Does Anyone Watch Wrestling? (WWE, AEW, TNA, NWA, etc)

I wonder if Jericho has a clause in his contract that allows him to do stuff with other promotions? Because he also has done stuff with RoH recently, albeit in a non-wrestling role.

Either way hopefully that show makes it to AXS without too much delay.

My understanding of the matter is Jericho is technically a free agent at the moment, having been doing his recent WWE stints on short-term deals.

That certainly makes more sense than WWE playing nice with other promotions (sadly).

Raw tonight then comes from the UK in Manchester, its the first Wrestling event in that arena since it was reopened in mid September, it was closed for three months after the terrorist attack there in May.

Miz TV will have Kurt Angle as its guest (that should be good!) plus a Guitar-on-a-pole match between Elias and Jason Jordan.

Pretty much. Usually he sticks around until Fozzy puts out another album, then takes his leave to go on tour with them and does other stuff in the interim. WWE knows he's not going to intentionally screw them over, so they give him a lot more latitude then they do with other guys.

This past week has seen two examples of one of my bigger wrestling pet-peeves. That being bad timing that makes the fact it's scripted painfully obvious.

The first is when William Regal had all the details of the War Games match worked out immediately after all 3 teams clashed for the first time.

The second time was last night when the Raw locker room seemingly knew in advance that the New Day was going to pop up as Kurt didn't have to try to hard to wrangle everyone up, in fact he had several with him seconds after their music hit (which is another thing that bugs me, they are making a surprise invasion, why is their music loaded up and ready?).

I know it's all scripted, but could they at least try hiding that fact a little bit?

Kayfabe has been dead since Benoit, and moreso given social media presence. That said, I like how War Games was presented. Everyone knows it's scripted, and most crowds exploit that fact. Trying to hide it now would make everyone look stupid.

It would still be nice for them to at least try.

It's like those reality/game shows where they make it seem like the contestants are in real danger even though you know they aren't.

WWE have been beyond the point of trying I think.

Quite enjoyed Raw, the Joe-Balor match was really good as was the tag title match, Great to see Pete Dunne make his Raw debut too. 👍

Kinda hard to avoid the Smackdown spoilers tonight.....

Let me just say, I hope what happened on Smackdown isn't temporary and is a permanent change

...at least until Jinder Mahal actually gets decent build up to actually be seen as a credible champion. Him being used as a token champion for India was a really bad move

John Cena has just been announced as the fifth man for SmackDown Live's Survivor Series team.

So no-one has actually mentioned what happened last night yet, so allow me...

AJ Styles is the new WWE Champion after beating Jinder Mahal on Smackdown last night!

Now isn't that a bit better!

The title change made two bits of history, it was the first time the WWE title changed hands on Smackdown since September 2003 when Brock Lesnar beat Kurt Angle for it, and perhaps the biggest one is that its the first time that the WWE title has changed hands on foreign soil in over 54 years!

John Cena is the fifth guy on the Smackdown team.

Even better than the main event was watching Becky beat up James (does that mean Becky > AJ Styles?).

I do have to wonder how bad ticket sales are though with all these seemingly last-minute changes.

Mahal just put out a statement on his Twitter saying Styles was the better man for one night and he will get 'his' title back, he also said that he is not injured nor has he violated the Wellness Policy, there were rumours....

I don't know about the bad tickets sales but Survivor Series is definitely a bigger show now.

AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar definitely sounds much more interesting to watch.

There are some very big names in the 5-5 Men's match....Balor, Joe, Cena, Orton, Nakamura and Angle, its really weird that Jason Jordan is there isn't it?!

Also, the possibility of Cena v Angle, Roode v Balor, Nakamura v Balor etc...

A lot of talk about New Day v The SHEILD, don't think that's been made yet, might be because of Reigns' condition and whether he'll be cleared, plus there's already seven matches on the card anyway so its pretty stacked....unless its four hours...

It still baffles me that WWE didn't steal AJ from TNA a long time ago.

Now that Mahal's reign is over, which reign is worse? Great Khali's WHC run or Jinder's WWE Championship run?

I'd say Jinders. Khalis was shorter and at least he somewhat was booked to be a terrifying wrestler (even though his wrestling ability didn't support this claim) and you know, wasn't intended as a token champion for a particular demographic.

I think Jinder was worse because on top of what @RESHIRAM5 said, I felt there was potential for it to be a good run, unlike Khali.

Also, Kevin and Sami were sent home from the European tour for apparently refusing to do WWEs dumb ideas (they were supposed to take a beating from New Day). And have also supposedly been rather vocal backstage.

Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe have been honouree members of the SHEILD in the last few night of the tour in place of Roman Reigns, Angle made his first WWE appearance in the UK in 11 years in Leeds on Tuesday, Reigns is expected back on Raw next week.

The New Day tried to put a Raw live show 'under siege' last night, didn't end well for them as they were met by Balor, Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus, Rollins and Ambrose.....yeah they got crushed!

Some big news broke this week about a big potential return on Raw this week, I know who it is so I wont spoil it....but you might know who it is also.

Hint hint: THIS IS MY HOUSE.

What does your house have to do with a returning wrestler? Unless he/she lives with you? :sly:

Grab your coat.

So after quite an eventful European tour Raw is back on more familiar ground tonight coming from Atlanta. Should be a packed show too with Roman Reigns' return to re-unite the SHEILD. Lesnar and Heyman will be there to give their thoughts on now facing AJ Styles at Survivor Series on Sunday, plus Paige is expected to make her long-awaited return too......there I said it!

The Smackdown women had a lot of fun on tour, remember how James Ellsworth got beat and humiliated by Becky Lynch?....that was just the start!, every night on the tour during a live show all the women beat him up and they were hitting him with iconic finishers like the Stunner and the Peoples Elbow......Every. Single. Night!

Rumour is Neville may not be leaving WWE after all and may return soon. Hopefully it's on the main roster where he belongs.

Edit: Triple H is replacing Jason Jordan!
