Engine sounds?

Are all the engine sounds recorded for each car or just for some?
Also, did PD recorded just samples of the engines and then transpose them, like in MIDI, in game?

They did them through computer acoustics tech I believe. Thats why the MAZDA 787B sounds so realistic to the real car without suffering impurities from recorded noise.

Go to YouTube and listen to any of the videos of real cars. The GT5 sounds are the same as they have always been, fake...badly faked at that. Compare them to GT4, all they did is lower/raise the pitch or whatever. The sounds are probably made with some kind of midi device.

to be honest going from what was said, i do like more of the car sounds more, but strangely i think they sound better when watching bob drive , dont know if it has anything to do with the various exterior shots??.

It sounds okay, but the pitch is all wrong.

It also sounds like they just took a tiny sample and repeated it over and over through the rev range. Almost like a gargling sound it you get what i mean.

They got a lot of Honda engine sounds perfect though 👍

Agreed. So many people just put the racing exhaust on right away and think the car sounds funny. Little do they realize however, that the exhaust upgrades change the sound of the car. Just like they do in the real world.

I've actually stopped putting racing exhaust on some of my cars because it changes the sound.

The Pagani Zonda R sounds exactly like my fully tuned Lamborghini SuperLegga and my Ferrari 599. I don't think that each were each separately recorded. Top Gear said that the Pagani was too loud to be in major racetracks and needed headphones to speak in the car review. In the Ferrari Clarkson said the usual "Listen to that noise!".

Not really. The VTEC kick is almost nonexistent.

The ACR viper fully built has a badass idle and low rpm rumble, high rpms not so much.
