Well, where I live we have only had one tornado come through in my life, it was fairly small and didn't damage our house(it did some work on my elem school though). Most tornados go north or south of us, but they still turn on the sirens on in our area, and there's one about 3 blocks from me, loud as all hell, it spins so we get something like this:

it gets annoying but at least we know it works...
