Hmmm, maybe on friday nights we could have a cruise night with drivers flashing their lights and with Spectator mode. People could gather around the circuit and watch.
Races and Track Days
First and foremost is the Race. In addition to the free match races as seen in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue where you don’t know who you’ll race against next, it will now be possible to gather your closest friends and acquaintances, set a variety of rules, and enjoy races the way you want to.
And of course racing isn’t the only thing you can do. You can host "Track Days", where everyone can drive freely on the track. You can try to reduce your laptimes, teach someone how to drive, or just enjoy drifting. There’s an infinite amount of ways to have fun here.
In Gran Turismo 5, every player has their own "My Lounge" racing room prepared for them online. This is a private room that only your "Friends" set through the PlayStation®Network can enter.
In My Lounge, it is possible to set race regulations and tracks of your choice, and hold racing events with your friends. Up to 16 players can participate in the race, and even if you are not in the race yourself, you can watch it through a variety of race cams. You can also participate in free runs before the start of the race.
Imagine this: You set a time for a race using the messaging feature, and then wait for people to arrive while you race free runs on the track. Your friends start to join one by one, and once everyone’s arrived, the race can be started. Friends that showed up later can watch the race and chat.
In my lounge, you can wait while watching current races through the live cameras, provided with a large variety of different camera angles.
You can monitor the lap times and best section times of participating friends, and of course you can also chat by voice or text.
You can watch the race from exciting views, as if you were in the race yourself.
I would say they are for sure going to have track days and custom races, but it doesn't seem like it is open to the public. Meaning that only you and your friends on your friends list can join in on the track day fun. Either way it sounds awesome to just mess around chasing your friends forever. Hopefully you will be able to pull into the pits to change cars or tune it in the middle of the track day.
This scenario seems to be heaven for all the childish racers whom want nothing else than ruin someone elses fun, if you know what I mean.Do you guys think that GT5 will have the ability to set online sessions so you have an infinate amount of laps to drive on? I think it would be fun because you wouldn't have to worry about racing, just driving. It would be like just taking a car to a track and driving round and round.
What do you guys think?
