Well I went raving. I didn't try X though. There were mostly whipets there (nitro balloons). I'll keep the nitro in my car thank you. :D

And off topic for the last time. DON'T DISCUSS HONDA'S in here.

Not discuss Hondas? This is not the thread to discuss Honda's anyway...what do you have a against Honda?
And has anyone here ever accually been stupid enough to try X or any of those other "club drugs"?

i have a question....

is x = ecstasy or is it a derivative or something?

And there have been some very clever people that have been doccumented to have taken drugs...... your last president for one.

Our last President meaning...Bill Clinton?

Yes, Slip, X is another name for ecstasy.

Indeed. Mr. Clinton had induldged in his fair share. I'm guessing that there are a few others out there in the business world who have also partaken in the green stuff. Likely others have gone on to stronger stuff.

This references back to my post about people who make large amounts of money, and can afford the habit. You'd like to think that the drug war has drawn a very distinct line. "Either you have or you haven't" But when it comes to a multi-millionaire who can afford to have his own UV lamps, and grow his own in his basement, where does the "I helped blow-up buildings" (from that commercial) figure into the theory?

I'm interested to hear what you think Slip. An educated opinion from the other side of the pond. And ahippy as well... :D

OK x = exstasy /ecstasy / E. ok thanks for that, i wasn't sure.

My Opinion ?..... hmmmm.... OK.

I guess that my opinion is that if you want to do something, and you've researched your subject properly and evaluated the risks and you take the appropriate precautions.... Well then, it's a free country. Just don't take anyone along for the ride who isn't as informed as you are. And if you do screw up.... well sorry but you knew the risks, i just hope your society, friends and family can help you out of the hole you dug for yourself.

And if there are some bleeding hearts out there that say it started small and ended in addiction. Well sorry about that, but you can always say .... NO. Which for most of us is most probably the best course of action. And i am aware of the fact that i am open to the cry of "hypocrite" as i try desperatly to quit smoking again. But hey no one held a gun to my head and i've known for years it's bad for me so....

And by "research" i mean using information from an informed source, not some guy who's brothers, friends cousin once had a friend who once took something and his dick fell off.

Since nobody's listening: I have taken X (Ecstasy) 3 times.

Now if I've lost any credibility, I don't care. I'm trying to educate, not tell other people to take drugs. If I'm violating rules and spirit of the GTF, then fine, ban me right now.

I did various drugs from the time I was 17 until 22 (I am 28, now). A good friend introduced me to it on the day before I began 12th grade. We sparked a joint that day, a few hours after watching the 1991 Belgian GP. I felt relaxed, very happy and giddy, and laughing my head off. It was a great bit of stress relief. But it didn’t take hold of me. I wasn’t looking for my next fix, I wasn’t expecting to do it again and again. But I smoked when it was available at parties, but nothing like that first time.

I didn’t touch anything for a year and a half, but soon I was hanging around others whom were smoking weed more and more often. I refused when more important things had to be done. But I noticed was smoking more often, and the high was decidedly different. It was no longer the nice, amazing feeling, it was just a little something to relax me after a day’s work.

But some of these other people were taking other things; hashish, LSD, Ecstasy, Whip-Its. One fella even smoked banana peels (I even told him it was a crock…something I had learned in school when I was about 14!) to get himself high. So I had eventually taken acid (a few times) and X three times. Acid was very crazy. If you want to talk about a loss of control, then that’s acid for you. You become a shell of a man, and you are trying to figure out the world around you. I can see how many people might get scared and paranoid after taking the drug. Your perceptions of the world is not the same after taking it, I’d venture to say.

Ecstasy is a bit of a joke. The first time I took it, I was very relaxed, very stress-free. Nothing seemed to bother me. Dancing was easy to do. (Too easy!) I thought all those rumors of not drinking enough water and Parkinson’s Disease were just urban myths. The last time I took it, I had a wonderful feeling, I was hallucinating and so relaxed I was speaking in tongues in the car ride home (I was amazed how much Spanish I had recalled!). However, the morning after the next, I was waking each morning for a week with a headache and queasiness like nothing I’d ever felt. Who the hell wants to start every day like that? Not me, thank you. I never touched another illegal drug again. I don’t even like taking aspirin unless I absolutely need it (I’ll sooner take a nap to cure a headache).

I wish I could say the same for some of my so-called “friends”. Many didn’t give a damn after I quit…they have to make sales elsewhere. I know one or two are going to be a drug dealers the rest of their life. That’s what they’ve chosen, and very little will ever get them to change. They are always going to be paranoid, always fearful of the law, and always doing something illegal. That’s what they have to live with.

Another buddy has been smoking weed consistently for about 8 years now. He probably smokes out about 3-4 days a week. And he doesn’t listen. Fortunately, he hasn’t done anything harder for years, but his arguments for continuing to smoke are transparent, useless, and absurd. He really believes he must smoke (whines about a “back injury” that happened in ‘95) and there is nothing wrong with it. I convince him to quit, but my questioning really bothers him. About every other month I plead with him, as only a good friend can, but he continues to do it. He’s an adult, so I let him be with his decisions. I told him I’d help him as long as he quits, but so far, no good.

There are others: Some “kids” I know persistently take drugs, and they are far worse off. They won’t hang out with anyone who doesn’t do drugs. They are so far gone, so trapped. And they created the trap. They don’t know of any other culture than drugs. They think they are better off, but it’s all delusional theories behind all their nonsense. They are addicted.

So I’ll wrap this up by saying: Don’t do drugs. Even though the first few times may not harm a thing, you will get wrapped up with people you don’t like, will start to change your lifestyle in a most assuredly negative way, and will see your good friends change largely for the worse. I’m not for “criminalizing” drugs, I’m for sensible education of drug use. And it’s very likely that drugs will have a 99-out-of-100 chance of negatively impacting your life. If you think you’re that in elite 1%, then good luck…you will need it.

In regards to Slip's "hyporite" cry, you're probably one of the best to inform people on what a real addiction is. Boom could put in a note about what alcohol can do to people as well.

The fact that you're trying to quit, you know it's bad, yet it drags you back. Tobacco is tough habit to kick. Some say it's the worst one. Kudos for recognizing the battle and stepping up to it.

Well said Slip

Pupik speaks with the wisdom of "Been there, Done that". This post won't get you banned. It in fact is a very educational and useful post. I'd like to see some of the younger crowd read it and understand it. Another well educated opinion based on first hand research and evidence. Pupik, congrats for posting this, and it was worth doing.

Well said Pupik.

Thank you Pupik that's a far, far better way of putting it!

Hope you can help your friends but they chose their own path, if they can change direction great, but don't get dragged down. I'll help anyone with any thing i can but sometimes you have to be hard and say, sorry dude, it's you or me!

Yeah, I try, but I don't confront the issue over and over again. I really do feel (in the hopless dreamer manner that I do with many virtually hopless dreamer things) he will change some day. I have seen some freinds change due to having a kid, or getting married. And they've changed for the better; I quietly how and why they've changed, and what they do to stay changed.

And, no my dick didn't fall off.

well it seems there are a few good discussions going on here. ANd yes there is a thread to discuss HONDAS. its in the auto forum. I made it alright?
