Discussion of undocumented features in patch 1.10

It's lighTING. Not lighTNING. Just helping you out.

And the standards did get upgraded. If the smoke effects got fixed, it only seems right that they did do something to the standards. They look cleaner/smoother for the most part. Definitely not all of them are better, some I suppose.

Thanks for the help. Similar words, hard to be used with some small differences.

Back on topic: yeah, some standards got upgraded. The improvement on most standard cars wheels is noticeable between some improved textures in some cases.

I did some laps on Suzuka like everyone has been saying to do, and yes, there's something about it that just pops better in my eyes.

I do not know if this was posted earlier in this thread, but the shifting of the Ferrari 430 2006 has been fixed.

The driver shifts with the paddles instead of some imaginary gear shifter, fixed on both game and replay accounts. 👍

Have not tried the others though.

Hi, i've been using Racing Soft tires just for grinding and after the 1.10 update i noticed that it's a little bit harder to go through the corners with the same tires. It didn't affect my lap times too much but i did notice that the turning line has changed a little bit and that now the car understeers a little bit more with Racing Softs.

Did anyone else notice these changes?

Overall collision repercussions have been altered towards more realistic.

Bumping into other car/objects will slow you down much significantly than before and I can confirm that all off-track areas are now much more negatively affecting grip together with on-track-return physics.

Great job on both areas.

Just thinking about all the off track grip reduction, does anyone know if there is reduced grip off line?

I noticed something last night that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere on the board, surprisingly. I was doing a short online race with some mates and when the leader crossed the finish line for the victory everyone's screen displayed his name and driver avatar in the lower right-hand corner! So now the whole helmets/racing suits addition makes a little more sense because when you win an online race your driver is displayed to everyone else as the winner!

Not a huge addition or ground breaking feature, but when I saw that pop up on my screen I literally said "WHOA!! COOL!!". The driver's image is displayed during the entire post-finish countdown, so as everyone is finishing their race they get to look at the driver who beat them. :)

Don't know if mentioned before but when buying parts from the garage you don't need to buy low and med rpm turbo. You can buy only the high. Less money spent. 👍

The Low and Mid rpm turbo kit give usually noticeably different power and torque curves, though. Sometimes, although the High rpm kid has a slightly higher maximum power, it can happen that the Mid rpm kit has better average power (a flatter power curve). Other times, I find that the Low rpm kit has the best drivability. In the end, unless you're aiming for maximum hp, you have to try them all.

It was always like that. Same with exhaust and air filter. Just weight reduction and engine tuning needs to be bought stage by stage.

A-Spec schwarzwald league A & B races are more challenging now. Give them a whirl! (I had a heck of a time keeping up in the Subaru Super Touring WRX, and rightfully so!)

True, I've been finding the mid rpm kit a blast on some cars. Moar torque! 👍

I think you've got the name of the event wrong or car name wrong.
schwarzwald league A & B races is german only.

Great job on both areas.

Example: Under heavy breaking bump an opponent going into the first corner of Laguna Seca. Both cars get really loose. The AI's reaction and subsequent brake lock up is much improved.

Maybe I missed it as I haven't been playing GT5 much lately, but I can now use the gated shifter on my G27 without having to use the clutch. It appears they haven't fixed the delay when using the clutch, but now you can completely circumvent it. Was this always possible and I just never noticed, or was it recently added?

Not sure if this had been mentioned but when you leave an online race (for any reason including disconnecting) it takes you straight back to the 'Open Lobby' page rather than the home page.

Was possible before, well it was with the G25.

Mid range turbo gives the 908 over 1100lbs of torque. High range is like 900 something.

the driver uses shift paddles to change gear in the ferrari f430 instead of manual (like he used to be before the update), and standard cars looks better now.

Sorry you're right, I realized I selected the A=Spec event, something about GT classics, where the track is the Nur, but open to various cars.. I just wanted to test out this nice Subaru I found someplace.

I'm doing an online B-spec race around Laguna Seca. There's an AC Cobra in the lead with the top up and a Shelby Cobra in 2nd with the top down. I thought the Ferrari California was the only convertible in the game with the top down. Is this new or something I've missed?

Shelby is a premium. It only has top down.

They removed the "To GT Life" button when you exit a spec or b spec races, and then in gt auto when you just press circle instead of gonig to the "To GT Life" button, it just exits to GT life... why even have the button? D: and why was the other button removed....... I thought that was kind of convenient instead of "circle circle circle".. it was just "scroll to left, X" meh... kind of random decision
