The hardest part of this exotic bounty? Buy 50 special ammo synthesis'.. 17 down, 33 to go. That's 8,250 glimmer, but it's a good thing I have alot of ether seeds saved up. Time to hit the cosmodrome.

More caution = not falling off the platform? Because I think you'll find I was plenty cautious last time... And is there a chance for exotics now or after the patch?

True enough. The "more caution" part is specifically aimed at the three of us not dying otherwise we're in orbit and have to do it again - of course you both already know this. :p

As for the exotics it's a chance because the strike itself is so high stakes and has nothing to do with the patch as I've read plenty of posts on reddit of people getting exotics from this week's and last week's nightfall, but we will be playing into the hands of RNGesus. :grumpy:

@Terronium-12 well, I'm up for trying (especially since that's the next step for this exotic bounty - a weekly event, anyway), just the heroic one was stressful enough but the Nightfall... I don't know, it seems doable with a lot of cheese.

Thanks @neema_t , what's a clot of darkness that you picked up?

That's part of the exotic bounty to get the Invective, you get given a clot of darkness for doing a weekly strike so your timing was perfect as I was just trying to solo it on level 22 to get it! Then you take it to Ikora who asks you to trade 50 special ammo kits as @ImaRobot mentioned and then you get the Invective.

So, yeah, I have the Invective now, bringing my total exotics count to seven; Thorn, SUROS Regime, Invective, Pocket Infinity, Thunderlord, Knucklehead Radar and Mask of the Third Man. Now I'm trying to fill the gaps in my legendary special weapons, I need a good void fusion rifle, sniper rifle and shotgun, a solar sniper and arc fusion rifle. In fact if I didn't have a void Swarm I'd have no legendary void weapons at all, I guess it's a good thing it's basically an automatic sniper rifle (with awful range).

After trying Suros Regime in PvP, I quite like it. I thought i'd be slaughtered by the higher rate of fire auto rifles but I found myself picking them off easier than before. As far as range vs. a Scout Rifle, I still find myself switching to my MIDA Multi-Tool for picking off enemies at longer ranges (for exmple, picking off the Devil Walker in the Devil's Lair Strike).

Then there's the upcoming AR Balance patch which will solidify my needing a scout rifle anyways.

Have you done the first upgrade to the suros yet? I loved it in the crucible before I did the upgrade. It's still OK and is really powerful for am auto in there but the rate of fire is just terrible after the upgrade. If you haven't done it yet then don't.

I don't get Crucible, if any other game had the level of trade kills Crucible has it'd... Well, it'd get the same response as BF4 got, which wasn't good. Why this is acceptable is beyond me, it's absolutely awful. Just now, I got 20ish kills and a 2.1 ratio in one round and in the very next round I got 9 kills with 0.82, due mostly to the fact that I was getting melee'd from across the room, friendlies would steal my kills (i.e. I'd shoot a guy who had barely any health but not get the kill) and on one occasion I hit a guy with my arc blade and he used his ground slam super to kill me, despite being dead, and survived the encounter? On the round before that I had no trouble at all, so I don't know what was going on. Also, matchmaking takes forever, it's unbalanced as any Call of Duty ever was and I generally hate it but keep forgetting why and then end up trying it again, then I enjoy it until I get smooshed because of what must be lag issues, unless my standard of play can really drop that much from one round to the next. No rewards over three rounds, either, not even a token 'here's some crap rare armour for taking part'.

The random disconnects are annoying as hell.

I did, before I attempted PvP.

Too late  . I still enjoy the AR more than I probably should. I did switch back to Hard Light for a couple of Crucible matches but I found myself going back to Suros Regime.

How is this game so far? I just bought the Destiny PS4 Bundle because from what I've seen it looks like good fun.

@Hyped - Play it. Get sucked in. Want better gear 24/365.

On my end I'm addicted to the Crucible now - Control in particular. Great.

It's good if you will be playing multi-player. I was disappointed by the story delivery, and how every single-player mission was about the same.

The Vision of Confluence is an automatic scout rifle? Not exotic but it is a raid legendary. Suddenly I want to do some raiding. Also the only way to hit level 30 is to have a full set of raid armour (all fully upgraded) and an exotic if you want, I didn't know that. I suppose I should searching for more people to raid with. I suppose we actually only need two more, assuming @Terronium-12, @Clark and @dhandeh want in on raiding... Surely we must have two more high level PS4 players with a mic who'd be up for it?

I would be in and have a friend I play with everynight that would play. There's actually 3 of us that play all the time and were all high ranked with good gear and weapons.

We've been looking for people to raid with some it stayed and haven't been able to hook up with anyone.

If you are wanting to send me a friend request. We play every night from about 9pm- 1am est u.s. time. Last night we were on until About 3am last night. We are all 3 addicted. My psn is bevofrancis if anyone wants to get together for a raid. I would say all 3 of us will be on in the next hour or so.

9pm- 1am est u.s. time.

That's 2-6am for us UK people so I don't think that's going to work out! Not for me, anyway. That's a shame though.

I could be down for this, only level 24 tho so I might not be high enough?

Been on holiday the last 8 days so have missed all the farming action :( back on Tuesday and online all day Wednesday before back to work on Thursday.

