All of the cars in DiRT2 had a cockpit view, so it's extemely likely that all of the cars in DiRT 3 will have that option as well.

Thanks weigert that is great news :dopey:

I'm sorry but Codemasters wonna be just like PD so dashboard view only on Premium Models :sly:
Just kidding, but.. we never know. I think/hope the Premium/Standard will be only a PD deviation.

lol you read my mind HKS! Was trying to be sly about the way I phrased my question.

Ya, I'm pretty sure some of the videos do have that view.

There's a whole heap of new gameplay videos over at Game Trailers, showing Transporter, Invasion and Outbreak gameplay, plus two-player split-screen and a new snow stage in single-player mode. It also shows the expanded Battersea gymkhana stage; as you progress in gymkhana mode, you unlock new arenas. The full Battersea looks great.

Invasion was probably the mode I was the most iffy about, because it sounded silly - knocking over cardboard robots and avoiding skyscrapers to score points. But based on the gameplay video, it actually looks like it will be a lot of fun. You're going to have to be really good in order to score as many points as possible and as quickly as you can.

Outbreak and Transporter, on the other hand, look like they're going to be on the wrong side of controlled chaos. Particularly Transporter, because all eight cars are going to be in the same place at the same time, though if you're divided into teams rather than playing every man for himself, it will probably be considerably better. Outbreak doesn't do much for me. It's not so much a game of tag as it is Octopus, that game where one person is "it", and as they tag another player, they start working together to get everyone else until there is one left standing. I never really liked that game as a kid (probably because I was slow and thus an easy target).

Okay, read that there will be 50 cars across 15 classes. And that there will be 9 pure-rally classes and 6 "non-rally" classes. the 9 classes I would guess would be a lot of the ones from previous games, but, it's those "non-rally" classes that intrigue me. The Dirt series always known for giving us some interesting cars to toss around like the BMW Z4 and 350Z in Dirt 2 and the Lotus Exige in Dirt 1. So, it'll be interesting to see what they fork out for those six non-rally classes. Makes me wonder if the semis are back. Those were a blast in Dirt 1.

Haha Brilliant!, I really wasn't expecting anything like this. DiRT 3 is going to be fantastic online, especially considering the amount of fun that could be had on DiRT 2 using the 'normal' racing modes.

It's a must for me to have Dirt 3, im a big fan of Colin Mcrae Series and i love Codemasters and how they work, Dirt 3 will be an awesome game, and i love the fact that 60% of the game is RALLY :sly: Its going to be a lot of fun online and offline like Dirt 2 was and still is.

DiRT 3 is looking really promising. A good selection of rally cars and a few 'oddball' cars for a bit of fun, and some good stages. They seem to be pushing what can be done with a rally game with these new modes, and Outbreak looks awesome. I have to admit I'm not so keen on Transporter, it just looks like a ramfest with little skill involved... :indiff:

Played this at Gadget Show Live, felt pretty good. I drove McRae's '95 Impreza on a rally stage (not sure where) but the handling seemed to be good. One thing I did notice was it didn't seem I could go as fast as before, I have the feeling this was due to a brake assist or something similar. But the demo seemed to be locked so I couldn't access the option menu to change anything, this was also on Xbox 360 rather than PS3. Saw other people playing with Ken Blocks WRC car as well as playing around in Gymkhana mode, looked fun. I'll look forward to getting my hands on this.

It's not quite a full list, but apparently the final list of cars has been confirmed. i don't know where to find it, though.

Yeah, it was confirmed a while ago in some of the previews that got posted here. Battersea has three "stages", with the arena growing larger and larger. According to this preview, we've only seen half of it because the final iteration includes the carpark, the compound and the inside of the power station. There's also apparently a stage on the bottom of the Monaco Grand Prix circuit - you can see it in the two-player split screen video, linking Ste. Devote to Tabac - that sets you a series of tasks to do around the lap. And there's (at least) a third gymkhana arena that goes un-mentioned in the previews except to say it's there.

Just played the Dirt2 Demo again. I'm going to have to say that while DiRT3 may be fun, it's most likely going to frustrate me as well.

I counted 14 classes on that list, as well. Which would mean we're missing one. And there are a couple classes that don't have anything. But, I don't see any weird WRCs, though. But I suspect they might be in the Raids and tucked in with the other classes.

Why did Dirt 2 frustrate you? besides 80% of the players not being into rally.

I'm not good at turning at high speeds... it's very sensitive as turning a tad bit too hard gets the car locked in one slide, and I spin out, or i get a snap back and spin out. Simply put i'm too accustomed to GT's rally where I can throw the car at a huge angle and just steer out of it... That or maybe the eclipse GT in the demo wasn't AWD.

lol. I understand. But if you can drive in GT, you can drive in Dirt. Its far easier :P I think they are making the driving more real in this one than 2.

It is AWD and you can enter turns backwards 'Ken Block' style (as the cool kids would say) with it without to much hassle once you get used to it. Just takes practice, Dirt 2 is one of those arcade games which actually has some difficulty curve to the physics and that is one reason why I am gutted that I don't have the cash to fork out for Dirt 3.

I pre-ordered this awhile ago.

My G27 will prob come around the time this game comes out. I haven't done a rally game (not including GT5 rally ) in a long time. I hope I like this

This looks like an enjoyable game, though I will hold off on preordering, spent too much money on games this year with preorders that I might have been better to wait on. I did really like Dirt 2 though.

Really? When you pre-order here - Australia - you sometimes get a discount ... I think. It's $78 if you pre-order at EB Games, and $98 at GAME.

Dragonistic

It is because you are homeless... Noob :D
I heard you sleep in HMV, so you could steal it from there. Do it... Do it nooow!

Anyway... I preordered this a couple of weeks back and it comes out on the day of my last exam... :D

I looked into getting a G27.

Waaaay too expensive for me.

If you don't already own a force feedback wheel than I'd suggest a DFGT, as it is a really good quality wheel (albeit without a H-pattern shifter and clutch) at only a fraction of the price of the G27.

i am very interested in the game but i think I will wait till after it comes out i have preordered so many game already this year andi have to finish paying for Brink the week before maybe I will get it about a month or so after release let all the bugs and patches work it self out first and see what the rest of GTP has to say about the game.
