It could be Randy's dad.

Orton will be on the show tonight, both men's and women's tag titles are on the line.
Wow, amazing that Orton is still a strong fighter to this day. Me and my grandparents saw him on WWE on the USA network for years and saw him go through many battles over a 15 year period. Not a fan of women wrestling though. Even though most of the girls are pretty there in the ring.

Sami Zayn is the new United States champion, he beat Carmelo Hayes during Hayes' open challenge but had interference from Trick Williams, Zayn now faces Trick for the title at Mania which will likely become a triple threat with Hayes involved, a lot of people are unhappy with the title change saying Zayn didn't to win the title.

Drew McIntyre v Jacob Fatu in an Unsanctioned match has been made for Mania which is in three weeks. Randy Orton methodically destroyed Matt Cardona in 15 minutes before he had a great pull apart brawl with Cody Rhodes in which Jelly Roll tried to help but Roll ended up with an RKO. Orton was still talking to someone on the phone again saying he will see him soon, we still have no idea who this person is.

Not too much else to report from Friday night, its been reported that Nikki Bella suffered an injury during the Bella tag match with Flair and Bliss.

John Cena will be the host of this years WrestleMania.

Raw comes from Madison Square Garden tonight with three title matches, both the men's and women's tag titles are on the line with the Usos defending their world tag titles in a street fight against Paul and Theory of the Vision. Penta also has a Intercontinental title open challenge. Roxanne Perez is expected to return tonight after missing the past few months after she had a benign mass removed from her back.

Four more matches made for WrestleMania.

Finn Balor v Dominik Mysterio
Fatal four way for the women's tag titles. Jax/Legend, Bliss/Flair, The Bella's, Lyra/Bayley.
Ladder match for the Intercontinental title. Penta, Je'von Evans, JD McDonagh, Rusev, Dragon Lee.
Seth Rollins v Gunther.

That last one is a bit random, it was announced that Rollins has been medically cleared to compete, he was about it hit Paul Heyman with a curb stomp on a chair when Gunther pulled him out of the ring an locked the sleeper on him.

Logan Paul and Austin Theory won the tag titles from The Usos. Triple H had to get involved in keeping Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar apart, Stephanie McMahon showed up to warn Cody Rhodes about this version of Randy Orton.

So, how is Cody saying Stephanie isn't like her father meant to be an insult?
I presume the connotation was supposed to be that Stephanie had everything handed to her while Dusty had to earn it (that's hard times, daddy), but it didn't really seem to fit the context of the segment. I guess they were trying for a nostalgia pop of some sort?

If anyone wants to feel old, the last episode of WCW Nitro aired 25 years ago tomorrow. (and strictly speaking the second-to-last episode of WCW content as there was one episode of WorldWide that aired on the 31st)
Same story because WrestleMania X7 was 25 years ago today 🧓

Unrelated edit but about those Jericho WWE retirement run rumors:

We should know the identity of the person that Randy Orton is having phone conversations with on Smackdown tonight, which is in Orton's home town of St Louis.

It looks like content creator ISHOWSPEED will be involved in a Mania match, LA Knight hijacked Speed's stream last night and threw him into his camera, Speed accidently knocked Knight out with brass knuckles on Raw so this was Knight getting his own back, the match will likely be a six man tag involving The Usos and Theory/Paul of the Vision.

So...it was Pat McAfee, that was the guy Orton has been speaking too all along, he came to the ring and low-blowed Cody Rhodes and then went on long rant about how the current state of Wrestling sucked and Orton should be the one to save it. The whole thing just felt so weird, all this build and speculation and it was Pat McAfee??! The crowd were not behind it at all and the reaction since has been mostly negative, apparently this was a TKO decision and not a WWE decision as they thought that Pat would help with the EPSN stuff.

The build for the Rhodes/Orton match hasn't been great but you can say that for a few of the Mania matches, Orton had a great heel turn a few weeks ago but they haven't capitalized on it.

Oh well at least we have Danhausen, my god that was brilliant last night!

Also in more good news, the fight over the stupid lantern is over, Tama Tonga fought with Solo to give it back to Uncle Howdy saying that it had caused them nothing but trouble and they should move on, so its now back in Howdy's hands, the stupid long running feud is over!

So not only did they pick the most underwhelming choice for the mystery person they've been hyping up for weeks and weeks, but they also decided he should have the "heel with legitimate complaints" gimmick that nobody likes because it's actively undermining the point of bringing up those complaints in the first place.

We should really be calling this the Wasted Potential Era of WWE.

