Do you suspect the 600+ cars will have interior?

I want to see this in GT5:

Edit by mod - Removing off topic picture

I want to see this in GT5:
Off topic much?

What does that have to do with 600 cars having an interior? Try to keep on topic please. Us mods have enough to do just now without folk making more work for us.

Sorry I was sidetracked. :dunce:

I'd like to see fully functional gauges, especially my motor getting warmed up as i take laps hard

Nope, you misunderstood. interior ≠ cockpit. The cockpit view include the steering wheel, dash, windshield, ... This we will get for almost all cars except a special few concept cars (Nissan GT-R black mask for ex.) On the other hand, interior view means under the hood, inside the trunk, and suspension parts when the body panels have been damaged and flew off. You can imagine why they can only do 200 for now, model everything under the hood and behind panels take a lot of times.

Kaz speaks japanese so due to the bad translations there could be interior ≠ cockpit
Still do you have a link to prove that?

See the thing that gets me is that...if 200 or so cars are going to have cockpit view (supposedly), why on earth do cars like the Suzuki Cappuccino in prologue have it?

I still have faith that most of the cars will have a cockpit view.....but if they don't, oh well I guess. I guess we'll no more pretty soon.

You think PD will tease up with interior view with some cars then force us to use bumpercam or something with the rest?

I doubt KY being the type of person he is would go for that for all, do it right or don't do it at all.
Exactly my opinion. Why would he ever do such a thing? If it's true only 200 cars will have interior, it's a BIG let down, I mean HUGE. No one who use the cockpit view will ever bother to drive the 800 cars without interior. At least I won't...

I know I may sound like a cry baby, but if it really is true, you can consider my 12 year period as a GT fan to be over.

EDIT: Hopefully KY have a bad sense of humor, and this is just a joke, because I can't see how journalists could make that bad a translation over and over again.

Fully agree.

The only reason I bought prologue was for the amazing interiors of the car. The GT-R concept in GT5P did not have a interior view and I only drove it once because of this. GT5 without full interior for all cars will be a bit of a let down.

Ok I'll quote my post!

Ok.Check this out - I think I understand!Interior view ("interior") - what inside car (not cockpit), I mean engine, suspension etc.Remember damaged Subaru from TGS '09?We can see engine INSIDE the car. That's it!It's translated like "interior view" and it's nothing to do with COCKPIT VIEW.Thanks!))) and sorry if someone already posted this...
(sorry for eng!can't really explain, but I hope you get the idea!)

For all the people complaining about the interior (cockpit, what ever you want to call it) view I ask, IRL do you actually pay attention to your hands on the wheel and constantly pay attention to everything inside the car?
That's basically what you see in the game, a bit of wheel, 2 hands, dials and a dash and limited view of your surroundings. Yes they make for some serious eye candy but are you buying the game to sit on the side of the track and admire the interior or to actually race?
Should be happy with 200+ or what ever the number is of cars with interior, you could have nothing.

I use the cockpit view partly because it looks good, but foremost because it's the correct and most accurate position. The slogan for GT has always been "The Real Driving Simulator" and with the cockpit view they're one step closer to that. Excluding it from 80% of the cars is a big let down.

That's very constructive to start a debate on the merits of a certain feature which are ofcourse highly subjective when the full implementation of this feature on all cars ( which a lot really were expecting and looking out for, including me ) is in doubt at this moment.

Don't tell me what I should be happy with regardless of what it is, I will decide for myself what I will be contend with thank you very much.

Besides, it's not an unreasonable thing to expect or hope for and saying it's just eye candy is just your personal opinion, my opinion is that it enhances the gameplay and immersion factor to an extend not replicated or replaced by any other feature.

I buy the game to race.

From an interior view.

Couldn't have said it better myself! 👍

Interior (COCKPIT) view is one of the most basic features that everyone would expect to be implemented, even if its a half assed attempt like forza 3. But it needs to be there. If GT5 is missing the interior view on the majority of the cars I will find it to be a complete and total failure of a game.

I drive only in Cockpit view
Will be hugely disappointed if I can't drive all the old 90's import cars in cockpit view.
What the hell were they doing all that time if it wasn't modeling all 800 cars

I need to say that cockpit view is REALLY a huge part of experience!

I will be greatly disappointed if most of the cars don't have interior views. i only race in-car cockpit view, and don't plan on changing that.

I'll stay positive because i just can't imagine them not offering interior views with a game of this magnitude:)

Thats the cockpit view not the interior view

What's the difference?

Strictly there isn't much of a difference between cockpit or interior, although the word interior has aquired a different meaning over here due to its alleged mistranslation and therefore possibly meaning the inner structure of the car as well.

Unless they can properly translate what is being said and interior is proven to be the word used to describe the full structure of the car as opposed to just dashboard, seats, etc. I'm afraid the correct word to use over here to avoid confusion is cockpit view.

Not only does this whole Standard/Premium thing trouble people ( including me ), it even changes the language being used apparantly.;)

Certainly does.

I don't see what's so hard to understand. As far as I know a cockpit is where one (and often a co-pilot) flies an airplane (and may also refer to a race car's interior sometimes), but I have never heard anyone say cockpit when talking about a standard car interior.

I've read and heard it being used to describe a car interior, but that's the thing with language, its meaning is constantly changed by applying it to a different context.
Cockpit has its origins in aviation although I'm not aware as to why it's called that ( and I think it is applied to cars to make it sound more impressive ).
Dashboard is a term left over from the horse-drawn carriages ( basically a board protecting rider and passengers from being pebbledashed by the horses ).

Interior is a meaning not limited by a certain context, although given it's used in the context of cars I find it logical to assume it means the place where driver and passengers sit, although stretching this meaning to the inner structure of the car is also technically correct I presume.
Hopefully this introduction of a new meaning of the word interior in the context of the car is due to a simple mistranslation.

Frankly I don't care much for all this strange use of language, just hope we will get interior/cockpit/dashboard view on all cars.:)

Soooo I will drive only those 200.

Yes, we know, although some don't want to realize it...

Wahoo sane person! Thank God!

These mis translation and other conspiracy theories in my honest opinion are nuts. If there was any ambiguity why wouldn't the Eurogamer journalist ask?!

We won't know until IGN has a sit down with the game. Eurogamer didn't really get anything across and didn't try to clarify the 800 plus cars without an interior view.

I still think that all cars have interior views and just the premium one's support damage modeling of the interiors as well. It would seem a travesty for PD to not have interiror for the entire stable of cars in the game and even FM3 has it however tacky it's included. I call just bad interpretation of Kaz's words, until we see it for ourselves, then I'll remain with what Kaz stated last year. All cars will have fully modeled interiors, the premium cars will have interior damage modeling along with the exterior damage modeling that all the cars posses.

Same reason he didn't catch the whole Porsche thing either and went on to write it, eventhough they themselves reported that GT5 didn't have any Porsche's in it. Any other enlightening questions my friend?

I want to be with you but as I remember he didn't actually say that, it was a quote concocted in the supposed mis translation of what we thought he might say. Still fingers crossed!!!
