Although it does contain some spoilers about the early stages of the game (ie available cars, event structure, etc.).

It does, however, talk about a new gameplay mode: Head to Head, which is like a super-special stage. Two cars race one another on a point-to-point stage, but the central divider means they'll never actually meet. Like this:

Is Head to Head across various surfaces, etc? (Can't open that page atm)
It doesn't say. I imagine it would be - it's a new gameplay mode in the way Landrush and Trailblazer are gameplay modes - but I can't confirm it.

So Head to Head mode is basically the same as the Super-Special stages that were used in previous Colin McRae titles? If so, then I reckon it should make for some good online racing.

Pretty much, but from the way the article describes it, they're point-to-point stages and not closed loops. Kind of like the last X-Games stage. It's described as a blend of hardcore rallying and crowd-pleasing extreme sports.

The DIRT 2 "service park" menus are gone; everything is a lot more streamlined. Experience points appear to have been replaced by "reputation"; you unlock more content depending on your abilities as a driver, so rather than simply getting experience for winning an event, you earn reputation for how you performed overall (ie by setting a certain time or finishing a stage without damage, etc.), which seems a lot more complex and involved than before.

Looks good, bit wide in places, but that doesn't bother me.

Hmm, anyone know of some reviews of this with the G27? I know Amar used the G25.

DIRTapalooza!

Six minutes of (almost) entirely new footage; the last minute or so is the Group B Lives On trailer. It's also in Italian (and rapid Italian at that), but there's a load of new stuff in it: the Monaco GP gymkhana course, rallycross, drift mode and landrush and some more stuff on Head to Head (which now looks like it's similar to the pursuit cycling - two cars start at different points on the circuit and race to complete a lap; there's a few points in the video where cars in opposite lanes appear to be running head-on). Confirms Aspen as a location in addition to Finland, Kenya and Michigan. It also shows the new streamlined menu system.

A developer run on a gymkhana challenge where drivers have to complete a figure-eight course.

Block and Foust multiplayer gymkhana at Battersea Station.

Team VVV preview of DIRT 3 videos to come, showing some rallycross and super special stages. Also confirms that environments are very varied.

The first Team VVV preview video. It shows the menus (Codies really did get those tetrahedrons right!) and the first stage of the Dirt Tour, which looks like a really appropriate chocie for the first stage.

Wow, the menus look amazing!! might be my favorite ones. I can't wait to see/play some tight stages. All of the videos thus far have been very open and bottomed out stages without too technical play. Thank you for all the recent vids. I really hope PSN is up by this release, the multiplayer seems like it will be far superior to Dirt 2.

!!!🤬🤬:banghead::banghead::banghead: THIS GAME LOOKS SOOO GOOOOOOD!!! lol I seriously cant wait!! Check out signature :)

If you will or some other member will host a weekly or monthly time trial, shoot me a visitor message or drop a notice in here.

Team VVV previews part 2 & 3

Getting more and more hyped with each new video. I'm just as excited for this as I was for Hot Pursuit 3.

I've always really liked the Finnish rally since it was first added to the Colin McRae series in 2.0, so I can't wait to try it out in DiRT 3. That Finnish rally stage looks brilliant in that video by the way.

More videos, this time from Codemasters themselves with some examples of the 30 second YouTube clips exported from the game.

A few stages on the D-Box simulator at Codemasters HQ, first up is the WRC Mini Countryman at Michigan

Abarth Punto S2000 at Norway

The immensely complex Smelter Super-Special Stage:

He does two runs over it and I still can't make heads or tails of it. It reminds me of some of the super-specials in the Colin McRae games, namely the Greek super-special in McRae 2.0, which had half a dozen cross-overs.

That stage doesn't look as hard as the Greek super-special in 2.0, I remember struggling alot with it back when I still had 2.0. If only I had that game now, I have the urge to play it before DiRT 3 is released.

There's also a fifth preview featuring a Rallycross ice stage:
