Does GT4 apply the "Slipstream" effect?

Hello everyone. I was just curious if GT4 features the slipstream effect, like in F1 races. I haven't noticed anything similar to it in GT3, although i've played the game quite a lot.

Can anyone confirm anything about anything close to slipstreaming?

Thanx.

Slip streaming has been in since GT1...

C.

I love the way the wind noise is in GT4, it's fairly quiet when your slipstreaming a car. Then you pull out and bam! Masses of windnoise.

I love that..

I like the sound of that (no pun intented). It's these little attentions to detail that help make the GT series stand out.

Cheers, Jamie

Hmm didn't notice that in the GT4 demo (although it probably is there too!) sounds like a nice touch :)

I haven't noticed that much yet, but then again I'm not using particularly fast cars right now.. It's probably more noticalbe with the faster cars I guess.

haven't notices anything similar to it in GT3??? are you blind or something? at Test Course for exampel the speed increases about 50 km/h just like that... ;) (if you are in a F1 race or something like that of course...

There even is a mission in GT4 where you have to slipstream yourself to a Nissan Skyline driving 12 seconds in front of you. You start just behind a bunch of other Skylines (with you also driving one), and you have to use their slipstream intelligently to gain those 12 seconds in three laps on the test course. Sounds easy, but it's not. :scared:

Anyway, the slipstream effect has always been quite obvious in all GT releases, so if you have played GT3 quite a lot, I really wonder why you haven't noticed it yet.

Try the high speed ring F1 race in GT3, and that recommended McLaren in Prologue : turn the sound all the way up, and listen while you overtake.Should convince you :)

If GT4 havent got it then it has degenerated!!

GT1-2-3. GTC-GTP 100% all gold.
