Do you suspect the 600+ cars will have interior?

If someone could compile a list of all the cars we know have cockpit views we would surely come up with over 200 vehicles.

For example add up all GT5P cars that have cockpit view 70+ and all the demos from past and the current conventions that we have seen cockpits for, plus add in racecars, convertibles, that number should easily be over 200.

Having said that I believe that interior view means that you will be able to replace body panels for cars that are premium. You will also see the engine bay, doors and trunks swinging open, the underbody etc. That will be what is considered interior view or a premium car.

Wahoo sane person! Thank God!

These mis translation and other conspiracy theories in my honest opinion are nuts. If there was any ambiguity why wouldn't the Eurogamer journalist ask?!

Well, going by that assumption (the journalist had a clue about what he was talking about), this article also confirms that Porsche will be in the game. I find it very hard to believe that Kaz would release GT5 with only 200 interiors. I say we stop worrying about one thing that some journalist says, especially since that journalist already made at least one mistake in the exact same article.

I think all cars from GT5p and convention showings would most be at 130

I want to be with you but as I remember he didn't actually say that, it was a quote concocted in the supposed mis translation of what we thought he might say. Still fingers crossed!!!

I would go on a search for that quote, but I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment. But all the cars have interiors modeled, heck when they released GT HD the cars had interiors did they not? So how is anyone going to expect me to believe that the cars that are standard don't have even the level of detail of GT HD?
I call shenanigans on the reporters for Eurogamer for not digging for a more transparent clarification of what Kaz said.

Fair point (my take was that the Porsche bit was just him story embellishing rather than quoting) but you could be right. More media has access over the next few days, lets sit tight and see what happens.

True. I tried to count the confirmed cars and I landed somewhere around 140, so according to the article, around 60 premium cars has yet to be revealed.

I have a feeling that only 200 are going to have interior....sorry I mean "Cockpit" views. This is a bit disappointing, but hopefully it's just not a clear translation.

I don't think anyone on here should have a right to say all cars have cockpit view when we are still not 100% sure.

Posted this in the Eurogamer E3 thread:

Regardless of what this "interior" actually means, personally I believe that all cars will have cockpit views. The difference I think is the kind of view you would get in the replay. The full interior view of premium cars would come with mutiple-angle views. Just like these few videos from mimaximax:

It makes sense that it would have taken a lot more time and effort to recreate all the details in the car as well as the animation. Cockpit views on the other hand is not as demanding. There were already more or less 60 cars in GT5P that have cockpit views. It's inconceivable that only 140 or so car are added on top of that.

I'm sure that some would disagree and would prefer the interior=cockpit argument but hopefully someone will get the right info from PD in the next few days.

Wait a minute!!!
From GTPlanet news page:
"Despite the nomenclature, they still look great – all of the classic “muscle cars” we saw in the latest batch of screenshots are all *standard*"

If those muscle cars are standards (and have no cockpit view) why I can clearly see the driver, wheel and rear-view mirror through windshell ? :) Thumbs up!

So does that mean that only the Skylines have the interior view?? Jk jk Jk... lol

I'll post this once.

...the interiors have been recreated down to the stitching (standard cars won't have interiors, which is a bit sad, but there are, like, 800 of them)

Unfortunately, it seems quite clear to me. Where else on a car, apart from the cockpit, do you get stitching?

from the interview, the thing is clear: no cockpit. However i dont' believe in that interview.

No it isn't where does the interview say, "no cockpit view" ?

Something has clearly been lost in translation.

That's messed up, as it says "Premium" on all cars in the car slection video. This is just getting more and more confusing...

Finally somebody who understand difference betwen cockpit and interior!!!
Sorry for my english

How does that prove anything?! The definition of interior is something on the inside, therefore interior meaning cockpit (interior of cars cabin) or interior meaning engine (interior of engine bay) are both valid possibilities - we should wait for confirmation rather than everyone claiming their theory is the correct one!

I will put 100 bucks on this theory 👍

the interiors have been recreated down to the stitching, standard cars won't have interiors.. engine is full of stitching? pretty clear to me.

Imo however almost all cars will have cockpit. i don't believe eurogamer.

To me this is CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!! Thank you phos! Now can we move on the wind tunnel spam!?:sly: Err.. AUTOCLAVE!

You're welcome, I'm just getting tired of misinformed posts. It's really annoying. Some folks that haven't been to this forum before just spamming "herp derp no cockpits D="

Anyway, yes, that is an autoclave at the end of the video... google images will reinforce that fact easily.

Stitching

mistranslation for...

Edit, as someone who speaks and deals with Arabic often, mistranslations like that happen often.

bolting, connectors, etc.

:tup:Hell, deductive reasoning debunks this image as a wind tunnel; even for those who have never seen, used or heard of an autoclave - a wind tunnel requires several things= Ample lighting, access to the object for sensors and such and (the most important thing.....wait for it....) a large duct for AIR, on both sides. Sorry, your so right about new folks (love em!, was one of em!) not thinking just reacting. Alright back to interiors......:ouch:

It should have all cars with cockpit view only because of the the psp game. It had all cockpit view didn't it? Even if it does not we could possibly get them later on through dlc like many other games do when they need to adjust content. You guys honestly worry to much sometimes

haha! Why not throw another spanner in the works? :)

GTP needs a delete message feature o_o. I double post often by accident and there is no way of fixing it >_<

If any of you haven't noticed yet, this was just posted in another thread:
here: http://nzgamer.com/ps3/previews/862/gran-turismo-5-eyes-on.html things are different:

As Kazunori began speaking, aided by a translator, we learnt that Gran Turismo 5 would have over 1000 cars in its tally. Over 800 of which fall into the standard cars list, offering casual through to sports car models, many of which make a welcome return from previous GT games. The other 200+ are premium model cars, each one beautifully recreated from the engine outwards to satisfy any petrol-head.

Although all of the cars are perfectly modelled, the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail that the standard cars don't. For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors and the standard cars aren't designed to take structural damage in crashes. Asking why this was the case, Kazunori honestly replied that it was simply down to the painstaking amounts of time it takes to re-create them all. When you see the level of detail, it's amazing they were able to do even 200 of them.

fully recreated and damage for premium.

less detail and no damage for standard.

And I still don't see the words cockpit and view/camera...
Wait for a 100% valid source and a perfect translation to clarify this thing.

Until then please stop saying "YES all cars will have cockpit / NO just 200 cars will have it".

it doesn't have sense that in gt5p that is a 2007 game has more than 70 cars with cockpit and after nearly 4 years they did only 120 more with cockpit..
it has sense about interiors but not cockpit...
and if it true that we could see cockpit tuning, every car must have it...
