I wasn't a fan of the finish, I thought it wasn't great, but another thing that's not great is the over-reaction to it. We are all going to forget about it in a week.

I really enjoyed the match and the storytelling was brilliant, it was hard not to be emotionally invested and I thought that both Cole and Barrett were fantastic with some of the calls and lines, Gunther winning was the right call but like I said having Cena tap out wasn't. I enjoyed the rest of the show too.

I loved the Cena tributes through-out the show and that Cena video package/montage at the end was brilliant.

I don't think that there will be another one like him.

I feel that if it was Knight that won, the reactions would be more positive.

I definitely don't agree. Tapping out also symbolises the end of his character, Cena smiling also was a great touch knowing there is nothing left for him and this was how it ends. It was poetic and is something thatll last a long time due to how much heat it gives Gunther (when people don't suddenly bring attention to Triple H and make the show about him)

Passing out for the "preservation" of Never Give Up does a lot less and sacrifices story for mere fan service. This is the one opportunity to break that trend due to the fact its the finale of the Cena character and they took it.

I finished watching Saturday night Main event yesterday with my children and I enjoyed most of the matches. The last match with Gunther was good. I have no issues with the ending but like others have said I didn't like the crowd's response. My favorite part was when he took off his shoes and his arm & elbow pads and left them in the middle of the ring. Seeing all of the wrestlers come around the ring and CM Punk & Cody Rhodes give their belts to him was a nice touch. I sincerely hope that after that send off he stays retired. I love the fact that even though it was his last show he wanted to allow the young talent to shine.

I feel that RAW tonight will start a little hostile, but I'm sure everyone will calm down later in the show.

The heat that Gunther is going to get tonight will be Nuclear!

Also on tonight:

CM Punk returns.
Stephanie Vaquer v Raquel Rodriguez-women's world title match.
Maxxine Dupri v Ivy Nile-women's IC title match.
The Usos v The New Day.

I'm interested in how Maxxine will perform after watching the clips with her and Nattie.

Well, last night's RAW went better than expected. They made Gunther such a hated person in the locker room, and Pearce straight up told him to leave after his promo.

It was pretty much the perfect segment for him, he wasn't there long but he didn't need to be, the crowd booed him out of the building, almost literally! His smug face was great as well, he loved it!

I thought CM Punk had some great lines in response to Bron Breakker's recent promo's he said that if he ever mentions his wife again he will rip his eyeballs and piss in his brain! He also called his family dumb and single digit IQ.

The masked man was revealed to be Austin Theory, no surprises there, although it did take a few second for me to recognize his with his buzz cut.

It was a good match, not great but there was two relatively inexperienced wrestlers. I'm happy for Maxxine as she has trained hard. She deserves her shot.

Its funny that they showed those training videos with Nattie as Maxxine has actually been training with Nattie and TJ at the Stampede Dungeon.

So apparently it's coming out that either the ref botched his count or Blake Monroe forgot to kick out on time during her Women's North American Championship defense last night

Its very strange though, because the "work it like its a shoot" rule for refs hasn't been a thing in the main roster in awhile or we wouldve had a lot of weirdly timed title changes.

Granted that rule always bugged me, in concept its cool but referees still are the ones getting punished for ruining the match when they are told to work it like a shoot and its the wrestlers fault for not obliging (take the referee taking the fine for the botched finish of Wrestlemania 35 main event when Ronda Rousey wasn't in a visible position for the her shoulders and couldnt get rid of Becky fast enough)

I've watched NXT a lot this past year and I always watch it on Thursdays, I'm even more intrigued to see it now.

Blake was definitely meant to retain her title and I don't know what happened if it was timing or miscommunication or both! They were apparently 'scrambling' behind the scenes and there was a delaying in playing Thea Hail's music and Blake music was played initially instead, NXT taped next weeks show last night as well on the account that its Christmas next week so its going to be interesting to see what happens going forward to say the least!

It sounds like a bit of a mess.

Thea will defend the North American title against Monroe at New Years Evil. Most likely Blake will win.

This is the time of the year where shows get taped, so they can give people time off over the holidays.

WWE are pretty much done for this year, I'll post my good and bad things about WWE in 2025 in a few days. I've been thinking about writing it up for a few weeks now.

Yep Christmas theme.

Bah, that's ruining tradition!

They had a street fight but it was a tree by the ring they used. Didn’t destroy the stage set. Raw was a regular show Smackdown was the holiday episode.

The second season of WWE Unreal on Netflix will premiere on January 20th.

Some of the participants include:

Seth Rollins
Becky Lynch
Cody Rhodes
Rhea Ripley
Pat McAfee
Jelly Roll
R-Truth
IYO Sky
Naomi
Chelsea Green
Penta
Lyra Valkryia

Rhodes, Ripley and Green were featured in the first series but there rest are new.
Seth Rollins is one of those fierce and brave wrestlers out there in the ring. I really enjoy watching some of his tricky and strong moves for his opponents.

So as I promised, here is my year in review for WWE this year, with things I liked and didn't like.

Things I Liked.

John Cena's initial heel turn at Elimination Chamber.

Bianca Belair v Rhea Ripley v IYO Sky, women's world title match at WrestleMania (probably my match of the year)

John Cena v AJ Styles

Becky Lynch's heel turn and her run as women's IC champ (probably her best work)

Naomi's heel run and her brief time as women's world champion before she got pregnant.

The men's US title open challenges (both Sami Zayn and Ilja Dragunov)

NXT in general, I've watched it a lot this year and for me its the best show of the three, its such an easy watch and there are 10 wrestlers I can pick who are ready for the main roster right now, the future is bright.

The last few months of Cena's retirement tour/run.

The booking of the women's tag title has been better this year, they have been on TV a lot more lately and some big names are involved.

Things I didn't like.

John Cena's heel run after the turn at Elimination Chamber.

Overpriced and extortionate ticket prices

Sponsors....sponsors everywhere!

Brock Lesnar's return.

The current booking of the women's US title.

The current booking of both tag titles.

Wrestlepalooza (it was billed as this huge show but it was anything but)

Summerslam (just didn't need to be two nights, or in a big stadium)

The number of matches that involves distractions and outside interference that lead to someone winning or the match being DQ'ed, it happens a lot and its lazy booking.

I think that's everything, although I've probably forgotten some!
