Does it ever NOT rain at the Nurburgring? And other Nurb stuff

Ive done about 12 24 Hours of the Nurburgring B-Spec races to level up my Bobs. Ive watched/coached for many of those hours. Why is it that you only get about 3-4 hours of dry then get blasted with 20 or more hours of rain? Ive even seen a few where it never stoped raining from beginning to end. I like the rain touch but its unbearable now lol. I dont even want to attempt driving in that crap during A-Spec, once saves are implemented, for the whole race.

The thing that irks me the most though is the bad AI behavior that also takes control of your Bobs regardless of what your "Pit Strategy" is. After it has been pouring for a while the computer decides to pit everyone, including your Bob, to put on Racing Mediums, while its still pouring lol. But it puts Racing Hards on my car.

Now I use the Pit Strategy for tires only. I select Racing Rain for the next Pit Stop. But the computer puts on Racing Hards:grumpy: So when I come back the 2 lap lead I had is now a 1 lap deficit. I now understand why many of my Nurburgring races happened this way. I saw it with my own eyes yesterday. This is also why the AI cars look like they were involved in a Demolition Derby lol. Why does PD make them put on Slicks during rain? Is it to give the player an unfair chance? Dont understand this programing.

why do you want to level up your bob's...

and why do you watch most of 12 24h races...
make 'em do dreamcar champ, so you'll earn some credits..

but anyway, rain is fun, pd likes it I guess,

and the changing to racing hard is because the AI detects a dry spot of track before the pit lane somewhere so it thinks hmm it must be dry..

or something like that :)

cheers,

It also is almost always raining, when you start a race in Arcade-Mode or Training session. Never had a dry race start.

For this reason I race in my lobby to set my own settings for Nordschleife.

I am still disappointed by the texture-disappearance-bug at 24h-layout.

Are you serious? Why do I want to level up my Bobs???? Because they drive better. One 24 hour Nurburgring race moves your Bob from lvl 0-35. yesterday I decided to do the race with the 787b instead of the X1 so I had to do some coaching.

I meant I watched most of the 12 races not all of the races each for 24 hours lol. I do coach to 2 lap lead to counter PD's idiotic programming so that when I come back home Im not down by 10 laps. Yesterday was the first time I actually watched/coached much of the race[bout 10 hours of it broken up]. Ironically it rained all day yesterday so I stayed in and did some coaching lol.

And Im level 40 Bspec and 34 Aspec so I know how to make money thanks:)
When you retire a driver and pick a new one Im not going to sit for hours clicking on Dream Car Championship when I can set it and forget it with an X2010 on Nurburgring 24 hour and make 4 mil + xp and 600k. Hope you understand the method behind my madness:sly: Thats why Ive done so many 24 hour races. My Bobs die fast.

Also its POURING lol. There are no dry patches its faulty programming by PD once again. Ah well

I can not understand why still, after 6 patches, we can not set weather and starting time in acrade mode just like in multiplayer...

My last race to get 100% completion is nearly finished, the Nurb A-Spec 24hr race with 1hr 20 mins to go, when I started it was nice & sunny for 5hrs or so, then it got dark but stayed dry for the next 6-7 hrs. Then it started to rain and only stopped about 2 hrs ago so not too bad. In the Nurb B-Spec race it again was nice & sunny for 4 hrs, then started raining and didn't stop until the race had finished afaik. (I didn't watch the whole race)

Have to say though, in my A-Spec race where I am currently parked it was tremendous fun driving on the Nurburgring in my power restricted X1 at night and in the rain, it's really scary bombing round corners at 170-180 mph with no idea what's about to come out of the darkness and kill you. :D

Yeah so far I have only done the B-Spec Nur. Will not attempt the Aspec without save or bob implementation. On the Bspec Nur it rans 85 percent of the race. Sometimes it rains from the beginning and ends about 1 hour before race ends. Other times its dry for the first 3-4 hours then rain till the end. Ive also seen it never stop raining.

BTW I never thought about power restricting the X1:tup: Will try that when I get a chance this week or weekend. Maybe it will get me used to it in increments till I can handle full blast.

I'm at level 30 B-Spec, every race available to enter has a Gold trophy next to it. When I got all the Golds and Hit level 40, I'm going to retire B-Spec all together.

What I can't figure out is why keep b-specting once you hit Level 40. Retire a Driver? 4-real? They are all retired when I get to level 40.

Yeah I know Bob's drive better if they're a higher level , but what I was implying is why do you want them to drive better if you've tackled the final B-spec race, I could understand you'd do it for the remote race which one could do for money but it seems to me you don't need to 12 24h races for it, but that is your choice. I understand the method behind your madness and I'm perfectly sure you know how to make money..

It's just that... I can't go 24h without GT5.. I'm not an addict not even a hardcore racer. I just love to buy a car and do a race every evening and timing B-spec endurance races for the time I leave the house (for work, school, girlfriend and friends, for those who read the above and I think I am an addict :D ). I really hated when I had to find the time for my bob to do a 24h race, I did the Le Mans race when I had a busy day of school and I went out that evening.

So I didn't mean to offend you, I was just shocked and sorry for the long post,

Keep racing :)

EDIT: the dry patch I was talking about is indeed a fault in the programming you're right about that, read it in another thread about it, don't know which one sadly

If you really knew your stuff then you would know that the Nurburgring is notorios for it's rain, so it makes sense to represent that in the game.

When I was younger I used to be an addict especially of GT2 and GT3. Not so much an addict of GT5 but I play A-Spec from time to time.

My Bobs make me money for me to buy cars. So when one starts fading I replace em and and fast track them to level 40 with the Nur races. My bobs die fast. The first 3 died in less than 185 races. The latest one died at 79 races. Thats the only time I do 24 hour Nur races. Thats 4 Bobs at 3 Nur races each to get to level 40 which equals 12 Nur races.

Im one of the few people that actually enjoy B-Spec as well. No offence taken.
