I wonder what the level cap is.

I barely found out last night that upgrading defense on your armor brings its light up a couple of points haha.

And that's where @neema_t comes in handy. Just spent half hour following him around Venus looking for Spirit Bloom. He is like a pig looking for truffles! Went from 1 to 60 odd!

I needed 16 to upgrade my helmet - you may have noticed I levelled up while we were playing - but now I can trade in for some Vanguard marks too, so that's nice. Thanks for joining me for those Queen's Whatever events, you got to see me receive my fourth and fifth helmets and my third chest armour, some other guns would be nice but RNGesus abides. Then again I do have 30 ascendant shards now which is pretty sweet, I think I was stuck on 11 for ages before the Queen's Whatever event started.

People have mentioned about receiving a legendary Queens sniper rifle, I would rather have one of them instead of a 6th chest plate. I now have enough Spirit Bloom to upgrade my current chest armour and my Legendary rocket launcher. Just need ascendant shards now, as I dismantling them is only giving me two instead of yesterdays 3 per item.

Someone told me last night the current cap is 30. Which sounds about right because I have seen a couple level 29's and one of the strikes requires level 28. I am sure by this weekend I will start seeing level 30s.
 
@Clark - If you still want to do the heroic stuff tomorrow I'll be available. :D

It's really hard. We had 2 28s and a 26 and we haven't beat one yet. Everything has crazy shields and just about every modifier there is. It's a whole different level than anything else I've tried.

Trying out at the crucible, getting MVP regularly (with my smexy hand cannon skills) but being stuck with crap teams so still lose.

Not trying free for all as it just becomes people running around with shotguns.
 
Tomorrow it is. Hopefully my brother won't decide to be on all night, not sure why he's not playing now actually.

I just noticed @Terronium-12 got his Pocket Infinity, I'm still stuck at 4/10 fusion rifles dismantled, I can't find the damn things anywhere so I'm putting all my faith in the gunsmith selling some, at one point today he had two rare shotguns and a rare something else too so it'll happen eventually I guess. The other bounty I picked up the other day (was it yesterday?) is for the automatic shotgun that I've completely forgotten the name of; 5 strikes without dying is the first objective, 25 more kills than deaths in a round of Crucible (should be doable, my best is 40 kills with a 3.40 ratio so that's got to be enough) and I forget the rest. Still need to do the Thorn, too.

Its to the point that I'm scared to even bring any engrams to him :( Legendaries don't bring me joy when I find them anymore. Just fear of what may happen.

Why?

I've gotten three (3) exotics in one day: Pocket Infinity, Plan C (another fusion rifle with arc damage), and Mask of the Third Man.

And I'm here, getting 1 legendary in about two weeks. Yes, I do hate you.

I got my first legendary armor doing the Kell mission strike on Venus. It's weird. It's hard as hell to knock out the Shanks but there's a ridiculous easy exploit in the final battle vs. Darksis. If you stand at the bottom of the stairs he can target you and shoot at you but neither he nor his guards/soldiers can approach you and surround you. Just hide in the alcoves.
 
Hmm, just got a Class Item Decoherent Engram while doing a mission.

Who wants to bet on what it'll be?
 
I'm having an odd problem. Anything that requires xbox live gold is locked on Destiny. I can't go to the crucible, I can't do strikes, or even enter in te daily strikes. Even when I go to the tower there was only about 3 other players.. It was like a ghost town. Anyone have an idea of what's going on?

EDIT: well I went to earth, shot one bullet and got disconnected. Decided to fully quit the game from the main menu, and that seemed to work.

I've been having issues with Live the last few hours over here.
 
@Terronium-12 how'd you get the Mask of the Third Man? Xûr was selling that on the first weekend but I didn't have enough strange coins to buy it (I think I now have over 40), I want one... I did get my Thorn tonight though, I managed to solo the strike as far as killing Xyor then I quit. I really do not understand the business with the Shrieker, knights and wizards that just randomly appear and disappear. Also I managed to kill Xyor without realising as I never actually saw the wizard's name, I killed it with a trip grenade and two rockets that were fired pre-emptively at where I knew the wizard was heading, I didn't even see the rockets hit either as I was hiding behind a wall in the Corridor of Cheese. I only realised when the bounty popped up as complete.

I got that and Plan C from legendary engrams. That I turned in. At the same time.

I have it recorded and everything. :lol:
 
Easiest would probably be to purchase the engrams/items from the exotic vendors on the weekends. That requires strange coins/motes of light.. I forget which. Other then that its mostly just luck.[/QUOTE]

I decided to stop being so precious about ascendant shards, I had about 30 so now I'm level 28 without any exotic armour. If anyone's interested you need 98 light to get there, which is a full set of legendary armour with six ascendant shard upgrades. I've kind of put all my hopes into finding or buying an exotic helmet before any other armour since I've spent all my shards on my gauntlets and chest armour (I also just this second upgraded the leg armour once after getting my seventh Queen's helmet thing), but either way I'm not really intending to keep this helmet I got from the Queen since it's a bit ugly. I'll probably end up buying the Dustwalker one since I've got Dustwalker everything else, that is if Xûr isn't selling an exotic hunter helmet this weekend.

I've got a good feeling about the gunsmith today, he'll be selling rare fusion rifles at some point, I just know it. Come on, guy, you know you want to.

Completed a few more missions for the Queen last night. 2 missions were very easy, 1 was a bit more challenging. Earned 3 more legendary items from her. 2 were helmets and the other was a robe. 1 of the helmets I actually like better than the helmet I got Tuesday night. The helmet I unlocked last night "Replenishes super energy when I kill an enemy with a grenade". :)

I sold the other 2 legendary items since they are only for this character. Also had the potential for at least 6 more legendary encrypted items which obviously were just blue rares. In fact I already know each time I will not get a legendary from the Cryptard. So at least now I can grind Legendary items from the queens missions while they last. I will also need some resources from Venus before I can even level up my helmet.

I had noticed that I had enough Vanguard points to buy either a pair of gloves or some boots. Went with the boots as the defense was more with the upgrade. It also threw me from 24 3/4 to 25 1/2 which was good. I also got 2 legendary engrams from farming.. guess what? One of them actually turned into a Legendary Special weapon. I got the machine gun "The Culling" I've yet to try it out because I passed out as soon as I got it.

I'm not sure that I'm going to be using that loot cave anymore.. I'm not sure I really like the idea of it. Its a guilty pleasure I guess.

Thats awesome you were able to actually buy legendary gear. You are the same level as me now. You caught up really quick.

Congrats on finally getting something from an encrypted legendary item. Must feel good. haha

As for the cave, it is indeed quite boring and very rare I ever get anything from it. I don't feel guilty using the cave because I put well over a solid 45 hours into this game before using the cave. I feel like I deserve a reward from all the hard work. So to use it once in a while doesn't bother me but its not something I can sit and do for an extended amount of time. I usually just do it to chill before getting off the game for the night. Nice way to wind down. Hopefully eventually we can hook up together and play again. Especially now that we are the same level.
