as we all know "turn1lap1" is the where most carnage are. you could either lose sr or gain sr. thats why im making this Thread for discussing the different ways to survive Turn1 Lap1.

Sometimes you've got to lick the stamp and send it.

All about having trust. Which I know is difficult in GTS, but you have to trust the guy in front of you, and the guy behind you. Plus, use the radar and mirrors. Know your surroundings. Is someone making a move on you? Can you make a move on the guy in front? Are you able to hold your line?

One thing could be to use chase cam so you can see the people around you better, and with braking, its always better to brake a little early for turn 1 and then modulate the brake, so if someone ahead of you does something stupid you have already slowed down a bit more so you can avoid the incident. What I suggest as a final thing to do is to (in qualy) practice coming into T1 with the speed you would on your first lap, and getting your braking point down so you can be confident on when you need to get on the stoppers so you don't go deep, and then brake just slightly earlier than that so you have more time.

In most cases, you should avoid risky and reckless moves and try to be aware of your surrounding cars. Turn 1 lunges rarely pay off and you are more likely to lose places/earn a penalty than benefit from them. And in the case you lose a position, you will be able to make it up later in the race. Also it always helps to be a bit more cautious of the people who do go for turn 1 lunges.

Unless you are racing at Monza, then you are basically screwed if you start from anything than last, just hope that you get lucky.

Many times, if you are behind into T1 and show the car ahead you're not a divebomber, they'll pretty much show respect when you do make an attempt for position.

If possible, it's good to follow on the racing line into T1, to keep pulses low.
Fuji is difficult. It's not like Suzuka, where the ideal line is to stay inside.

As mentioned, practice taking the approach under true T1 conditions to find out where your safe and late braking points actually are. You will be coming into the braking zone at a slower speed due to the rolling or standing start - the better the starting position, the slower your speed relative to everyone else. As such, if you brake at your normal point you will be too early/slow and open the door for chaos at T1.

If you are further back in the grid then you may want to consider a bit of a lift before the braking zone to open up a small gap between you and the car in front. This will allow you to take the corner at a decent pace/get a good exit to gain a spot on the following straight.
