What movies are you talking about? Actual movies that you see in a theater, or game trailers, homemade clips, etc?

Upgrade to 2.80 and you just have to drop the .mp4 into the psp root /video folder, no renaming as long as its an mp4 psp video.

@ Sakiale

Hi Are you downloading these from any particular place say apple.com or google video? or are you ripping your dvds so you can play them on your PSP?

If you go to this post of mine LINK

I have a PSP video downlod folder with already compressed videos, all you need to do is download them and put them in the folder names "VIDEO" the psp will then play them, they can be re-named to anything you want (unlike other firmware versions) as long as they are .MP4.

if you want to compress your videos so that they can be played on PSP, grab the 3GP Converter from my downloads list, its a great bit of kit, and unlike allot of software for the PSP its totally free. I dose a great job, you can check out my vidoes to see what they look like, and that wasnt on the best settings.

sprite, thanks for the link 👍
Im just wondering how to get those game demos onto my psp. Ive done it before with the locoroco demo but not sure here. Ive probably just overlooked something but im stumped. :indiff:

For demos: Put it in the game folder in a folder That should be specified by wherever you downloaded from, something like UCUS234....Blahblahblah.
For Videos: Follow the links, however, I hear that some videos don't work in the new video folder and instead work in the old one, which is: Root(The folder that houses the folder named PSP)\MP_ROOT\100MNV01.

hes correct, if your video file name is like this Motostorm.MP4 then it needs to go into that folder above in KT's post, but if it simply says Motorstorm without the extention in the filename then it can go in the video folder, juts play around the only thing that can happen is that it wont play.

as for the demo, ive uploaded they already have the required file name in place you just need to un-rar the files then put them into your GAME folder on your psp and your away.

Okay i have found the file on my psp which is in folder with a number in the game folder. It is the tama-run demo, how do i un-rar the file? thanks

google psp videos not are working again. I guess they need to update the data base or something but no videos from google videoss are working.

Edit: You have to choose Ipod video for some reason but it works....

Ok, I recently bought a PSP (OH NOES), and I can't figure out how to add some videos to it.

Example, I have a South Park episode that's in .AVI format. I'm using a program for Mac called iPSP, which allows you to convert videos to the file types the PSP supports. I did that with the episode, and now I have it in .MP4. However, when I add it to the VIDEOS folder, it says "Data type not supported" or something along those lines. Now, here's the kicker: I can delete it using the PSP and doing it manually with my computer, but the space on the Memory Stick stays the same, acting like I never deleted the video, which I did. So when trying all this, I had to format my Memory Stick several times. Other MP4 videos from Google Video can play normally on the PSP, but when I try to delete it, again, it deletes but I don't have anymore space.

Now, this South Park .MP4 works on my computer, so I try putting it in the 100MNV01 folder that's in the MP_ROOT folder. Still doesn't work. I even tried renaming the .THM and .MP4 files to the way they should be named, like MNV10001.

Now, is there something I'm missing? Why won't it work, even if it's an MP4 that works perfectly on my computer?

And why does my memory stick act like I never have deleted anything from it?

I have absolutely no idea as to why the memory stick is not acting like you have deleted the file. Odd.

I expect you know this already, but make sure you didn't rename the file too. Stupidly, it doesn't like it. Perhaps Sony will release a firmware update where we can actually change names and it'll play the eh?

Sorry Duck, I haven't got any other ideas.

Well, I tried converting another .AVI to .MP4 with iPSP, and... it worked, for some weird reason. I'm not going to try with the South Park episode, since I downloaded it as an MP4 at Google Video. But I'll remember not to rename anything. 👍

As for the memory stick problem... it's working fine now. :D

anyone knows a free videoconverter (converting to mp4)??? :scared:

I can't find one.. with the one I got I can only convert for 5min so I can't convert a big video.. :(

I'm using 3GP Converter now.. but it's so slow!!! still 0% in progress after about 5 minutes!

EDIT: well, now I've converted a video.. but when i was gonna check it out on the psp it was "Unsupported Data"

Well the thing is, it takes the same amount of time as play back, it plays the video basically, if you have a 3 hour movie you wanna put on your psp, it's gonna take 3 hours to convert, I also use 3GP, very clean piece of software.

Most likely. Good to hear your memory stick has recovered now. I must get myself a new one, I only have a 256mb one :( .
I use 3gpp converter, but then again I'm on Windows (I'm getting a Mac :D:D , soon hopefully) .
Make sure you choose the option for PSP, Direct Renamed then, PuTTe_TuTTe ;) .
