I thought you were both talking but I couldn't make anything out over the explosions, gunfire and beeping of my shield being depleted. If I was a smoker I'd definitely have stepped out for a cigarette after that round, though, in my mind I was going "Don't fall off, don't die, don't accidentally blow yourself up, don't fall off..." but on the outside I was dancing, plinking, running out of ammo and dancing some more.

And we'll have to do it again on Tuesday.

They said they want players to make their own legends, right? Well, my legend is of a robot who dresses like an alien, dances when under duress and points a lot.

Yes yes, Destiny is down for all of us.

So, with this downtime: I'm so close to 28 but am short ascendent shards. RNGeesus, give me some legendary engrams! I will praise you more than I praise GabeN! Okay, not really but I'd still like some :(

@Terronium-12, Bad Juju is awesome foo', whatchu talkin' bout? Instant reloads after killing stuff? That gun is a Rambo Rusher's dream. Run around and shoot from the hip.

Let's go through the ways in which Bad Juju isn't awesome (at the moment):

- 3 shot burst with a 15 round magazine. The gun is fully automatic. That's already a somewhat dreadful combination.
- The recoil, while it isn't horrible, unless you spend enough time with it to temper it before stabilizing it you're going to waste at least 1-2 rounds. There's a stabilization upgrade but guess what - the impact rating is affected which is already absurdly low.
- The impact stat is... ridiculous. Unless you're landing constant crits you're wasting ammo, even more so if you stabilize the recoil.

Bad Seed Down is a better weapon and that's Legendary. Crusader I is a better weapon and it causes enemies to explode when precision killed. Pocket Infinity eats it alive before and especially after its namesake perk. Plan C eats it alive. Hell, the shotgun I got from the Crucible eats it alive.

That rare handcannon I have fully upgraded eats it alive (okay, apples to oranges but a point all the same). The only thing Bad Juju has going for it right now are its exotic looks and the awesome particle effects.

I was forced to pick this game up by my friend. I knew nothing about it besides that Bungie made it and that it looked great. So you know, I'm a big fan of the Borderlands series and I couldn't help but remark at how similar Destiny is to B'lands. Like seriously everything, it was crazy! I didn't expect that at all, I thought it was going to be more like Halo, which I was kind of fearing.

It made it much easier for me to want to get into the game, but we ended up finishing the story in like three days (had a lot of time this past weekend), and I have no feeling of wanting to keep leveling or replaying or whatever like I did with B'lands. I'll come back for the DLC I guess. Still, it was a lot of fun playing with my friend. But I don't think it deserves nearly all the hype it got. Played as a Warlock, powers felt great, I used mostly pulse rifle with a fusion or sniper rifle as secondary.

While there's a lot of things Borderlands did better (great article about that here), there are some things I wish Borderlands would learn from: seeing other players in the field with you, having a PVP system and complimentary PVP currency system for better armor (Crucible was a lot funner than I expected), and the vehicle variety.

But yeah, solid game.

FINALLY earned my first legendary weapon over the weekend after completing one of the queen missions. It is a really good sniper rifle called the Supremacy. Been truly enjoying this weapon.

I also almost had a chance to buy the exotic auto rifle over the weekend but I only had enough time to collect 22/23 strange coins Saturday night / sunday morning. So close but I will just have to wait until next weekend when Xur is restocked.

At this point I simply don't ever seen the raid happening. Trying to get 6 players together at the same will all the planets stars aligned in time to do this seems dang near impossible at this point. Maybe in a month when more friends are higher levels it might be possible, but right now its just not happening.

I'm not sure whats so special about the exotic shotgun "Invective", other then that its more powerfull. Its Automatic, but by the second shot your reticule is already sky high that its pretty much useless. That, and it shoots slower in full auto then shotguns that are semi-auto. Also, why does it reload so damn slow!

@CAMAROBOY69 I got back sunday night, and I wanted to do the weekly heroic mission on level 26, so that way it gives me three strange coins. I needed 3 more coins to get the exotic helm for my Warlock :(. I got back on Sunday, but no one was on, and now I'm sad because its going to reset soon.

I'm Level 27.5 right now, still wish I had some sort of Legendary Primary. Its not so bad though because my Legendary Machine gun is great, and maybe I can give this stupid shotgun a chance. That aside, so far we have 3 that are willing.. Me, you, and @dice1998. I have a friend, but hes taking forever to level up, hes having a hard time finding armor. Hopefully he can make atleast 26 by this weekend. I also have some others on my list that might be able to join, I just dont know if they are willing to do it, I dont talk to them much.

