Firstly 1000th thread WOOP

Anyway, has anyone been using the original Eyetoy camera with PS3 games. I remember I could get it working with the inbuilt chat in your friends list but other than that I haven't tested it.

I have not tried the original eye toy in my ps3 but I love it for the ps2. IMO, the eye toy games are much better at parties than the wii. Quick and intuitive to learn, easy to play and great for kids as young as 2-3 up thru adults and seniors.

I know that it didn't do much in the US, but with the PS3 region-free, I would love to see more done with this great perirpheral.

I actually just bought one today. Got it at around 60% off rrp so thought why not.

I didn't realize they had released any games other than a card based game for the ps3's eye toy.
Where's the ET Play and play2 in High Def?
Where's the crazy awesome Groove with DLC?

The Eye Toy and the PlayStation Eye are two different things. The Eye Toy came out for the PS2 over five years ago. The PS Eye came out for the PS3 last year.

As for games and it's many uses, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised just how many games and how many things you can do with it. It's really quite an impressive piece of kit, and very cheap for what you get.

In fact, there is a dedicated thread on GTP all about the PS Eye:

Thanks DN for clearing that up.

Like it has been mentioned somewhere on the Playstation 3 forum; I really hope that GT5 will be compatible with the Playstation Eye as a tracking device, like the TrackIR for PC-games.

I don't care what you call it, the Eye Toy mini games for ps2 were a lot of fun. Why aren't they releasing those types of games for the ps3 Eye?

I can't imagine they require alot of R&D or lead time as they were all pretty simple. It would be an easy download as well. ET Play, Play2 and Groove were also excellent ways to burn some calories..... much better than wii bowling, IMO.