My friend who you joined with me yesterday @Tiddy is level 26 and he really wants to have a go at the raid. We've both got mics and he just got legendary and exotic armour and a legendary auto rifle so he's all toiled up. I could still do with a legendary/exotic hand cannon but I'll managed with my fully upgraded rares.

We're both going to the BTCC at silverstone today but I'm sure we could try later at the week.

Once I've got myself some decent legendary armour and weapons I'll be up for raids. I'm finding it hard to get decent drops though and I've had some legendary engrams but they turned into rubbish because of my Lvl with the Cryptarch.

Most of my kit at the moment bar helmet and gloves are rare so and I'm Lvl 20 with about 7 light points.

@priesty_lfc, @Sprite: Have you reached Vanguard or Crucible rank 3 yet? If you haven't just keep working on your Vanguard (and Crucible, if you enjoy it) bounties and join me for some co-ordinated patrol grinding to help give you a boost, it won't take too long, then you'll be able to buy legendary armour (at rank 2) and weapons (rank 3) with your Vanguard marks. You're on your own when it comes to Crucible but if you do reach rank 2 you'll be able to buy more armour and reach a complete legendary set faster than if you were only using Vanguard marks, since it takes 315 marks to buy a full set and you can only get 100 of either type of marks per week. Then again you may have some saved up already. I'm not too bothered about getting to Crucible rank 3 because the weapons are a bit meh, the Invisible Hand M7 is pretty good but most of the others have the 'radar active while aiming' perk which isn't so useful in PvE.

Then you'll need to upgrade these items with ascendant materials to get the best out of them and reach a high level, so we can also do the daily heroic on the hardest difficulty which is, as far as I'm aware, the only way to guarantee ascendant materials (public events do also give you rewards but they're not necessarily ascendant materials). The weekly heroic is a bit tougher but if we could do it on the highest difficulty you'd be able to buy a piece of exotic armour in two weeks (assuming you have no coins at all) or a weapon in four.

So if you do all that, in time you'll be as well-prepared as any of us. I assume @Clark has already been doing this with @Tiddy since I joined them to finish a weekly strike yesterday. Then we just have to get started on the Vault of Glass... It sounds pretty hardcore though, just read this and you'll see what I mean.

Maybe we should complete a few nightfall strikes before we can claim to be ready for the raid...? Learning to walk before we run and all that.

@neema_t

Cool I'll have a proper look on Tuesday when I'm back.

I have legendary chest armour and primary/secondary/heavy so that's ok.

I need 2000 more to hit vanguard level 3.

I'm Hunter class btw.

So I've got yet another exotic bounty thing... Bad Juju, Thorn or Invective. I guess I'll have to take Bad Juju, then! @Terronium-12: Have you completed the Crucible part of your bounty yet? If not, does it seem like it'll take long?

I will be up for attempting the raid when everyone is ready. I feel my rare auto rifle.is underpowered at the moment so hopefully after the patch on Tuesday, I might be able to get my mitts on something better.

Vanguard Lvl 1 is close. Will keep at it.

Strike that. Lvl 1 done and Lvl 2 on its way.

All done. I forgot to post pictures as RNGesus smiled upon me yet again, but I'll get to that in a few.

Bad Juju really needs that buff coming its way; horrible impact stat and a 15 round magazine makes you think it's only an exotic because of the way it looks.

Beat the weekly nightfall strike last night. I got 10 ascendant energy, 400 vanguard and it gives you an XP boost until the reset at the end of the week. Everyone that was in the Fireteam has a purple for burning on us all the time too now. That's by far the best I've come away with from anything I've done in the game. The other guys I was playing with got kind of screwed though. Instead of ascendant materials they just got legendary weapons.

So after playing Control for hours, hours I hadn't realized had gone by, I finally hit 10,000 points and obtained the last piece in the puzzle known as "Bad Juju" which I took to the gunsmith and reaped my reward:

Horrible impact stat. 15 round clip/magazine. It just doesn't feel special at all, however, don't dismantle it just yet should you come across the bounty of Toland's Legacy - a buff is on the way, apparently.

...

Some time passes and I eventually come across a primary rare engram and when I have it decrypted it, well, see for yourself:

A better weapon than Bad Juju with a better perk. It's like a preemptive apology for something that's going to be fixed.

Notice the color scheme? That's a New Monarchy weapon - I have no ties with any of the factions but apparently Monarchy wants me to the point of sending items my way. :p

Ding! Nightfall complete. I can't imagine how boring it was for @dhandeh and @Terronium-12 since it was what felt like half an hour of me plinking away at enemies from the Platform of Great Cheese, as I'm sure it's known in Destiny lore, but whatever - they got their rewards. T12's was the same helmet he already has, mine was the legendary Vanguard pulse rifle Bad Seed Down and dh got some ascendant energy, which was probably the best reward of the three.

Like I said in the message I sent before I realized you had already logged off - you deserved that exotic (well not that one, obviously), not me. 👍

And it wasn't really boring at all. I just kept chanting at my TV then decided to throw my headset on and help out a little with what enemies were spawning where. And then the reprieve came.... a little too late.

Luckily we could change the camera angle and watch you Dairylea it from there. I got The Supremacy from an earlier Queen mission as well, so that the Ascendant Energy, a strange coin and now knowing where to but Legendary weapons makes this a good couple of hours work.
