I think we need to make this competition more complex as I feel that too many people are not actually drifting but just pointing their car in such a position that it looks like a drift. I think that there should be a pic of the person entering the corner for the drift, a pic of the person in the middle of the drift and a pic of the person finishing off the drift. I say this as I think that some of these so called drifts would have just endedup in the walls if it was a video.

The precise reasoning you just mentioned is why we have the video competitions. These photo competitions are judging the photo qualities of a photo of a car that appears to be drifting, nothing more. If you dont think it was a good drift and they probably crashed, dont vote for them

Yes I tottaly agree with that except for that some of us havent got the hardware to take part in the video competetions.

and if 50 people posted something like that? what a cluster:censored:. this will probably sound a little harsh, but thats a complete waste of time when you could be putting effort into actually creating a video instead of a sequence of images.

we are trying to keep these competitions as simple as possible while also keeping them as fair as possible.

I understand your situation, however although you can prove that its a drift as shown in the image sequences above, its still a waste because what else are you going to be proving by doing that? can other members on the board look at that and evaluate your technique and give you suggestions on how to improve? nope.

You can post a link to your sequence of images (please do not post the entire sequence in the entry thread, it will be cluttering the thread) if you want others to view them. Its cool to see the sequence but doesnt really serve any other purpose than proving its a drift and creating more photos (dont get me wrong, photos are good)

Yes but using only three pictures is not alot. As long as they are all from the same position with a view of the track for proof along with the best pic.

you can post the three images below your entry photo. I dont think it should be a requirement to enter the contest though since its already been determined that the car just has to appear to be drifting. If you really want to prove skill, go buy a video capture device, because in the end even sequences of pictures dont prove that much.

I agree. I made an animation of a drift (below). It didnt take too long, and it looks quite good.

And i think we should leave this competition to just ONE photo showing your "drift", its been quite successfull so far, lets not make it to complicated , and if we change the rules to three photos instead of one, the photos wont be as creative or as stunning?, do u understand my point?

well if everyone is going to vote for JMURDER367 this week again, I dont want to see any complaining if he wins for the 3rd week in a row. I dont have a problem with it as he does a good job of suggesting a variety of cars and tracks. I could care less whos picking the photos each week, I just enjoy each new challenge to hopefully expand my skills.

i think it should stay as is...this isnt a vid competition so theres no need for a panel. if they want to think u photoshopped ur pic then they dont have to vote for it.

Yeah that would be a good idea except the panel would consist of JMURDER, Heres what i propose, The previous weeks winner is excused from the next competition and they choose the top 15. That way they cannot choose themselves. And this means no one can win two weeks in a row, and gives others a chance to win.