I love the exotic shotgun. Its my favorite weapon on the game so far. One clip will kill almost anything in the game and it destroys people in the crucible.

I have yet to actually try it because as soon as I got it on Friday I had to go to sleep. I just cant understand why it reloads so ridiculously slow. I did think that it would come in handy in some high level PVE games though, I was using a rare shotty in the Raid and it wasn't all that bad. That being said I suppose this would be miles better. I used to have some of my armor set up for Shotguns, but have recently changed that over to hand cannons, so that's a bummer.

I bought some legendary gloves from the Vanguard and stupid me forgot to check the perks. There was one that had increased reload speed for hand cannons, and one that had increased reload speed for auto rifles. I just picked one as I was excited to get my last peice of legendary gear, and picked the wrong one :( So not only did I lose the reload speed that I had from the rare pare I had, but I gained it in a weapon I dont use, or havnt even had in so long.

It's strong enough that one clip and a melee will kill the big guys at the beginning level of the raid.

A question for you guys...
Are there diffent "Queen's Wrath" rewards when you level up with the Queen? I only get legendary armor items (got a helmet twice and chest armor three times, but no gloves or boots...).

I've only ever had a helmet (must be >10 now) and chest armour (probably about 6 times) in addition to The Supremacy (twice) that @CAMAROBOY69 mentioned.

@ImaRobot I like the Invective but I can't help but feel it'll be a lot more useful with the lower recoil upgrade. Right now my Invisible Hand M7 feels more useful.

If I can manage to find some armor to help out with that reload speed, then maybe I wouldnt feel so ripped off. I'll give it a thorough try today, and see if I can sway my opinion on it.

Your overall feedback of the game is pretty much the same for most of us. After you finish the main "story" of the game, not really a story at all, the only thing left is basically grinding and LUCK. Because once you hit 20 that's what it takes to level up any higher.

I feel on a daily basis like I have to force myself back into the game. Really was hoping they would add some new content or storyline to Destiny every week to help keep it alive. The 3 player co-op really kills the buzz. So many times I have a 4th or 5th person that wants to play, but we cant play anything together besides multiplayer or raid. So I really struggle to keep interest in this game. So I really struggle keeping interest in this game hoping maybe after a few days something new would come or an expansion to the story. On top of that it is so discouraging to have your possible legendary encryptions turn into blue items 99.999999% of the time.

Tuesday there is a rumor that the cryptard will provide better loot return. So hopefully that will help. Because right now out of over 20 purple encrypted items I have turned in, 0 of them have been legendary. So for me his legendary return is 0%.

That's not up to Bungie, though, and if you look at the links @Tired Tyres and I posted earlier on you may see that Activision have really messed with Bungie. This, for example, from here:

Along with Bungie's Lead Writer departing for unknown reasons, we can't forget about Marty O'Donnell being fired too. We're all aware that the situation had to do with salary, but when Marty left, there was a clear bitterness between him and Bungie. Bungie had changed, and the lead writer had recognized it too. Was it Activision? Probably. But we're not being told the full story and I don't expect us to find out unfortunately.

I know you're a big Halo fan but it would appear that the Bungie behind Destiny is not the same Bungie that was behind Halo, this is just what Activision does, though. Simply put, they are toxic; it's no doubt their fault that Destiny ended up the way it was - story ripped out at the last minute, simplified, genericised and basically trashed in the name of 'safety', content cut and held back for DLC (since a lot of the DLC content is already in the shipped game) - and they'll kill the game long before ten years is up, I'm sure. I'm happy to play it for now but I'm already starting to get really, really bored of the PvE stuff, when I've reached rank 3 with the three factions I don't know what I'll do next to keep enjoying the game, really. I guess there's the raid, but after completing that on both difficulties, what else is there?

Got an exotic pulse rifle from a legendary engram today. First time that's happened. I've noticed though that since I got a legendary warlock bond I've been getting much better decryptions. I haven't had a legendary turn rare there last maybe 5 times. Before they all did. I don't know if it's just coincidence but it seems like the warlock bond effects the descriptions. I've also seemed to be getting more legendary drops. I've had more purple drops in the last 4 or 5 days then the rest of the time I've played the game.

Yup as feared, Activision has made some really terrible decisions with Destiny. Lack of trueskill matchmaking in Multiplayer is the main issue. 3 player co-op is the other major issue. Loot system needs quite a bit of work. I realize its an MMO so hopefully it will improve over time. I just shouldn't have to struggle to want to play a game. Which is what happens daily with Destiny for me.

