How do they get it up and then drop everyone? Only PD.
It's like that money wheel in The Price is Right and the spinning one on Wheel of Fortune. They press that button behind the scenes, "Ah, let them win one" and "Not this time you don't!". I wouldn't be surprised if someone has their lap dog touching the computer keys.

adb
Is it? I thought it's more GT related, I mean if I can play PCars2 with 30 cars, thunderstorm and it runs relatively quiet, but then doing some stuff in GT's menu screen, scapes, livery etc. it goes like a jet, wouldn't it be more software related? FWIW I have a Pro so maybe they are like that

My Pro has done that from day one and I have seen others mention it as well. Its a Pro thing.

and also working in England as I had zero issues 1st joining a Le Mans daily race before change over and a Dragon Trail garden daily race

Is it even feasible at this point for them to switch to offline functionality for basic things such as game saves, livery access, and Brand Central? I mean, none of that stuff should ever be at the mercy of a server connection. Sport Mode, lobbies, and photo/livery uploads are the only things that should be affected by something like this. You know, actual online stuff.

This has to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever witnessed in all my years of gaming. GT Sport, as much as I’ve loved it, is an unplayable pile of garbage because of this. So many core features are locked out. What a truly idiotic decision.

Very true :/

So annoying last night I was on the verge of becoming a B driver for the 1st time after a good run of results in Race B will have to try again today.

I put my PS4 in sleep mode with GT S running, so I can save my progress tomorrow :).
Same here.

Fair to say I wasn't expecting that length of downtime.
Also fair to say I was a little nervous as to how things would go after 14 hours.

I just turned on the PS4 and checked what seemed to be an unusually large amount of people signed in on my friends list.
Most were people from last night apparently still signed in, which I knew they weren't.
Not looking good.

I opened GT, had to hit the Reconnect button manually.
And all was fine. 👍
Got the message "Save Data Has Been Saved To The Server"
Checked my Garage, deleted temp. data, one more manual save to make sure, and turned the PS4 off again. :)

Mine has been running with no issues after waiting until 14:00 WIT (Western Indonesian Time, UTC+7), and immediately hopped into Race B at DTG with Gr.3 cars using the Vantage. During said race with said car, I won the race, starting from 2nd behind the polesitter in an Evo.

Definitely, on the main screen the rendering of the Bugatti in particular really loads the Pro, while the scaled back settings on the standard ps4 seem to make it not get quite as hot.
It’s nice to hear I’m not alone :D but still don’t like it, and surely it’s something that could be solved, no?

I guess I made the right call and went to bed early last night, seeing it finally came back up at 2:40 am my time.... The first time since release I did not get a single race in for a day! My back is out, can hard stand or sit, hope I can get some races in today. Ugh getting older :/

My sister and her boyfriend who know stuff said one of loud noises is the jard disk, and that's what happens when you dont have an SSD.

Hard drives don't have a fan, its definitely fan noise. To be quite honest if you can here the HDD at all you're doing well. It's like someone has started hoovering!

Ah. Mine hardly ever makes a loud fan noise. It is a new PS4 Pro though.
