Find an empty house. Wham you just got a house. Its not like anyone is going to come back and say HEY! YOU STOLE MY HOUSE! Its one of the many beauties of being in a post apocalyptic wasteland.

Finally got to sit down and play for a solid 2 hours and so far I'm enjoying it. I do prefer the drabness of the DC wasteland in F3 but I'm finding the monsters so much harder here. Killed a bark Scorpion but got chased by two Radiscorpions and had no chance against them. It did not end well lol. It's amazing how much fun you can have collecting rubbish to sell for weapons and ammo.

The game is terribly buggy however. Seen a floating Bighorner so far, and I also managed to get myself stuck in the side of a cliff... I'm special that way  Even so, it has not dampened my enthusiasm. I keep wanting to explore everything. I can see a few towns in the distance that I can't wait to get to.

Could you explain how to upgrade weapons and make ammo please? For the life of me I can't work it out and I've just run out of .347 ammo yet all I can do is breakdown my one remaining bullet but I can't fabricate any.

Side note: The patch fixed my game ending glitch 👍
Protip: Check out the edges of the random ridges and mountains. I found a little cave that was full of XP boosting gecko's. I hardly fired a bullet as my helper did all the work.

Upgrading weapons all you have to do is buy the part. You open the pip-boy and press I think its L2 and you go to a new page where you select what you want to put on from what you have. Just make sure you save before hand. I haven't found that many weapons glitch after putting stuff on them other than my 10mm but better safe than sorry like me.

As for ammo I think thats a bit harder. You can break down electric ammo and turn it into other electric ammo pretty easy but when it comes to regular ammo I think you need to buy stuff along with what you get from breaking down. I broke down a lot of my ammo at first but I couldn't make anything either. Also its very important to make sure you have the right skills to do what you are trying to do. If you see that you need science 50 but your science skill is only 25 it will say science 25/50 showing that you don't have the correct skills. It also matters what you break down. You can't make rifle ammo out of just pistol ammo.

I just found an XP glitch. If you do one of the missions for the atomic wrangler you can recruit two people for the same job. If you do that you can keep asking the other if they want to do the job and by passing the speech check you get 50xp each time. This also works for getting 50 speech successes.

Had a few hours today...

Currently in the Outpost with the big statues!!

Keep forgetting to save often enough - wasted a good 90 minutes by dieing and needing to redo what I'd done!!

I've found "Secret Valley" - but can't enter it cos I need 100 lockpick - that's gonna take a few levels to get to!!! I wonder what's hiding in there!!

I'm finding (so far) that I'm only getting single shot weapons (I do have a 10mil Sub machine gun) - can't wait to get more automatic weaponry!! - I came across a Feral Reaver - and he killed me about 5 times - decided to bin that off and go a different way.

Oh - and amusing that the Eyebot can carry more than I can right now!!

I prefer french dressing myself.

But yeah I can't put the game down.

I don't want to know!

Just make sure you save before going into the bunkers. One of them has a surprise inside.

BTW I did the funniest thing earlier. I found a mother deathclaw with deathclaw babies. I couldn't help but kill them.

Tonight I will be doing the Fly mission which people have been having the freeze issue with on smoxbox, so I will find out if I have it or not. Doesn't really matter though because I have to take the game back tomorrow anyways.

Oh well i got my caps back by selling those dinosaur souvenirs. p.s. where is a house at.

If you do a good job at Novak you'll be gifted a residence and a VERY helpful companion. My Novak status is 'idolised'

I went through my stuff last night and I have almost 5 000 caps in 'cash' and over 20 000 caps in goods. Lots of Legion and NCR armour, a sword worth 999 caps, 7 hits of C4 valued at 999 caps each, 8 service rifles in perfect condition at 700 caps each etc. I haven't even been to Vegas yet.

I also have the schematics for a NCR dogtag gun/weapon.

Just wait until you get to the gun runners. They sell some serious guns and armor. I've got several guns worth 5000+ each and my armor/helmet is worth over 9000 caps.

I've found one arms dealer at the 188 (I think) freeway intersection but they had nothing really useful except my first gun modification ;). Everywhere I go tho I'm getting ripped off by merchants by about 40% even though my barter is > 40. If I go to Primm I get the exact value of my stuff but the guys only ever got 300ish caps.

Yeah I ditched her

She's nowhere near as helpful in battle as my Novak follower and I still can't craft anything.

I think she is somewhat helpful. Having a connection to the BOS saved me the harsh introduction the second time around. She doesn't seem to want to use any weapons I give her though. Still shes more help than ED-E was.

Oh you got that robot working? Try and finish the Novak missions. That follower is awesome.

I've finally hit Vegas/freeside. I came in through the north. Apparently you can hire bodyguards but I'm sticking with my guy..

The sniper in the dino? I haven't bothered to spend more than 5 minutes in novak really.

Getting the robot working was easy. Just a few spare parts. Its cute I guess but it annoys the hell out of me. It gives you insane perception so you see enemies over in the next state and every time it sees one it plays a loud song letting them know you're there.

The guy in Novak literally kills every animal without me wasting any shots and I still collect the XP. He shoots at humanish enemies but I generally have to put at least 1 bullet in.

Oh and he can't die. His health ran out against a preying mantis of all things (he got stuck) and I got a little notification "_______ is unconscious" and then 10 seconds later he's back up and on full health  He's hugely powerful to have.

All companions on non-hardcore can't be killed. They can only be killed on hardcore. The amount of times I've seen _____ is unconscious is uncountable. They usually just run off on me and kill things I dont even see because I'm all the way down the road already. If nothing else a companion makes a good distraction for tougher enemies so I can run away...

Hey guys, does anyone know if you can use the VR Simulator in the Nellis AFB? It says i need an access code for it, but i have no idea where to find it.

I'm going to pick this game up tomorrow after I get done with work. Seeing how I've never played a Fallout game, is there anything I should know?