Anyone that is a fan of Halo and Bungie, can see and tell the decisions made with Destiny definitely were not all up to Bungie. Activision clearly had a huge chunk of the decision making.

So for their sake, lets hope they do something dramatic to improve Destiny by the time The Master Chief collection comes out in November. Otherwise I see myself and many of my friends moving on from Destiny back into the Halo universe.

I forgot to mention I did buy an exotic helmet this weekend but it ended up being for a different character. So that is good and bad.

Received my third Missive earlier today and I abandoned it.

Why? I want Super Good Advice and "A Voice in the Wilderness" wasn't one of the available bounties, yet I could have gotten Bad Juju again. Why, game?

I had the same thing, I think they have two sets of three and they don't seem to be mixed up at all. You either get the Thorn, Invective and Bad Juju or Super Good Advice, Pocket Infinity and the Fate of all Fools, so there's a 50:50 chance you'll get offered the one you want I guess. RNGesus is truly omnipresent.

Also, shall we try the nightfall tomorrow? Might as well get the 25% XP boost at the start of the week (if possible) since it applies to everything, even engrams, bounties and resource trading... I've noticed my desire to play diminishes a great deal after Saturday then perks right back up on Tuesday, I should probably try to pace how quickly I earn marks and maybe I'd still have stuff to do towards the end of the week.

I'm down for this. Unless it's Dust Palace because that's an utter annoyance without the nightfall modifier.

It's going to be Dust Palace, isn't it?

Guys, we have to do Vault of Glass and after we finish it we have to do it again on Heroic the following week.

I want my Vex Mythoclast.

You think the exotics available now are OP. Hah...

Sign me up for the Nightfall.

I should be around at some point after 4pm today, I can text @Tiddy as well to see if he can join to do the raid.

That's just luck...
I have a legendary Warlock bond too, and all the engrams I bring to that 🤬 Cryptarch turn green or sometimes blue. I got 2 legendary and 3 blue engrams yesterday, for both armor items and weapons, and guess what? One turned in a blue Warlock bond, all the others went in green items (weapons or armor pieces).
I really hope they will path this, it's really frustrating. A legendary engram should AT LEAST give a legendary item, a blue engram a blue item, etc.

I maxed out 100 Vanguard Marks on Sunday. It was still maxed out yesterday and it is still maxed out today so I can't earn any more.

I've got 18 Marks now and I need 120 to buy the Monitor helmet from the Vanguard bloke. It's going to take three weeks at this rate. :banghead:

I am getting very sick of this bloody stupid limitation. Having to level up the Vanguard ranking is enough of a limit already. :banghead:

@Tired Tyres it resets at 9am GMT on Tuesdays, as we're in BST right now it'll be in about 5 minutes.

And yeah, I think the mark cap should be a bit higher, I think it would be quite fair to be able to buy one legendary weapon a week since they saw no problem with giving us multiple copies of the same legendary armour with the Queen's Wrath missions and if you're lucky you can find two or three legendaries and an exotic in a single week. For those lacking in luck it'd be nice if the cap was raised to 150 instead, you still have to work for it but you won't get into a situation like yours where you have, say, 49 marks so you have to spend a week at 149 before you can earn just one additional mark to buy a gun.

I reckon they'll introduce microtransactions though so we can buy motes of light, strange coins, Vanguard marks and Crucible marks, the latter two to exceed the weekly cap. It seems so perfectly set up for that and given that Activision have already done much worse - hacked the story into DLC-able pieces - it'll probably happen eventually.

Just done the Nightfall. Well, I get the rewards, I joined a friends game as it showed they were doing the Nightfall, just as I spawned, it said it was complete! I got a legendary Machine gun as a reward as well!

The patch is supposed to come out today to make the Cryptard more efficient with the blue and purple returns. Will be interesting to see the feedback from that. I am not sure when or if it is really coming out but I guess we will see by the end of the day. For the record, I still have a 0% return rate from the cryptard in terms of legendary engrams. So if this new system works, it will be a huge improvement for the game.

http://www.bungie.net/7_102-Patch-Preview/en/News/News?aid=12202

1.0.2 Patch Preview
The 1.0.2 patch will go live next week, and includes several changes to the Cryptarch and Engram experience. These changes guarantee that Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.
Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change.

Cryptarch Changes
Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly.
  • Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics
  • Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items
  • Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items
Activity Changes
  • Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards
Item Changes
  • Ascendant materials have been promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade
  • Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let’s be honest--even if you don’t, we all know they were blues already...
