And near the commercial's end, the muscle car (as usual) blasts past the beautiful GTP race car, ripping the bodywork off of the car down to its frame work.
That commercial doesn't even make sense. They zoom in on the supercharger sticking out of the hood and all of the sudden the belt starts turning and the supercharger kicks in as the muscle car takes off. Does it have some sort of electical clutch running the blower like on an A/C compressor?
I can't believe they're investing so much into a car washing product, do they think that the market for new car washing systems is that big?

I'm thinking expensive... I'm also thinking that Ford owns Aston Martin and Jaguar

...its a shame then that they don't use some of Astons and Jaguars chassis tuning ability to improve the Mustangs medieval set-up.

Ford seems to sporatically support their factory racing efforts. They pop up and dominate for a few years (GT40, Trans-Ams Mustang, WRC Focus) then leave until the next time their marketing strategy changes and they decide to go racing again.

Remember that several different classes are sharing the race track, you'll see lower modification class cars getting lapped by higher class racers.

Mustangs are great cars, but they aren't the be-all end-all of cars

and a Mustang doesn't stack up next to a ferarri no matter how you look at it (unless you dump like $200 grand in the mustang)

a better comparison would be a Mustang Cobra R and an R34 GT-R VspecII or BMW M5

But Ford has the Mustang. And now I understand why its on the line up. Yes, its weak stock ( Standard Mustang ). But its wickly powerful when tuned right. Its America's #1 natural muscle car. its got the V8 and that nice sound its good. I'm kinda tooken interest into Ford and I'll be glad to hear what anyone has to add.

Oh my God... I'm speechless

Dude if I ever get around your neck of the woods you're more than welcome to take a ride in my 5.0, hell I'll let you drive it. You'll be a total convert then.

Almost all mustang owners agree it was time for a change, but if you consider how well it held up against all this modern technology with it's 30 year old setup, I'd say that's pretty impressive. That chassis is no longer in production, and the replacement begins job 1 in less than 60 days. Woo!! :)

Now, if they could only figure out how to put it on a diet we'd be set.

Unless you're talking straight line performance, and then the Mustang can put one in it's mirror.

The Mustangs were in the same class as the Cosworths

To be honest, neither of those companys have made leaps and bounds in their chassis either. Remember the DB7 used old Jaguar stuff that dated back to the 80's if not 70's. It's only recently Aston Martin have started using new chassis.

Yea, you are right.

I still think the DB7 is on the XJR chassis.

Just as a notice to all intrested...

The "more mustangs" thread and the "American Muscle Car Discussion" have been merged into 1 thread.

This means that if you want to discuss anything related to American Cars in GT4, come to this thread!

Enjoy your discussion fellas. 👍

Yes the DB7 did use the XJS chassis - and engine (modified) - but it is still more advanced than a Mustangs!

More Mustangs? i just hope they have more AMERICAN cars this time around. in GT3 most of the cars were japanese, which i hated (appart from the supra) as long as they have more cars from the us ill be happy.

GT4 should not include any ford´s just because they are no good! :dunce:

those holden pickup thingys would be nice tho - all the others are opel´s anyway and they are in the game

if it wasnt for ford, some cars companies might have not exsisted becasue of what henry ford did! are there are plunty of good ford cars, like the GT40 (not the GT)

The first GT40's resembling the Mk2 made their appearance at the 1965 LeMans. The cars featured Ford's 427 cubic inch V8. Although the cars had to retire from the race, one of the Mk2's qualified at pole with a new track record. Throughout the rest of 1965, Ford focused on developing the Mk2 for the 1966 LeMans.

In 1966, Holman & Moody joined Shelby American as a racing team. With the additional cars, the Mk2 took 1-2-3-5 at the very first 24 Hours of Daytona. The winning Mk2 was from the Shelby American team and was driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon. The Mk2 continued the winning streak in March with a win at Sebring by a Mk2 roadster driven by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby. The Holman & Moody team also did well with a second place finish by a Mk2 driven by Walt Hangsen and Mark Donohue.

At the 1966 LeMans, the Mk2 made history with a 1-2-3 finish. The winning Mk2 was driven by Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon, which set a new average race speed record of 125.4 mph. The second place Mk2 was also a Shelby American car driven by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby. Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson drove the Holman & Moody to third place.

1967 started off on a bad note at the 24 Hours of Daytona. All six Mk2's entered left the race with transmission failure. This race saw the end of the Mk2, which was replaced by the more aerodynamic Mk4.

I'd also like to see the newer muscle cars like the Firebird WS6 (a Vegas favorite), Mustang Mach 1, Mustang SVT Cobra, the new Dodge Magnum and the Pontiac GTO (aka. Holden Monaro).

But with the influence of PD on auto manufacturers, it will highly likely that these cars will be in GT4 (maybe it still under digital construction).

Darin you yourself were against muscle cars in the Mustang thread itself, now you start another one, for the same fact; just on MSN a few days ago you told me the Mustang was america's worst car, it sucked, and you didn't care about it. Oh and you also said it sounded like ****.

But now;

"Its America's #1 natural muscle car. its got the V8 and that nice sound its good. I'm kinda tooken interest into Ford and I'll be glad to hear what anyone has to add. Okay, lets talk about All the American Muscle cars and the Muscle that will be in GT4."

The Ford hater turns interested into Fords, within 2 days. :dopey:

Proof

Wasn't that an oh so good quote?

From a thread about Mustangs.

Wanna see the mother of all of them?

[/rant]

Sorry for the large post, have to make my point clear.

sUn, you don't have to point them out. Its been said and done. And also for that, your the first and only person on my block list.

Who me?

All I did was post information from another thread, what's wrong with that?

Plus, if he blocks me what's there to care about?

Oh, Gokents will get the report and I'll make sure he sees it a deals with it in the proper manner.

Right now. I want him banned.

Weather it was your intention or not it came across as though you were having a go at him.

sUn, People have rubbed it in enough. You didn't realize that have you? I'm trying to start off once again and you just come back ****ing everything up. Come **** up some more. You seem to like it.

I had to view that post to reply. I'm serious man. Keep ****ing up when i'm trying to share interest with ya'll.

Hey, if that means alot to you I'm sorry.

Edit: I still don't see how I attacked you. I used your quotes, I did not make anything up. I was just making my point.

you two, dont go turning this into a flame war..... take it somwhere els, this thread is for talking about muscle cars, not when you got your permit and how pissed off you are at eachother.

Ok, back on topic. Sorry for the off-topic talk.

I really want to see a Mustang GT in GT4 not only a Cobra R. :P

Does anyone think a Cobra version the new Mustang will be able to challenge a TVR T350C? I doubt it would but I have to admit I like the new Mustang 10 times more than the current one. But my fave is still the classic 1967 GT500 (I can thank gone in 60 for that).

Weather it was your intention or not it came across as though you were having a go at him.

He even linked me to it and wanted me to reply. But you know what I noticed. I can't share infomation that interests you. Now that I'm not gonna do ****, i'm also thinking about leaving this place for good. I'm sick of tired of people attacking me. Its ****ing my life up man.

The 2005 is when the all new one is out isn't it? If so thats the one I'm on about.
