My Abernathy Farm settlement, I almost filled the bar on this one. It was quite tricky building on the uneven ground.

Good job, mines still work in progress, how did get all that material ?
Might also have been a one time occurrence.
It's more than a one time, I've had this at different settlements at different times, my first thought was there was a limit to what you can build at a time.

Seems to me that locking up Whitey Bulger hasn't made Southie any safer. :scared:

I meant that it might as well be a one time occurrence of what I described. :)
I do recall that the object that I wanted to build required 4 steel and that I only had 4 steel left.
Must say that I haven't spent a google search on it yet, to see if it's a bug or not.

Question for you Fallout-4-on-PC people...

Does it support the Xbox 360 wired controller?

I've tried keyboard/mouse and just can't get used to it. Love Skyrim using controller.

I use my Xbone controller on PC using the charge cable, works really well.

I had a few supply lines connected to Abernathy so I had well over 1000 wood and steel from other settlements, the only issue then was concrete but the older woman at Abernathy (Connie I think) sells shipments of concrete so I kept fast travelling so that her stock would replenish faster.

I'm not a fan of keyboard and mouse for gaming, don't find it as intuitive or comfortable to use.

@prisonermonkeys Have you tried travelling with a companion yet? I always have Codsworth with me and he can saw and flamethrower enemies to pieces which probably helps me quite a bit in terms of saving ammo.
I have, but I prefer to go it alone or stick with the dog. I have found that the other companions will shoot at anything that moves and draw me into firefights that I don't have the ammo for.

My approach is to send my companion in first to flush out and identify the opposition. I have a weak character with poor quality armor, so I keep my distance. Conserves ammo too.

I like the analog stick for movement on the controller, but can't aim with the right stick like I can with a mouse.
If only the game allowed you to use both at the same time...

Anyway with my custom Autohotkey script which I assign more than one key to each keypress and the arrow keys, the keyboard/mouse works well for me.
So my arrow keys now send out WSAD, and when I hold down control + arrow keys, it changes back to arrow key movements only, so I can use that to navigate the build menus

One of my side mouse button sends out Tab, and the other Escape, so I don't have to move my hands to exit the menus.

It's just the lack of consistency by Bethesda on which key does what depending on the menu...
Thank goodness for Autohotkey!

Maybe the Steam controller might be the best of both worlds - with the right side pad acting more like a mouse with your fingers

After testing some HUD mods I found the one that I am looking for except for one thing. "Ormus Immersive UI" http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/141/?tab=2&navtag=http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/ajax/modfiles/?id=141&pUp=1 I use the HUD Less Mod in the optional files. This is the best No HUD mod out there as of now. The other No HUD mods removes everything even the discover, tags and quest messages that for me is game breaking. How will I know that I did something? Rely on sound prompt? And some of them made no sense at all. There will be an interaction window/name only if you're looting multiple items but if its a single item you will not see its name. There's also a mod that you can still see the interaction window/name of every items except workshops. Why? smh...(I'm talking about No HUD mods here) My only complain on this mod is you can still see the XP bar whenever you kill an enemy. It should be just whenever we level up we can see the notification. For me it made the game look arcady. But oh well. I can't even do Power points so thanks to the modders out there. L:lol:L

Because of this I need to rely on sounds but the sound in the game sucks. No depth etc. and the dogs don't even have footsteps sounds...Why??? We need A Sound of Fallout 4 or something to enhance the immersion and really enable stealth gameplay.

I myself use the Pipware UI mod, it's very configurable.
I made my cross hair really thin/small, with only the left and right bars showing, plus all the other meters much smaller than vanilla and closer to the edge

I thought the sound design is very good in FO4... except for louder rain and thunder sounds, which I modded. And some gun sounds

plus I can't hear dog's footsteps in real life, unless they are full on sprinting on concrete, and even then it's pretty faint. You are more likely to hear them breathing.

What my current UI looks like with Pipware mod

edit - it seems Luck increases Legendary spawns ( along with difficulty level) ?

Holy ****, Luck is crazy in this game. I started with 9, but the increased spawn rate of legendary enemies has given me three pieces of 'lucky' armor, so now I'm at 15. There are routinely 2-4 legendary mobs in every dungeon now.

One of them gave me a sword that does double damage on full health, effectively doubling my sneak bonus. With Ninja capped, I've yet to find anything that can survive a sneak attack. My current record holder for biggest baddie one-shot is a Glowing Deathclaw.

Nice power and programming tutorial

What's with the "Never-Ending Double Barrel Shotgun"? I picked one up from a legendary radroach behind the Corvega Assembly Plant, and its description says that it has unlimited ammunition ... except thst it doesn't.

I think it means there's no reloading, could be wrong though

You are correct. I picked up a Unlimited Laser Rifle in University Point, and it does use ammo, but you don't have to reload.
I really want either an endless or an explosive Combat Shotgun, either would be cool as hell

How do I get rid of my - for want of a better term - wanted rating? I was trying to do the mission "Get a Clue" and decided to crack the mayor's safe to get the key. However, I got caught, and while I escaped, Nick Valentine turns on me the minute he spots me and now I can't finish the mission.

I don't think you can, do you have a save from before you cracked his safe because you'll probably have to reload it from there

Yeah, in previous games you had to wait 48 hours before coming back

Has anybody else run into the really pushy Protectron who asks "protect and serve?" as if it's the most unreasonable thing in the world to expect him to do both?

Just did the Water Treatment plant (I also turned up the difficulty to Very Hard) and now I see why you guys were talking about it so much. I didn't get to count enemies, but after a few goes I got lucky in that the suicide bombers (of which there was two) went and attacked a Radstag instead of me. I just kept sniping the Super Mutants from a distance. The real problem was inside, I think I encountered around 8+ Mirelurks and one of them was a Legendary one that mutated half way through killing it and reset its health.
While I can see how playing on this difficulty is more fun, more challenging and has more Legendary enemies to get special items off, it really does chew through the ammo. Now I know why @prisonermonkeys is having so many ammo issues. Even though I'm not at that point yet, but my Shotgun shells stockpile is dwindling and the 10mm is useless against stronger enemies. I guess I'll have to more closely investigate the .45 ammo weapons.

Edit: I might upgrade my luck to two and get the ammo scrounging perk.

ROFL - some dude got messed up by a Deathclaw, the look after getting plastic surgery!

I was using stimpacks as the deathclaw grabbed me, and probably should have killed me, so I ended up losing my head and one of my arms.

This is after i did facial reconstruction, pre-surgery there was not a skull or arm there.

That's what I did, seems the best option.
Inside a building just now, and counted 11+ Mutants detected, all above me running around screaming, like yourself need more firepower, the 10mm justs annoy's them.
