...Depends on the time of day.
GT5 clearly. Sun rises in East. In GT5p, it would be about Mid-Morning (9-10am). The sun strike on the front straight also proves it is morning.
Forza is not right at all. The car on the front straight has the shadow to the left of the car, indicating the sun position in south west. It would be dark if that were the case!
Again, just proves the superior quality in GT games...
Threads like these make me think maybe i shouldn't be a part of this community. Honestly who gives a damn about the direction of the shadows, unless you have nothing else better to do.
GT is a game, it will never replace or be close to the real thing, nitpicking on such minor details is just sad, and comparing such pointless things to other games is even sadder. To me the most important thing about a racing sim is the physics. With close to real life physics racing sims can be used as a usefull tool to aid in becoming a better driver in real life. Everything else is merely for eye candy and making the ''Game'' more attractive.
The only thing that i would say really annoys me in GT is the menu. I hate how you have to exit a bazillion menus before you can change certain parameters in the options, like FFB strength, power steering, car choice yada yada yada. The menus are so slow and there are so many screens, that they are the cause for me stoping playing after a short while. I would like to see a tab system in place like you get on PC games where you can change various parameters whilst still in game. Sometimes just setting up a game in GT feels like a chor.
I'll only go about noting the irony in your statement, which is pretty much everything said after "more attractive".
There is a difference between what i would ''like'' improved or ''replaced'', and what genuinly get's on my nerves you know.
No, you mad man.(I have to stop saying that)
You said nitpicking on minor details is sad, and here you go nitpicking the menu. Haha.![]()
Not agree, I think the delay response since you hold X and the game do something is really fast. The menus are so slow
Um doesn't time of day, season, weather, air quality etc effect this kind of thing to the point that almost anything could be accurate under some circumstance?
Still Mr Forza man, GT looks 5x better in those direct comparison shots, less shiny track, richer colors, better lighting.
Nevermind aye
Ok... sure thing... have you noticed the threads where I point out or agree with wonky points in Forza?
I swear there is some kind of paranoia around here where if you aren't a card carying GT fan you must be some kind of Froza terrorist
I am not going to dig it up, but there is a post here not that long ago from me talking about the style GT uses and Forza uses and how I the GT style is the one I like better... but no... you couldn't see that... not through your GT defense goggles...
BTW, Mr GT5, 5x better really? And note you did not say "in my opinion" (which according to someone else on here apparently means you can say anything you like with inpunity) there...
Forza 2 did indeed have tracks in which the sun was, dare I say it, glaringly off from the shadows. I think the worst offender was the Nurb, with a sun just over the horizon, and shadows rendered from a 10-11 o'clock position. And yes, it did hurt the whole realism deal.
By the way, I don't think any game is as slow as any of the Forzas. Load a track, start a race, restart a race, change the freaking car in a replay! Everything is more of a hassle in Forza.
