Ok I went there and there's no chests or anything?
I specifically sent you a link to the post that shows a video of exactly what to do. Did you not click the link at all?? :dunce::dunce:

I watched it, but it just mentions a loot cave, I didn't know what to do there. I was travelling to there while watching the video so maybe I wasn't concentrating as much as I should have.

I'm not sure about the first video, but the second video explains exactly what to do.

You just stand off at a distance(the video recommends a spot to stand at) and wait for the enemies to respawn. You have to kill all enemies that come out of the cave in order for more to respawn.

Wait, kill, repeat until you run out of ammo. By then you should be able to run into the cave and have all the ammo you need, as well as engram pick ups.

Yeah after I posted in here some guys were there doing it. I did it for five mins and got bored, got one blue and two greens from it.

For 5 minutes thats really good haha. Its really only a means for the desperate. With the horrible drop rates of this game it seems to be attracting alot of attention. If they would just make strike/crucible/patrol drops more worth it, and actually based around your level, then it wouldnt be necessary.

I for one am desperate, haha.

So far I've gotten three legendary pieces from the Queen - two helms and chest armor.

The chest armor is slightly inconvenient as not only do I already have a legendary chest piece, but I have an exotic in the queue which I was waiting to purchase a legendary helm to use and now I don't have to. :D

I'm not even going to buy a weapon because who knows what I'll get next.

Anybody up for helping me doing the weekly heroic at level 26?(or maybe even 28).

Anybody up for helping me doing the weekly heroic at level 26?(or maybe even 28).

I can help out in a little bit, sure.

So this Queen's Wrath stuff, I did a bounty, then did a mission and got a helmet. I did another bounty but no new mission appeared, do I just do the same one again?

So I'm going to be playing the PS3 version until Thursday, maybe Friday, the low resolution makes long-range loot spotting quite difficult... What's the deal with the Queen, then? Do a bounty, unlock a mission, do the mission and get loot?

Edit: just got another exotic bounty. I'm going to have to complete one soon or I'm going to have no bounty slots left!

Yes.

And I seriously got caught up in completing another kill order only to get another chest piece. :grumpy:

EDIT: That was actually directed toward @Clark, but it works for you too. :p

5 Queen's Wrath missions I did. 5 times I received the same god damn cloak.

Fine. I'll take your cloak.

In other news, I finally have my faction to rank 2 so I can finally buy some legendary armor. :D

Hmm, I'm starting to lose patience with this game now.

I can't play Crucible because I don't have exotic/legendary weapon 34252 so I can't beat anyone in a straight up firefight because they're all level 26+ with all the best gear, upgrades, etc.

I can't play the raid(s) because my gear isn't good enough/level high enough (nor do I have 5 other people wanting/able to play it).

I can't play the Queen's mission either (kill the Kell Darksis) because every enemy one hit kills me and noble shanks take 3 full magazines of 213 damage auto rifle to drop their shields and I'm unfortunate in that I can't play at a time when I can get friends to help me (seemingly this mission is impossible on your own due to the 'darkness zones').

The only thing I can just about play and enjoy is the strikes and even they are ruined by the fact that I'm massively outclassed by all my teammates so feel like I am functional in only a medic role.

It's not like I've not played this game either, I'm level 23 yet it still seems like I'd do more damage to my enemies if I threw my gun at them rather than try to shoot them.

I just don't get it, I must be missing something seriously obvious?

I'd say I must just be useless but I land a good majority of my shots, engage in hand to hand combat and make use of my special when it seems appropriate. I just don't seem to do any real damage with anything though?

Ranking up is now painfully slow since it appears to be based around total luck or grinding (which would be OK if I could actually grind the missions/play crucible but it's not fun when you're dying over and over).

For reference I'm playing as a level 23 Titan (striker sub class with: pulse grenade, catapult, shockwave, amplify, Codex 2, Codex 4, Transfusion and shoulder charge equipped) along with 778 defence, 35% intellect, 30% discipline, 53% strength, 219 attack scout rifle, 213 attack sniper rifle and 213 attack machine gun.

I was enjoying this game up until I reached level 20 and ever since then it's just fell off a cliff for me, I want to enjoy it again but every mission/match just frustrates me, the matches because I'm outclassed seemingly by everyone and the missions because of the weird tendency to have some ridiculously strong enemies (level 24 noble shanks springs to mind!) which makes the mission impossible on your own. The game has to be playable as a single player game for me and right now it just isn't.

Any suggestions? at all? (other than stop sucking so much :p )

@Clark - Sorry I never showed up. I got caught up in everything possible. :guilty:

Work on your Vanguard rank and claim all 100 of your weekly marks, buy legendary armour when you reach rank 2 (starting with the pieces that'll give you the biggest boost in light over what you currently have), I think two pieces of legendary and two rare (level 20) should put you on level 25 when upgraded up to the point where you need ascendant material. Then you basically just need to find people who can help get you through level 24 strikes (Vanguard Tiger playlist) so you have a full set of rare level 20 guns and that'll stand you in pretty good stead, after that it's either reliant on luck in finding legendary engrams or levelling Vanguard to 3 and beyond since every rank from (and including 3) will give you a gift at the postmaster containing a Vanguard legendary, though that can include class items and probably armour too. I've had three legendary guns and a cloak from Vanguard rank ups. Ranking up takes a while but so does everything else in the game, if you do your Vanguard bounties every day, some strikes and patrol missions you should be able to get 600-700 points a day, maybe 1000 if you really go for it or if you co-ordinate your grinding with friends, I've posted a video twice now about an effective method but you need to be surprisingly organised to get the best of it.

