Do you think drifting will still be featured in Gran Turismo 4?

I voted yes but I hope it's been canned, because I'm really not in drifting. And if there is, I'm hoping it's not part of the 100 % completion cause I'll have to do it. :yuck:

See ya :sly:

So because you're not into it, it should be left out? What about the countless people in both Japan and America who love the sport?

And for that matter, any manufacture, car, or track you're "not into" should be left out?

You people astound me with your attitudes.

Sry to say this, but I have a problem with you. You say "drifting is a sport. Some like it. some don't."

Same goes for NASCAR Buddy!

IN fact, NASCAR is US' biggest motorsport. Over 2 million fans show up at NASCAR races every year. Heck, there about 2 times as many NASCAR fans as there are ALMS fans b/c not alot have heard of it to. And people here don't have to agree with you on that and neither do I. Why does it suck? B/c all they do i drive on an oval? Sears Point buddy. And Super Speedway pretty much the same thing.

Face it. You think NASCAR sucks b/c it is your opinion. I respect that like other should, and you and other should respect my opinion and others that NASCAR does not suck.

it's about time someone said this i mean people have no respect. nascar is awesome one of the rawest least complex motorsports. so much comes down to how big a drivers cojones are and how well he knows the physics of his car, turning left all day what an a** hole

Saying again...

And exactly the same can be said for drifting, it's all about bravery, technique and proper tuning. I mean thats pretty much what it takes for ANY automotive sport. I think it's like when everyone complained about the inclusion of Rally in GT. It's a part of racing and its heritage and I think KY wants GT's fans to appreciate all manner of automotive competition (hell, Automotive photography too!).

lol was funny to see the response to my post saying 'you can't drift in GT4'!

I don't care if the drift mode is part of the 100% completion, because I don't care about 100% completion (unless it rewards you with a unique car worth having which I doubt).

I'm not the "fanboy" type, but rest assured that fans of the "Initial D" series will feel at home to have the base model cars for others to modify to their liking. So anyone who wants to know about drifting should rent videos or DVDs of the "Initial D" series. You don't have to know about the storyline, the characters, or anything like that, just take a look at the driving action. When a friend of my brother borrowed the "Initial D" series, I had a chance to look at Episode 1 all the way to "Five Dangerous Hairpins!" (since the second DVD was scratched pretty bad). To me, it's about the best fictional example I can give for drifting. Or of course, just play any "Ridge Racer" game. The reason why I'm bringing this all up is that if you don't know what drifting is about, there are several sources both real and fiction.

Sean Hubbinette (correct spelling?) drifted out his mad sick Dodge Viper across America. I'm not trying to tick off any American car fans, but with some tuning, you can drift out your muscle car in GT4. If I seen a Mustang tackle the Pikes Peak Hill Climb before, I'm sure anyone can take a Mach 1 and show the Japanese drifters that two can play this game. Don't be so quick to judge them as fake racing. If that's the case, you'd might as well say that rally racing isn't real racing if you think what drifters do is fake. Give drifting a chance. It will be the first time that the GT series welcomes drifting as a seperate type of racing. It isn't going to be perfect. That's why you work on it in later builds. This is assuming that drifting is good in the game but "could have been better," which will happen 70% of the time.

Give it a try. I will.
