My mods i have currently (3rd play through)
lowered weapons <---- essential otherwise you're constantly being rude and pointing guns at peoples faces
easy hacking i hate the mini game on low intelligence
full dialogue interface <--- essential, i now know what my character can say. makes role playing easier!
pipboy shadows (helmet only) <-- Adds to the immersion.
P.A.M.S (sounds a lot better in headphones now)
darker nights (darkest setting) <--- makes everything more tense at night and pipboy light has a use now.
Survival rebalance ( 1x against 2 receiving)
higher settlement budget (useful used it on the castle last playthrough)
crafting workbenches (adds a lot to the game including craftable ammo like in NV)
armor modifications expanded <--- recommended it allows you to wear outfits and armour together if you don't mind clipping. you can also add armour to outfits improving the damage resistance.
wearable backpack <--- law friendly way of increasing carry load without command console or power armour
craftable travel backpack (makes the mod above craftable)

so far the games running fine on my amd setup. haven't had too many crashes.

I finished "The Lost Patrol", and in the process, I got my hands on a rocket-powered hammer to rival Mjolnir. Then I wound up taking on a Legendary Razorclaw Mirelurk - and two garden-variety mirelurks for good measure - and unfortunately suffered a massive drop in the frame rate while in VATS.

Nice. I decided to bite the bullet and buy General Chao's Revenge like you suggested (I knew it was there, it was just so darn expensive). I've been tending to use it more on enemies that don't inflict rad damage though, especially Synths when they're in small numbers given the robots damage bonus it gives. Having Codsworth around is great to go in and tank it a bit to distract the enemies for me to come up and chop them to bits!:dopey: Codsworth says funny stuff in battles.

Strong is possibly the most annoying companion in the game. He just never shuts up!

My favourite companion is a toss up between Piper or Nick Valentine, both are extremely handy in combat, and don't get in my way all too often. I want to try out Preston Garvey though, but I always keep forgetting to.

Nothing like taking care of the apparent ghoul problem at Sanctuary Hills (which amounted to a single ghoul trapped in a narrow gap between crates that I missed when I cleared Wicked Shipping way back near the beginning), only to be given another ghoul clearing task at Sanctuary Hills immediately afterwards.

It's almost as bad as being asked to clear ghouls for Tenpines Bluff at a location on the other side of the map.

Do the ' Big Dig' quest.

Came across a group of 6 Minutemen and a Dog just wandering so I followed, safety in numbers. Met two Gunners and all the Minutemen and dog died, how do I sign up with the Gunners ?

Soooo......enemies, junk and containers all respawn after time? I go back to places I'd already cleared and find new enemies or new junk and stuff in containers. Not sure if they respawned or if it's as a result of upping my difficulty a little while after starting the game.

I have not changed my difficulty, however, when I went back to Corvega, the place was full of worse guys than the first time through, and the safe behind the "Keep Out" sign was restocked. It appears to me that they all respawn, so there is an infinite source of XPs and loot.

BTW, I have a HUGE excess of water at Sanctuary, something like 29 water to 14 settlers, does anyone know why I wouldn't be getting Purified Water deposited in my Workshop? Do you need unassigned Settlers to do that?

I think the Scavenger stations do this for you, whereas the regular water supply just keeps the settlers from getting unhappy due to thirst.

.
I believe the items and enemies restock and re-spawn after 3-5 full in game days. Most Bethesda games have been like this for quite a few years. If you have dead bodies laying around, they will be full of loot again.

One tidbit I've observed is that crit shots always hit the enemy, no matter how low the chance it is. Tried this theory on a Sentry Bot's fusion core. Went at it with 1% chance of landing and it did.

I've finally gotten raids at my settlements a bit recently. At Sanctuary I got raided by Super Mutants and ghouls, and elsewhere more Super Mutants. The Sanctuary guys handled the ghouls so well they didn't even needed my help. Probably because all of them were in the center house where the workshop originally was.

