I didn't want to do Knight/Hendry since everyone is behind Knight right now, and it wouldn't be a good look for Hendry if he loses in his debut match. It would be an amazing match, though...

Its been reported that Smackdown will go back to three hours in January. :indiff:
Honestly length really doesn't matter in terms of quality I learned.

I used to hate the 3 Hour format of Raw until near the end. 2023 to 2024 Raw was really good and that was 3 Hours. Was way better than the 2 Hour Bloodline show where the champion might not even actually show up on Smackdown.

Smackdown reverted back to 2 Hours and nothing was fixed. Smackdown writing has just been terrible for a long while and people are only realising it cause the bias towards Roman Reigns heel run mixture of both the hype mongering and Reigns being a really good actor inspite of the writing is all gone leaving it exposed.

The problem with Smackdown is entirely within the writing team

I now have a feeling that Solo's opponent will be del Rio... I don't know why...

I mean losing the world title on an injury and roll-up is a time-honored tradition but COME ON THERE'S BETTER WAYS TO GO ABOUT IT THAT DON'T MAKE THE FORMER CHAMPION LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT

There's a lot of talk that Santana's been courted by NXT like Hendry was, so of course they did the exact same thing they did with Hendry by giving him the title at the end of his contract and then immediately taking it off him (because TNA apparently only does one year contracts).

TNA is basically just a talent mill for WWE at this point.

A little WWE roundup.

John Cena.
Tonight is Raw at Madison Square Garden, it will be John Cena's final Raw appearance and he will open the show and will also be competing. His opponent for tonight is unknown but my guess is that it will a copy of last week when Dom interrupted and they had an IC title match which Cena won, but this time I think Dom will win his title back. After tonight Cena will have just two appearances left which is at War Games and SNME in just under a months time.

The Cena tournament is rumbling on, at Smackdown this past Friday Jey Uso beat The Miz and LA Knight beat a returning Zack Ryder/Matt Cardona to progress, its been reported since that Cardona's appearance was only a one-off. Tonight sees NXT's Je'von Evans taking on Gunther on his return from injury and time off, plus Solo Sikoa taking on another mystery opponent which I seriously doubt will be Ryback! One other note on this tournament is that we still don't know what the format is as WWE haven't shown us the bracket yet, the first round winners could all be going into a battle royale, rather than just a standard second round.

War Games.
So War Games is next Saturday and we know both of the War Games matches, on the men's side its Breakker and Reed of The Vision, Logan Paul (taking injured Seth Rollins place) and Drew McIntyre taking on CM Punk, Cody Rhodes and The Usos, both teams need a fifth member and for the faces its likely to be Roman Reigns but I love it to be Cena as I'm 99% sure he has never been in a War Games match, for the heels my guess is that Brock Lesnar will be the fifth guy but it has been reported that it could be Austin Theory. For the women's the tag team division are involved, just three faces so far in Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss and IYO Sky with four heels in the Kabuki Warriors with Nia Jax and Lash Legend. There should be at least two other matches for that show but no indication of what they could be but there is still time, the build and booking of the show is going nicely so far.

One other thing I thought I'd mention.
Also on Raw tonight is the women's Intercontinental title match between champ Becky Lynch and challenger Maxxine Dupri...and I think Dupri should win. She's looked great in the previous two matches and the crowds got behind her, she has worked and trained hard so i think she earned it, I think Becky has held the title long enough and it should be about making new stars, and its at MSG so why not??

Dolph Ziggler is clearly close enough to Ryback
:sly:

Also somehow it'll be a surprise round-robin affair
:sly:

Cena v Dom for the IC title has been made for War Games, last night Cena teamed up with Sheamus and Rey Mysterio to take on Judgment Day.

Dolph Ziggler was the mystery opponent who took on Solo Sikoa, Dolph put in a great performance and sold like hell like he always does but like Matt Cardona he ended up losing. Gunther beat Je'von Evans to progress which is a standard round-robin tournament.

Maxxine Dupri did beat Becky Lynch to be new women's IC champion with help from AJ Lee, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are the fifth guys for the men's War Games teams as Raw had a chaotic ending.