The ranking up tip goes for the Crucible too I think; from rank 3 and on you most likely get a Crucible legendary on every rank up. Also the Cryptarch will give you engrams - sometimes legendary ones - for ranking up so you can get gear that way but it's very low yield. I throw away most of what he gives me, but I have had two exotics from him. Which is actually all of the exotics I've had so far, come to think of it! I suppose the three other factions also give you stuff for rank 3 and beyond but I have yet to even reach rank 1 for any of them.

Actually you've just pointed out something I think might be important! as soon as I was rank 20 I purchased a dead orbit cloak, I'm actually not far off rank 2 now but obviously I've not been ranking up my vanguard or crucible rank because of it, that's probably what's making it even slower for me?

@Tiddy
You don't need crazy legendary and exotic gear to compete in the crucible. I've got all kinds of it and I use a rare auto rifle. You just have to shoot people right in the face and use weapons that suit you play style and character.
Headshots are a must in the crucible and using shotguns in close quarters really helps.
Unless you want to really grind the story the crucible is a great place to rank up fast. You usually get decent gear every other round and you level up your crucible rank decently fast.

Or just say screw it and cave loot the spot and upgrade your cryptarch rank crazy fast and you'll have legendary everything in no time.

I tried that "loot cave" last monday. I just got bored after 5 minutes, but I kept shooting for 20 minutes. I just got a few green loots and a couple of blue ones but no legendary.
I will not try this again, it's just too boring, there is no fun at all. I much prefer going on strike or patrol missions to upgrade my ranks.

I only just found out last night that you can do the daily and weekly heroics on higher difficulties for better rewards, I tried the daily on level 28 (I'm 26) and got smooshed by a major centurion because I didn't have a good solar weapon, tried again and got smooshed by a colossus instead because he, well, killed me dead. I want those ascendant materials x3 though, man...

Also I decided to just farm the last 150 resource items I need so I did hit the weekly 100 Crucible mark cap yesterday without touching Crucible. I don't think I'll do that every week, especially since I only got 500XP for it, I don't know what I would've gotten for playing enough rounds to get all the marks but last week I got something like 1000XP before I got bored of playing it which wasn't that many rounds. I'm sitting at 1480/1500XP so I may actually play a round tonight to get to rank 1, maybe I'll just do some bounties and missions on Earth though and hoover up all the resources I can find.

Destiny really seems to of changed their mind on how hard it is to get good loot and materials. In about 15 minutes last night me and 3 friends each got about 50 relic irons and with how easy the queens bounties are legendary items are a dime a dozen now. After one bounty last night I got a legendary sniper and helmet.
One of the chests in mars even gave a friend 11 relic irons, 2 blue engram's and a purple engram.
I should be able to max out all my stuff pretty easily if the queens bounties respawn every day. Ascendant shards will be much easier to get with all the legendary items their giving away.

FINALLY!!!! Last night I unlocked not only my very first Legendary, but my 2nd legendary right after that. Both from doing missions for the queen. My friend and I actually both got our first and second legendary items at the same time from both games. First mission I unlocked the Queens Guard Robes and he unlocked a queens helmet. Second game I unlocked a queens helmet and he unlocked queen robes. It worked out 100% perfect for both of us. Just pure luck..... FINALLY!!

But the 2nd mission for the queen was very difficult for us. We were both 24 doing a 24 "Very Hard" mission. Ended up being the last boss battle of the game and we were getting wrecked. The enemy would kill us in 1 shot and I was out of ammo. Finally after dying about 20 times, I received sniper ammo and put about 8 shots directly into the enemies weak spot which finally killed it!!

I am now level 25 1/3. :D

I think they punish PS3 players by not giving us any legendary drops.

As I said I just now finally got my first legendary drop after 61 hours of gameplay. So they punish X1 players too. On that level 25 character I have 41 hours. So it took me 41 hours to get a legendary.

If you watch some of the livestream farming guys, they get purple drops like every 10 minutes. Ridiculous.

Last 3 times I've done it, I've seen 3 people get Legendary Drops.

Too bad this wasn't GTA and you could murder them.

Doesn't mean anything. That is just a "possibility" to get a purple item. I got 7 purple drops from farming and those only converted to blue items.

So it took me 41 hours to finally get my first official legendary. And it wasn't until I was level 24.

Too bad this wasn't GTA and you could murder them.

Are they actually legendary items, or just legendary "encrypted engrams" that become blues? What levels are they? All the friends that I know that get legendary items are over level 24. That seems to be the magic level to actually start unlocking true legendary items.

I haven't even gotten purple engrams. Nothing. This game is just a timewaster. Totally sucks without people in your fireteam.

What level are you? And yes this game is quite boring by yourself. I pretty much only play it with friends.

I play alone on Xbox 360, level 21 and absolutely no legendary weapons nor can I survive the queens mission.

Played all day and still didn't level up to 22.

Getting really bored of being stagnant.