I found a sinkhole today and roaming inside was a Deathclaw. I used rock formations to my advantage again and was able to take him down. Then I found out the sinkhole had a hole that lead somewhere, so I went down it (after quicksaving of course!) and found there was no way back up except through a Legendary Ghoul and a Glowing One! Using rock formations for vantage points again I eventually took them out. I did get a nice Hunter's 10mm which does 50% extra damage to all animals, not bad at all. I could have sworn I killed the Legendary Ghoul early, but after the Glowing One let off some sort of radioactive blast he was back with full health. Either that or I killed two Legendary Ghouls and couldn't find the 2nd body (believe me I looked). But according to the Wiki:

Good to know! Take out Glowing Ones first if possible!

I also got a trick but annoying piece of armour off a Legendary Super Mutant later, a Chameleon Metal leg piece that makes me turn all but invisible when I stand still in sneak mode. That's all well and good but it makes the Pip Boy screen unreadable for some dumb reason, so I took it off.:(
Yeah, I also realized that the Glowing One has an ability to resurrect it's allies.

but the pipe pistol is pretty damn useless and I haven't used it in ages because my 10mm ammo has been going good.
I'd have to disagree, With 130~ damage, 300+ range, it works extremely well. It's actually my used weapon 80% of the time.

I found a new favorite weapon this weekend;

Those were just Minutemen missions I was given rather than actual settlement raids. I've encountered five of those so far. Completed two against raiders and one for ghouls which in one case took about five seconds for me to melt a dozen guys. Failed two because I was bogged down with main missions.

I'm still waiting for my first Sanctuary Hills attack. Though with my defence system in place, it should be pretty much done and dusted by the time I've arrived.

Yep :) the side quests from the factions you destroy or become enemies will disappear but all the other events, side missions, locations are available just like from the beginning of the game.
Though I would suggest just starting again with a completely different character and go to all the places you haven't been to yet in a second playthrough. But that's my preferred way of doing it. :)

This has been a feature of the games.
With the crafting now available to do now it's needed much more and probably why Bethesda has not changed it.

I got some pretty good loot this weekend. I have 80% extra damage for pistols and 3 points into the more ammo from loot really helps.
This is my favorite gun at the moment never used shotguns till I got this. I was having trouble with a deathclaw way above my level, I went back with this and power armor but I didn't need the armor as it was dead before it reached me lol.

This started out as an auto laser but I don't use them so changed it to this. I have plenty of ammo but wasting 20-30 bullets when it only maybe needs 3 or 4 from this thing.

Finally this gun is a bit stupid. A revolver with unlimited ammo capacity:confused::confused: I think the never ending perk should be used only on laser and other energy weapons.

Oh i'll definitely be doing a second playthrough and choosing to side with a different faction to see the different side of things and see a different ending.

But to be honest Fallout is the kind of game that i don't have to start again to keep enjoying it, so exploring and tackling some of the bigger beasts of the game now i'm levelled up enough will keep me busy long enough that it will be a while till i start a new game. The beauty of this game :)

Another lighting mod "Fallout 4 Realistic Lighting" http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2764/?tab=1&navtag=http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/ajax/moddescription/?id=2764&preview=&pUp=1 It looks better than "Realistic Lights mod" imo. It really looks realistic and very sharp. The problem with this one is its a lot darker and can't achieve a bright sunny day effect. And also the orange tint on glasses and dust (smoke). But indoors and in the night, this is definitely better because it can really turn pitch black in some places. But there's something about it that doesn't feel right.

@NLxAROSA you might want to check this one.

Another quest in the Glowing Sea, another battle with many radscorpions, another Deathclaw, another damaged power armour... I hate that place.

Also didn't realise Stealth Boys were nerfed so badly :indiff:

Do you have the X-01 Power Armor?

Nope, haven't been to get it yet. I'm waiting a while, apparently it's level dependent and I'm not sure what level @ImaRobot was when he went and found a T51 instead.
I was level 20 when I went searching, which resulted in it being the T-51. I ended up finding a half complete X-01 just randomly by a derailed train the other day though, so that's a plus.
