too now. Also I got The Swarm from that engram so I broke it down. You get ascendant energy from breaking down legendary guns, apparently. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have done that since you can only have one exotic equipped at a time, I'm sure I'll find (or buy) another before I get another exotic though. I just noticed that put me quite close to ranking up again so I bought more engrams to tip me over the edge, my gift contained a legendary leg armour engram so I'm finally level 26 with Dustwalker legs, arms and chest so next week I'll be buying the Dustwalker helmet to finish the set.

I'm going to play with another friend, I haven't been able to play with him all week. Sorry guys.

No worries. I'll invite you in a little bit, neema.

I remember someone in this thread saying they had an exotic bounty but it required a 25 crucible K/D. I got one that was a 3 part bounty and the second part was to get a 25 K/D spread in the crucible. It's not the same as a 25 K/D. With the spread you only have to get 25 more kills then deaths.

It took me 3 games and was actually pretty easy. It counts assists toward the kills. So If anyone gets that bounty don't think it's a25 K/D ratio. I ended up completing the entire bounty and getting a shotgun. Worked out great because it's really my most used special in the crucible. It was actually a pretty easy exotic bounty.

1st beat 5 strikes without dying, then get the 25 k/d spread and then beat a weekly challenge.

The disconnects are too strong right now. I'm just gonna ease back for a while until later on this evening. :grumpy:

I think I'll try soloing Xyor the Unwed. Wish me luck/feel free to drop in and see how it's going!

Edit: I think @dhandeh would agree with me when I say: Nope, not happening!

I'm now level 20 3/4.

Stupid question... How do I tell what my vanguard rank/progress is?

Go to the Vanguard QM or your class QM in the Tower.

@dhandeh, @neema_t - so am I being quartered now?

I have no idea what's going on, when I arrived there was an absolutely massive battle going on and it was crazy.

And yes, I did just try to push you off a cliff. And yes, I killed myself by mistake instead.

I noticed. I was saying "Stop that." to my TV.

Just picked this up from a Legendary Engram:

I've got the same one, it's decent from the start but just wait until you get the later upgrades, then it really starts to make sense. The only problems with it are the recoil, the fact that you can't have recoil reduction and a bigger magazine and the second upgrade - firing faster and more accurately the longer you fire it - is kind of a lie; faster yes, more accurately? Hell no!

Angry Joe review is brilliantly funny and accurate. Language warning of course.

I've quite literally run out of things to do for the rest of the week, my choices are: try to farm for fusion rifles (I've done a lot of strikes the past two days and had nothing but armour engrams), try to kill Xyor (no thanks) or just sit in a field and shoot endless streams of Hive pouring out of a cave with maybe six or seven other people - tried it, not a fan, I'd rather do strikes. But I'm bored of those now.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm going to be farming helium filaments on the Moon until I reach 200, I'm already halfway there, then I might go to Venus. If anyone wants to join, first of all I'm sorry, secondly my fireteam is open.

I may join later and just do patrol missions while you're collecting stuff.

When you guys team up, send me an invite. I'll be treasure cave farming for a little bit.

Again.

So my internet just disconnected midway through a strike and I'd picked up a legendary engram.

I better not have lost it.

As long as it spawns, you should be okay. If i'm understanding it correctly, it should be with the postmaster.

I picked up a legendary yesterday when you, @Terronium-12 and I were doing Dust Palace right before the servers went down and I still had it, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Also I just got to 200 helium filaments so that was about 89 pickups in under an hour, as I was away from my TV for the first ~10 minutes. That first area is actually really good for farming because you can see a lot of spots from most other spots. Also, thanks for doing those missions while I was gone.

Edit: I finally got a special weapon engram, and it contained: A mote of light. Grrrr. Fusion rifles do not exist any more, I'm sure of it.

I think I'm on the same exotic bounty as you, since I got it i've had one rare fusion rifle.

Before the bounty I could've sworn I'd dismantled at least half a dozen.

I thought the same thing but me and a friend tried that out. We left orbs behind without picking them up and neither of us had one at the postmaster. I'm not sure how those lost items really work.

Yeah, the day before yesterday I had more than I knew what to do with (not true, I just dismantled them), got the bounty and now I've found nothing since.

Were they green? It only works for rare or higher, and it works fine for me.

Edit: So, I, uh... I've got 202 spinmetal, 200 helium filaments and 100 spirit blooms. Not much relic iron though, it's quite hard to spot (also I hardly ever patrol Mars). On Tuesday I'll be trading it all in for Crucible marks so if I remember correctly I should have 50 without doing any PvP at all, also leaving me with 195xp left to complete rank 1. I'm glad you can rank up the other factions by doing Vanguard actions while wearing one of their capes because if I had to do it all in the Crucible I'd just never bother. Is farming for resources boring? Yes. Do I enjoy it more than actually playing PvP? Yes. It's relaxing rather than 'how on Earth did he melee me from across the room and after I killed him?' annoying.

@Clark, @neema_t - Always a pleasure. 👍

As for the bounty, I've only been able to decode a rare engram into a rare fusion rifle on one occasion. I currently have a legendary one (I forget the name) but I'm not dismantling it because I need something out of this exchange, and beside that it would only bring the total up to 7 - not worth having no fusion rifle.

Couple of pictures showing off my exotic warez.

The helm is most beneficial to Striker-class Titans as one of the perks allows you to use Death From Above and Headstrong while using the Fist of Havoc. The chest piece allows you to revive and be revived quicker and generate more orbs after using your super.

The plan of attack is to get a legendary helm of some kind, swap, and then work on leveling the chest piece so I can interchange between the two on a whim when necessary and use Defender.

Meanwhile, my plan of attack is to get an exotic piece of armour. And a legendary helm, which I will be able to do next week after the mark reset (it'll be the Dustwalker one to complete the set).

I might have a problem, I went to do some more patrol missions on Earth so I'd be able to hit Vanguard rank 6 and I ended up finding - honestly without much hunting - 49 more spinmetal, so I'm on 251 now. I'm also only 250xp away from Cryptarch rank 16, I've pretty much been ranking that up twice a day for the past three days. What that says about me, I don't know, I don't think I want to know either.

For anyone wanting to boost their Vanguard rank quickly, you might want to watch this:

In my experience what really slows it down is the delay between completing a mission and the next one appearing so to have three people covering most of the map would speed things up a lot. One thing I want to test is if I'm in, say, The Divide and someone else in the same fireteam is farming the loot cave, will engrams that drop there - that I never see or go near - go to my postmaster when we leave? I suppose they wouldn't but it'd be cool if they did.

Oh. Well, now i'm curious on how that works too.

'Nother exotic weapon:

It's so sad when you get a legendary engram and it turns into a rare Level 16 pulse rifle.. Even more sad when I'm level 23 :(

Anyone know what the shield like emblem at the top left of the world select menu is?

@neema_t how many crucible marks do you get for trading in each resource. The 100 cap a week takes me about a day to get and it's keeping me from buying weapons. I might be able to stay trading in some stuff. I only need about 100 spin metal and maybe 100 relic iron and helium and I will have enough to upgrade my armor then I could trade in for crucible marks to buy weapons instead of waiting for my next 100 from the crucible.
