Hi,
How often should I overhaul the engine?
Thanks!

Don't quote me on that, that's just my assumption. I could be completely wrong (which wouldn't surprise me )

Sorry, incorrect. Your car's body loses rigidity with MILEAGE and mileage only. Hitting things does nothing, so don't worry about it. It should be noted that you may use the chassis refresh in GTAuto if you've put even 1 mile on your chassis, but this is a waste of money and time. Refresh the chassis and engine on a car only after thousands and thousands of miles.

The idea that hitting stuff hurts your car's rigidity is an old and disproven myth.

I'm psychic. I thought I knew the answer, but yet I learn something new from fellow GTP'ers. I'll keep my typing of answers to myself from now on I suppose.

Thanks!
One more quick question, every how long should I overhaul the engine.

Whenever you want a faster lap time.

Less often than you should search.

Really, just search "engine rebuild" or "chassis" and there will be dozens of (mostly locked) threads asking the same exact questions.

The answer is not slamming into walls, or wanting a faster lap time.

He changed the OP. He first asked about body rigidity, hence the next few responses seem to be out of place. Now he changed it to Engine Overhaul.

Ah. Either way, the answers are covered in search, and "banging into walls" is still incorrect. Kaz/PD have said a few times that damage doesn't carry over or anything. There wasn't even mechanical damage in the game at release.

Chassis and engine wear occur over time, not because of crashing.

I'm aware of that from a guy who posted about it before you. Thanks for the reiteration. :sly:

Every 2500 miles would be a good time to perform an overhaul.

Overhaul the engine when it no longer recovers to max power from an oil change alone. You might want to do an advanced search of the forums before starting a new thread, as well. This subject has been covered many times:
