Judging by all the races detailed in this thread, GT4 is smaller than GT3 :(

GT4 - total of 274 races
GT3 - total of 337 races

I guess it'll be quicker to complete GT4 than GT3

Your way off! Do you have the game yet? If so check out allllllllllllllllll the Manufacturer and Hall races, That might be more than GT3 along............

How many hours gameplay have you had roughly to get to 11%

If more than 20 hours then that would give 200 hours in total which would be pretty cool.

I agree about re-racing. Completing the game and getting 100% is great, but the best thing about racing games is their infinite replayability :)

Indeed I'm sure I'll re-race many of the championships again and again :)

Your covered, There's Cup Races still and a whole lot more!

Good, thanks I'm reassured.
Now that I think about it, I really had fun with GT3 in the Vitz cup. I suppose with GT4 that kind of races will be in the manufacturers hall or something like that ?.
RUF, BMW, Celica cups that wouild be great.
Enough now, I don't want to hijack the thread

How many laps are we looking at for the time-based races?

Do you race?
How many laps are we looking at for the time-based races?

As many as you can do in that period of time. Time based, not laps based.

May be someone who finished them can posted the laps they've done.

I was wondering because in GT2 I did the Rome 2 Hours event a few times (I was exceptionally bored) over a period of a few weeks and I was constantly doing 80-90 laps with a wide range of cars. Though one friend managed to do 140+ with an Escudo (I hate that car).

I have completed the Nurburgring 24 hour race in a 900hp~ 350z LM. I completed 200 laps, if I recall correctly.

There is no option to save mid race, not even during the 24 hour races (of which there are 3).

There is no Australian racing hall. It would be kind of pointless as there are really only 2 manufacturers.

And most (not all) of the manufacturers have their own cup races for their own cars. EG. Subaru have additional races for the WRX and the Subaru 360.

Oh, and somebody else mentioned that you can triple the game speed when in the manager view in B-Spec mode. While this is the case (you'll find it dosent actually triple the speed, it's closer to 2.5x the speed) whenever your car makes a pitstop the game will switch back to the race screen and thus normal speed.

So don't think that you can leave a 24 hour race going overnight on triple speed whilst you go to sleep, as this will only last as long as your car can last without pitting.

Also because it is relevant (I don't know if it has been posted elsewhere) to get into the Extreme hall, you need to have completed the Professional hall (and maybe also the beginner hall).

And to get into the Endurance hall you need to have completed 25% of the game.

So does this work just like GT2 where you need to go to the car manufacturer to find specific car cup races? I remember thats what took most of my time up in completing GT2 100%. I just hope theyre races with cars im actually interested in like the caterham 7 and not silly city runners like the Toyota Vits or Hyundia Getz.

And about saving in endurance races, im really disappointed as it doesnt look like PD have included the function. It would have been much more convenient with a save function, being able to play for 30mins or 3 hours in the same race. Now the only gamers that will be able to complete the 24 hour races are people with too much time on thier hands.

There IS no save function, no two ways about it.

And alot of the cup races feature 'silly city runners' like those that you've described.

What about Arcade mode?

If its the same format as GT3 then that makes

52 Tracks X 2 (Forward & Reverse) = 104

3 x Difficulty levels = 312 races PLUS GT mode...

Isn't having more tracks more important than having more races?

It seems like some people are saying "Oh no, what will I do when I get 100%? There will be nothing more to see, nothing more to do!"

To me 100% is meaningless, I am not playing to 'complete' the game, I am playing to enjoy driving various cars as fast as I can.

So do I, I play to unlock the cars that I want in order to take them out for a spin on the tracks that I like. Other than that, all the races are rather meaningless to me.

I read somewhere that GT4 has 200 races in A-Spec mode. So say for example we have "Sunday Cup: 3 races" does this count as 1 race (the actual Cup) or 3 (the events)?

That means 3 races in an event, the races are at different locations.

After doing mostly licenses since I got the game, yesterday I started with the races i GT mode. As most people I start with Sunday Cup in Beginner Hall. But I don't get to qualify, I have to start at the back of the field. In itself that is no problem, for now. And there was no qualifying for the other races in Beginner Hall either. Nore in the races i checked in Professional Hall. Isn't there qualifying for the races that are not series races, or have I accidentally answered OK to somewhere I shouldn't have done?

Only Championship races have qualifying.

Drag racing would have been viable as an online feature - you only need 2 players and the loser would have their car given to the winner...

This game just keeps getting bigger and bigger - The list is excellent but I keep wishing I hadn't read it as the surprise has gone. Mission 34 looks quite interesting...

How many Manufacturer races are there?
