A US Air Force Base. And that's it. haha There really is nothing out there but some real nice granite mini mountains sticking out of the flat prairie fields. Literally...you see prairies and BAM out of no where there's a mountain range. Kind of odd really, but quite pretty.

You from around there? By your location listed would that mean you live in Dodge City Kansas? :sly:

That's an awesome looking Skyline.

Really? I like the rims but not the rest, and especially I can't stand people removing R33 wings and just leaving the high sides like that.

Anyway nice pictures everyone.

Yeah, I had just read that they had an Air Force base and I am familiar with the mini mountains, even though I have not been to Atlus.

I am from Moore and still living in Moore, though for the part three years I have spent a significant portion of my life in Norman. If you do not know where Moore is at, it is south of Oklahoma City and north of Norman. If you have driven north on I-35 to OKC, then you have gone through Moore.

I apparently go through there alot. I do alot of trades in Oklahoma. I drove to Claremore twice in the last week as well.

I couldn't believe that I saw this on my end of town. I love the number plate!

What track were you at? Cause it certainly looks like a racing track of some kind. Some really nice, rare cars there as well.

EDT: Doesn't matter looks like knockhill on the side of that Punto in the GT3-RS pic. Can't wait unti lI go to Scotland this year might (if I have a chance) go to knockhill if anything is on. Nice pics.

Oddly, some Ferrari owners don't like their vehicles to be damaged.
We had a conversation like this not so long ago.

Rolling Stones fan?

Brilliant parking too.

If you'd spent the better half of £90,000 you'd be forgiven for worrying about peasants ruining your "white-bread" grey-blue paint...:D

If I spent the better half of £90,000 on a car, and was worried about getting it scratched, I wouldn't take it shopping. 💡

I strongly disagree with that attitude, which is akin to encouraging owners not to drive their cars. I'd rather the person drive his car and park it far away taking up two spaces than not drive, as you suggested.

I didn't suggest that the person not drive their car. I simply said not to take it shopping.

Everybody does it. When my Dad first bought his Avalanche, he would park so far away from the doors at Meijer, it was just silly. Hell, my Grandfather still does it with his 'vintage' Honda Prelude Si. There isn't any reason to do it, they just do.

They don't want to get it scratched - makes perfect sense to me.
No one wants their car scratched. I don't want my car scratched, so I'll park where the car park is less busy to lessen the probability of someone scratching it, but I'll never park over 2 spaces. That's just selfish.

In the Ferrari photo, it does not appear that there's a need for spaces.

Plus - the vehicle is so valuable, it's worth the two spots. A scratch would do double the damage to the 360 than it would to the F-150 a few spots down!

Yea, Davids last post pretty much sums up what i think of that too :)
Anyway, got my new camera yesterday and managed a couple of decent sightings today.

Midnight purple or an aftermarked colour?:

Triumph GT6 MK3:

First one of these ive seen up close, strangely enough i saw that model on the front of 'classic cars for sale' magazine today too!

True. I know I do the same thing with my Jetta, although I'm a bit more 'free' with her, as it is already dinged-up, so I'm likely not to be as upset as I should be.

Isn't that a Triumph?

I think in some circumstances it's fine if someone double parks their exotic, if it's not crowded and they aren't taking prime parking then it's understandable that they would want to protect their investment while still being able to enjoy it. However, just because they have a nice car doesn't mean they should automatically get an extra space and if its a crowded lot I would be very pissed (even to the point of doing something mean) to see a Ferrari or Porsche taking two spots. I agree with Doug that in the pic with the yellow Horse that it doesn't appear to be a very busy place.

oh crap yeah i suppose it is, my bad, didnt even take it in really, was busy picking up some kid from first scool, just snapped taht while in the queue to get out of the car park. edited.

I'm pretty sure that is an aftermarket color, as I though the Midnight Purple was just a solid purple, whereas the one in the picture has a paint job that changes color depending on the angle you look at it.

And talking about the parking thing, I usually just park a little farther out than what the crowd at wherever I am at park at. The extra walk to wherever I am going will not hurt me.

Yes, I think that could be true. As with most car owners, damage won't make anyone happy.

Is space at a premium? No, it doesn't appear to be so. So it's not quite as big a deal. I do see the point others are making, though. Do I agree with it? Not completely. If you feel that your car warrants it, then sure. Double park. Be conscious of spaces available (or lack of), and go find an empty stretch of spots. I'd rather see this occasionally because to me it means that the owners are taking their cars out. And that's a good thing.

As many car-loving people are, I try to be careful where I park my car. But rather than double parking, I just try to use smart parking. Whenever possible, I park on the end of a row either near or on the line, so that the person next to me has as much room as possible, and thus (hopefully) won't ding my car.

That and Midnight Purple is alot darker...almost looks black in some lighting.

Keep in mind that double parking in an expensive car to avoid damage may actually cause said damage, some people might get quite pissed and decide to take matters into their own hands and key the car or slash the tires. I was trying to find a space to park in at work one day and one of the asshole residents (happened to be a nice 140 S class) had not only double parked, but had done so in the spaces that are reserved for people that work in the building, fortunately for him I would never willingly harm a nice Mercedes like that in any permanent way, unfortunately for him he made me late for work and I happened to have a valve stem remover on hand... I wouldn't do something like that again (bad day made worse) but I know people who would key a car for much less.

On my way home from work, I caught a glimpse of Shelby Mustang going the other way. I'm guessing it was a '68. I couldn't see it clearly but I think it was a GT350. Medium metalic blue, looked great. The value of these cars has skyrocketed so insanely. So many have gone through 100 point restorations never to see a public road again. It was pure joy to see it on the street!

Agreed. Doing so basically advertises the driver as an arrogant twit. No matter what car you drive, the only right you should have to use two parking spaces is if you are prepared to buy and display two parking tickets.

Since we are all a bit off topic can a moderator split the double parking posts into a new topic so I can comment. I'd rather not drag this topic more offtopic. :sly:

Oh and I saw some weird "Foose" Mustang whatever the hell that is at the Altus OK Ford dealer. Here's the pics:
