This isn't really wrestling related, but he was inducted: Ozzy has passed today.

He was one of my favorites when I was a child. Prayers for his family

Tuesday, Ozzy was gone. Today, it was Hogan's turn. Both men excelled in their respective occupations and were WWE hall of famers and I express condolences to both of them. May there be a ten bell salute for either of them and may they rest in peace.

Despite what he eventually turned out to be (a horrible person), it can't be denied that Hogan had a permanent effect on both pro wrestling and pop culture. I'll always associate him slamming the 2,400 pound Andre the Giant in front of 35 million fans at the Silverdome* as one of the most notable events of the 1980's.

*figures adjusted for inflation

Hogan became wrestling...and Hogan was the embodiment of so much wrong with people. I'll always appreciate the matches, but he was also one of the first that I learned what you see on TV is only a thin veneer of what they want you to see...the truth is never as simple and rarely as clean.

OMG, Hulk Hogan died today, he was 71. I need to look online and research what exactly happened to him. Rick Flair was very upset about this.

From what I heard, he had health complications after his neck surgery.

I know what he turned out to be, but Hulk Hogan was a trailblazer and one of a kind who transformed the industry, he also transcended the industry and was one of the first to branch out in to TV and movies and had an impact in pop culture and Americana.

There has to be a 10 bell salute to him on Smackdown.

I'm gonna look on WWE's website, I'm sure they're doing a huge tribute to him. Rick Flair was bawling and crying over losing Hulk Hogan.

So Smackdown tonight will a big tribute to Hulk, WWE have asked Hall Of Famer's and legends to make video tributes which will be shown at different points during the show, some of those legends will record theirs at the venue tonight so they will be in attendance, some of the names include Sgt. Slaughter, Gerald Brisco, Ted DiBiase, Jim Duggan and Jimmy Hart.

There is no word about a 10 bell salute/tribute, there should be one.

Away from the Hulk stuff here's what else is advertised:

Cody Rhodes appearance.
WYATT SICKS v Andrade & Rey Fenix-tag title match.
Alexa Bliss v Roxanne Perez
Randy Orton, Jelly Roll, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre segment.

We will also learn the match schedule for Summerslam, which matches will be on which night.

Great tribute to Hulk Hogan to start Smackdown last night, they had a 10 bell salute with everyone on the entrance-way and then there was a fantastic video package which was narrated by Triple H. WWE always does this sort of stuff so well.

Two more matches made for Summerslam next weekend, Sami Zayn v Karrion Kross and a big six team TLC match for the WWE tag titles, this came during a chaotic end to the show with all six teams brawling at ringside.

Cody Rhodes gave a pretty standard promo saying he wanted to face the real John Cena (no Cena last night) and the Jelly Roll/Orton/McIntyre/Paul stuff was good fun, Jelly Roll used a Bossman slam on Logan Paul.

Drew McIntyre is currently stuck in the UK after a friend's wedding. He forgot his passport. Hopefully things will get sorted out for him to return in time for Summerslam this weekend.

Its should be fine as there is time before Summerslam, The Miz has said he is ready to step in for him in that tag match, I wouldn't mind that actually!

That would be cool, but last time Miz and Paul were together they were in a feud. So I don't know how they would explain why they teamed.

Anyone watching WWE Unreal on Netflix?

I'm going to start watching it tonight.

Maybe. I heard from people that they aren't really thrilled with the concept.

I have seen two episodes of it, I've really enjoyed it so far.

Drew McIntyre is back in the US, so that situation has been resolved.

The WWE talent releases in May have seen their 90 notice period expire, meaning the likes of Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai and Shayna Baszler are now free agents.

Very curious start to Smackdown last night with John Cena appearing to revert back to his babyface role. He said that he realized he flushed down the toilet when he bought into somebody else's idea to make shocking TV and when the dust settled everyone went back to their normal lives and left him alone, he also said that he was done pretending to be something he is not and he is not out to ruin Wrestling because he loves Wrestling.

Cody didn't say anything during this and he shared a beer with John and then he just left, I honestly thought it was a ruse and that Cena would attack him, it could still be a ruse though but we have to wait until tomorrow night to find out.

Seth Rollins cashed in his MITB contract last night and became new world heavyweight champion, he cashed in on CM Punk who won the title from Gunther in a great main event. Gunther largely dominated the match and Punk looked dead for some of it but Gunther got 'busted open' towards the end and Punk hit him with two GTS for the win, Rollins came out on crutches and a knee brace but then took them off and attacked Punk with the briefcase before hitting him with the stomp for the win, Punk was champion for 5 minutes and 10 seconds. Its was reported since Rollins got his knee 'injured' a few weeks ago that it was a ruse and he would cash in but it still felt like a surprise and it was called the 'ruse of the century'.

The other title change last night saw Bliss and Flair win the women's tag titles from Rodriguez and Perez in a good match, perhaps one of the best women's tag title matches there has been. Reigns/Uso v The Brons was the opening match and it was really good with Jey pinning Reed for the win, Logan Paul pinned Jelly Roll in the other tag match and that was also good, I thought Jelly Roll was excellent and he should be applauded for how he has handled the last few weeks, it was a great showing from everyone involved in that match last night.

Tiffany Stratton surprisingly retained her title in a forgettable match against Jade Cargill, Stratton has now had 14 successful title defenses, Sami Zayn beat Karrion Kross in another meh match.

Good show last night overall but I think tonight's will be better.

I enjoyed summerslam night 1, watched this morning. Very pleasant wrestling show, aside from Rollins with the cash in at the end which was annoying. But I guess the fun is in the chase, right, so when punk eventually beats Rollins it'll be amazing!

I think Rollins will keep the title until Mania next year and have a big match with Punk for it and Punk wins it back, Punk can maybe win the Royal Rumble.
