yeah that sounded pretty cool, the only car that comes close ive found is the RM old camero, keep the revs really low and hold it wide open it sounds kinda like that. they should find that guy and use his engine sounds as a base fore the V-8;s in the game :)

I don't get it. If the word in the OP is what I think it is... the title still makes no sense.

Must be my age :D

100 hp per liter with the stock tune, and only 6psi of boost. 6.... thats nothing my subie rant 14 from the factory. not to mention it made 400ft/lb at 2700 rpm.... I'll give yah the ugly comment, i happen to like the look of the foxbody mustang but its not the best looking car out there. i just love how the turbo drowns everything out. its not even that big i got a 76mm on my stang and a lot of guys run 80mm.

European and Japanese performance cars can achieve 100 bhp/ litre with no turbo.... from the factory. 6 psi is pretty irrelevant when you consider he upgraded the turbo.

Meh. And that guy is a total tard for boosting with without modifying the computer. Wonder how long that engine lasted till it blew.
And yeah, 100bhp/ liter isn't anything. Stock Civic Si's from the factory put out close to that w/o a turbo.

The new SI's are 201 hp. Im not sure if its a 2.0 anymore though, as i have not looked them up.

The 06-11 are 2.0L if I am not mistaken but the '12 are going to 2.2L but sticking around 202HP. My '99 Si puts out 160BHP and it is only a 1.6L. They are all pretty close to that number.

you race him for pinks in youre honda then

nah my grammar sucks

No. And I guess you didn't get my point. The point was the fact that even if you hit that 100BHP per liter, still doesn't mean your car is fast. Now you got it?

Its all about the torque, little motors may make more power per litre etc but nowhere near the torque.

love the sound of those big cams. What boggels my mind is the guys at PD have to have heard cars like this before, yet the V-8s especially and most others sound flat and tinny. I mean i bet the zr1 in gt5 makes more hp than that vette did and it sounds like poo. heck the dude that makes the game races?....

I know it may have been a big ask to realistically record and graft every car's exhaust note into the game, but there are some which defy reason. A great example - Daihatsu OFC sounds exactly the same as the Lancia Delta Integrale when you add the full performance modifications.
Seriously, a true rally legend sounds exactly the same as a sewing machine powered invalid carriage?! Somehow I find that hard to believe.

Umm, no. Compare the E92 M3 to a Holden Commodore and see how much of a difference torque makes. The M3 is more powerful so it trounces the torquey Holden (they are pretty similar weights too). I chose these two cars because the M3 exceeds 100bhp/ litre from the factory and the Holden because you're from Australia (rather than using a car you aren't familiar with), plus they're both V8's.

I agree and understand exactly what you mean but BMW/mercedes/Audi are premium marques and really a catagory above holden/ford/similar makes in every way, their performance their build quality and tolerances (and price) are so much higher so its not a fair comparison. I was thinking more of japanese cars versus domestic cars such as holden/ford/others as they traditionally have smaller engines with higher technology and high peak power figures but are still lacking in the torque department.

Fair point. The torque argument really annoys me because in Ireland most people drive diesels and think that their cars are faster than my Alfa Romeo 156 V6 becuse they have more torque and it costs me a lot of petrol to prove them wrong

There have been plenty of threads about the shortcomings of GT5's sound effects. There's also an entire part of the website dedicated to real life car discussion, and videos. Since this is far more about the latter than the former, I'm closing it.
