This is how Suzuka should be raced..Look at how clean they race. All the room they give. And I'm seeing fellow GTPers out there not giving any room if any at all..:scared:

Most races I have with GTP members are like that actually. I mean, the only difference is the fact we arent driving real cars and so we take more risks, leading to some taps and bumps.
A better thing to watch is Touring Cars (BTCC, DTM, whatever), in fact, when I was racing in the Suzuki Swift Tuners Showdown it reminded me a lot of the Renault Clio Cup races. Really close racing with lots of taps and bumps but no serious shunts.

cool vid looks like there going really slow but i doubt they are

yeah, if you were sitting shot gun, you would have soiled your pants about 6 times.

But back to op, great vid. Stuff like this is what GT is all about and i hope we get to see all those cars in GT5.

True, over here on PAL only one GTP driver has been known to fluctuate from the path without provoking. Name no names. But every race i've had with GTPers has been the cleanest by far.

When we drive we don't have to worry about breaking a very expensive classic supercar. Coupled with the fact that it's easier to see beside you in the real deal there's a few more knocks and accidents in GT but I can live with that.

This looks more like an exhibition race too - not a serious balls to the wall race. Watch tomorrows F1 if you want to see one of those.

Good stuff Hamilton,

Anyone care to make some subtitles?

👍
Yep. In Prologue, I don't mind a little paint scraping in my F430. If I had a real F430, I would be upset if a bird crapped on it, let alone bumping another car with it at 130 mph.

Yeah it wouldnt be so bad if some people out there just realize you cant go all out every inch of the track. Raceing is give and take. Also if I screw up going thru 200R and slide off in the grass I'm not going to die so yeah sim racing im sure we take more risk because theres no fear. Mabye if they do introduce damage they should make us pay to fix it, at least in expert races anyway i bet that would keep the noobacains out of there :)

Good ieda man. Yeah, all the noobs would be bankrupted in no time..lol

I think they do take it easy a bit, they are all PRO drivers, but they don't wanna have silly accidents there, so they only Go rough more on straight ways ;)

Yeah, best lap was only doing 2'25s and the fastest speed was 148+ mph. If the real cars can lap this in 2'05s like the game, then they were taking it real easy.

nice video reminds me alot of GT5P with a simple 3 lap race. guess that still wont shut up those people that say 3 laps isnt long enough for a race. it seems to be just fine for these guys.:sly:

That video was awesome! It's the first one I've ever seen of a real race at Suzuka and it looks pretty much just like it does in GT5P. Also...good to know that the pro's can overshoot at casio, too.;)

Check out the footwork at 4:00mins. Accelerating, braking, and clutch all at once. Nicely done, but I can’t quite understand why you’d need to accelerate whilst downshifting. I’m sure there’s a good reason behind it.

Great video.

Keiichi Tsuchiya's move at 9'00 was pure awesome, I watched it at least 5 times.

EDIT: @ Jacoja08: Ever heard of a Heel-toe downshift?

They blip the throttle to bring the engine rpm up to the transmission rpm for a smooth down shift, which lets the car keep a better balance overall.

Just look it up, it's not really easy to accurately sum it up in a few words.

Great video.

They are rev-matching as the downshift (and up by lifting throttle) doesnt create acceleration.

*EDIT* Hmm beaten to it

Exactly. When you’re actually racing you defend and fight for your position. It’s not all wave the other guy past and slow down for a cup of tea. That video isn’t racing, it’s a show.

Yeah! The wheels are not exposed! This is just amateur hour.

;)

Is it just me, or anyone else thinks the guy in the F50 was just toying with the others?
If you check the speed difference when he shoots on the back straight going on to 130R, clearly everything else was just half-throttle...

And the sound that thing produces...

because then no one would have created youtube :sly:

but seriously they need to make a real auto channel that actualy shows races all the time from all over the world not this stupid speed channel that shows crap i could care less about most of the time :indiff:

That race is a completely unrealistic: where are all the R8s & Evos? :)

They definitely drive more conservatively than anyone does in GT5P, maybe it's because they've got DAMAGE activated. ;)

The move at 9.00 is one of my favourites, but it's very hard to pull off clean in GT5P, because you can't tell exactly where your opponent is & if you bump him off you feel like a schmuck.

Notice nobody re-ends the car in front at the chicane.

I think people drive much harder in GT5P because, well, no damage & no danger, but also because I suspect we've driven the track more times than these guys. The one big disadvantage we have, I think, is no real feel for when the car is starting to step out.

Does look like an "exhibition" race to me...