And it seems that AJ Lee and Lynch will be part of the Women's WarGames after watching that segment between Lee and Ripley.

A bit of unfortunate news, Sheamus has got a shoulder injury so he has been pulled from the Cena tournament because he is not medically cleared, he progressed to the next round after beating Shinsuke Nakamura a couple of weeks ago.

I'm a bit gutted for him as I thought he could have won it and faced Cena at SNME in his last match, he definitely would have been a good choice.

No word on what WWE plan to do about it but there will more news on Smackdown, its an interesting twist.

Becky Lynch and AJ Lee are the fifth members of the women's War Games teams, we still don't know who LA Knight will face in the next round of the Cena tournament as they did mention Sheamus' injury but they said we would have to wait until next Friday to find out who his replacement is, Carmelo Hayes and Penta progressed to the second round last night.

Got tickets for the double taping show in Grand Rapids in December on the 19th. That’ll be my first live shows.
Having been to a double taping show in the past, I'll advise you to get a good amount of rest beforehand because you will feel burnt out by the end of it. The pacing of a show that's being taped is noticeably different from a live one that has to maintain a certain level of momentum from start to finish, and they way a double taping is structured is even more different.

Guess its been 10 years since the Injury era of WWE, time to relive it
That was very unfortunate for Penta. He has been working with a bad shoulder for a while, though. Guess it finally caught up to him...

But, I think Solo/Gunther would be a good brawl.

Sucks for me I’ll have to work that Friday in the morning I’ll be fine. I’m assuming they do Raw first then Smackdown for the double taping.

I'm not sure if they've changed up the format since I went (about 6 years ago), but the way they did it was the first hour was the big matches and a couple promos for the taped show, then they did the live show, and then after that wrapped there was a 10 minute break and it was a couple minor taped matches with some more promos breaking them up, and then they re-filmed the ending of a first hour match which they had turned some of the lights down for to hide that people had started leaving. Basically the taped stuff they wanted the crowd to be hot for was done first like pseudo dark matches, that got everyone charged up for the live show, and then the stuff they didn't need a big crowd reaction for was done at the end.

Solo was meant to win the match anyway so it doesn't change anything, sucks for Penta though after a great debut year.

I hated the Dominik segment with the 'mini' Cena as I thought it was in poor taste, I'm also surprised that they hasn't criticism about it, and i thought that Vince was back booking the show.

On a lighter note that Brock Lesnar slip during his entrance was hilarious!

That botch was very funny

I'm very surprised how quickly he recovered from that. And after that segment when the show ended, he even carefully tip-toed over that spot.

Also, that 'mini' Cena was from a mini wrestling promotion, and he actually enjoyed doing that segment.

To give credit to Vince, (surprisingly), he deliberately told Big Cass to not kick mini Daniel Bryan and was pissed that Big Cass did anyway and waa part of his downfall to being released.

It was the worst segment WWE have done all year for me, its 2025 and they should do better.

A few months ago they had Naomi slide a racist remark at Iyo. I guess this shouldn't be surprising when that flew under the radar.

Makes sense, last night's NXT was taped last week as well.

WWE Survivor Series War Games is tomorrow night, here is the card.

Women's World Championship.
Stephanie Vaquer (c) v Nikki Bella

Intercontinental Championship.
John Cena (c) v Dominik Mysterio

Women's War Games Match.
AJ Lee, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, IYO Sky & Rhea Ripley v Becky Lynch, Lash Legend, Nia Jax & The Kabuki Warriors.

Men's War Games Match.
Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Jey & Jimmy Uso v Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker

Just the four matches but the two War Games matches will take up most of the show. I suppose they could add another match to the card on Smackdown tonight but I have no idea what it could be. both War Games matches are pretty stacked with big names. The show tomorrow is at a Baseball stadium in San Diego, I read this week that they sold 41,000 tickets for it, its probably more now.

Smackdown tonight sees the Cena tournament continue with LA Knight taking on another mystery opponent because of the Sheamus injury, I think this time its someone who has already taken part in the tournament getting a second chance, Jey Uso v Rusev is the other quarter final tonight.