So NXT Stand and Deliver was last night, it's NXT's biggest night of the year which normally takes place on Mania weekend but they changed it this year due to the packed schedule of that weekend.

There were two major title changes, first Lola Vice become the new NXT women's champion in the opening match, she beat reigning champ Jacy Jayne and rising star Kendal Gray in a triple threat. it is deserved for Lola Vice and its her first title in WWE although she is AAA mixed tag champ with Mr. Iguana, Jacy Jayne held the title for 139 days in her second title reign and she was fantastic with it, the title made her into a star and she had a great 2025.

Next Tony D'Angelo is the new NXT Champion beating reigning champ Joe Hendry, Ethan Page and Ricky Saints in the fatal four way main event, it feels deserved for Tony too as he has been on NXT for years and he has never won the big one, Joe Hendry's title reign lasted for 60 days.

All the other champions on the show had successful defenses, Myles Bourne defended his North American title against Jonny Gargano, Tatum Paxley defended her women's North American title against Blake Monroe, The Vanity Project defended their tag titles against Los Americanos, Sol Ruca beat Zaria in the grudge match between two former friends.

The show was a great watch and i really enjoyed it.

Now I see why they don't do title changes much anymore. It's so they don't have to keep switching out those huge posters all the time.

Tomorrow WWE will announce the match schedule for WrestleMania, which matches will be on which night.

Punk really went off, he said the Rock was a Hollywood superstar, he said that Roman Reigns had dog food poured over him thanks to a weary old man, and then the best one was for Pat McAfee whom he might have called 'MAGAfee', he said he had a receipt coming for him and that he should his agent and tell him to lower the ticket prices, referring to Ari Emanuel. It was his best promo for a long time, Roman Reigns wasn't there to respond.

The six man tag match between Usos/LA Knight and The Vision/Speed has been made for Mania, Demon Finn Balor will return for the match with Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio has been added to the IC title ladder match making it a six man. the main event segment last night was the contract signing between Oba and Brock which never got signed because they went for each other and they had to be separated.

Been hearing reports that McAfee originally turned down being part of the Orton/Rhodes feud, but when TKO couldn't find anyone else willing to take it on they gave him a deal too good to refuse to make sure it went off. Shades of David Arquette there, if it's true.

CM Punk promo was not scripted, instead he was given bullet points to follow. A lot of his promo was from the heart and he was airing grievances from the locker room.

Asuka v IYO Sky could be made for Mania but they are waiting to see if Nikki Bella will be cleared in time for the four way women's tag title match, if she isn't the Kabuki Warriors will take the Bella's place and Sky's role at Mania will be unknown.

Pat McAfee says he has a big surprise for Smackdown tomorrow night, i hope its that Orton was just using him and then he attacks him and RKO's him out of nowhere.

WWE will start work on the WrestleMania stage and set on Monday with the stage reveal set to be later in the week, my guess is the reveal will be next Friday which will be the day before Mania starts, WWE will also be recording some footage of the Bruno Mars concert at the Allegiant stadium this weekend but Mars won't be in attendance for Mania, that sounds interesting.

I hate the WWE title situation right now. All this rubbish with Pat McAfee and its been reported that McAfee will be in Orton's corner for the match with Jelly Roll being in Cody's corner, all this will set up a tag match at Backlash.

So to recap, one of the biggest matches of WrestleMania weekend for the most prestigious title in all of Wrestling involving two huge stars, will just be used to set up as tag match involving two non-wrestling people....what a joke.

Yeah, this year's Mania has been a mess. Too many celebs to my liking. I don't even care for Speed, but I do like Jelly.

I don't mind Pat or Jelly but the match doesn't need them, Cody and Randy have a huge history which they could have used in the build up but they haven't at all, when Randy turned heel on Cody there was a lot of potential there but it has been wasted.

I'm looking forward to Oba v Brock and Punk v Reigns the most, plus the IC title ladder match.

So Pat started off laying into CM Punk, calling him a fake and using his relationship to Saudi Arabia, he also gave the crowd a middle finger several times and called San Jose a ********, Cody came out and had a couple of great lines in response, but then Orton attacked Jelly Roll backstage and which they used to attack Cody again, they then left with the WWE title, the whole thing felt weird and the crowd weren't fully into it.

Jade Cargill beat IYO Sky clean in the main event and it now looks likely that Sky won't be on the Mania card which is sad, Royce Keys made his Smackdown debut beating Berto but i wasn't that impressed. Danhausen also made his in ring debut when he took on and beat Kit Wilson..
