I think I remember seeing the firmware posted on the insidesimracing forums. I'm not registered but was browsing.. You have to connect your wheel to your computer to do it. My csr came with latest firmware so I didn't have to do it.. you can email tech support and get it from them too

And you know how he did this? He purchased a couple hundred of the same mercedes. In the state of California, you can go 6 months on a new car without having to put plates on it. So, every 6 months, he would sell the one he was driving, and register one of his 100 in a shed. Thus, never needing to put a plate on his car. I am not kidding, look it up. That is a definition of wealth.

He leased the cars, which probably worked out well for Steve and the leasing company. I imagine it's pretty easy to sell a used, low mileage Mercedes when you can say Steve Jobs' butt was in that very seat.

You're forgetting CSP V2 (unconfirmed pedals) and CSHB. But nah, not much rumors. Other then that I know they'll arrive when they arrive and all of them most likely.
As you know Thomas said on his blog or in an interview video on youtube (I think) that he wants to release everything one after another. So I reckon after the CSW launch we get the CSP V2 (since pedal release were also at the same time with the CSR and CSR Elite wheels) then the CSS and then the CSHB. After that he will make some new wheels most likely.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the release order at least. Which means by the time the CSHB is released it's already June/July at least.

I really hope those CSP V2 will be available as an upgrade pack (parts only) and not only as a complete set of pedals.

I don't know if there will be an upgrade kit. Looking at that early model on the blog of that Japanese guy you need almost everything new except for the bars the pedals and loadcell etc pivot on.

well, I don´t need the black pedals. The brake damper, and the clutch mechanism would be great for a pack:)

While that sounds great it probably wont be the case. Its like any other product that gets updated. You dont expect new parts for your tv because they came out with a better model. Its basicaly the same thing fanatec just upgraded an old model. Samething happened with g25 g27.

When the GT3 wheel was updated to the v2 Fanatec sold an upgrade kit for v1 purchasers. Everyone is hoping Fanatec keeps up it's tradition of NOT screwing its loyal customers who recently purchased the CSP.

I understand your point, but you bought a product that does whats advertised. If they come out with a newer version and dont offer a upgrade kit you cant consider yourself being screwed.

Sales and demand would drive the decision. If fanatec can't keep v.2 in stock, don't expect an upgrade kit anytime near the pedal set release.
Demand I'm sure would be high enough to make an upgrade kit a viable option. For one, I would buy an upgrade kit no question, but couldn't justify purchasing a whole new pedal set.

I suppose you're right. Unfortunately, I think the vast majority of CSP owners, including myself, agree with this, so I won't be getting v2's unless there is an upgrade kit.

As we all new.... Kind of.

CSP V2.0 have now been confirmed!

As we saw in the ISR video! Even though ISR were not meant to show them!

Full story is on sonacs site. Here you see Thomas's confirmation

No more Fanatec products for them... :dunce::dunce::dunce: that could ruin Fanatec marketing strategy... didnt they sign an agreement of some sorts not to disclose any info upon receaving the pedals?

I wouldn't know. Probably not baring in mind Thomas trusted them.

Now that people have seen them they might hold off buying the Clubsport V1 that Thomas has in stock and wait for the V2 and Thomas might be waiting to sell the ones that he has on stock to release the V2 and eventually go bankrupt because he doesnt sell the V1 and cant release the V2... Geeezzz... what have they done (ISR)... Im kidding but it was very irresponsible from their part.

The smart move is to offer a new set and both an upgrade kit for the thousands of CSP already sold. Hopefully also a new board and simple switch for inverting the pedals will be included.

ISR means very little to Fanatec. I mean it is just one site and show. But ISR does wrong for themselves if they stop reviewing fanatec products. Independent review sites buy their review products if manufacturer won't give products for review.

As for the "shenanigans" it think everybody should read what was posted to f-wheel.com before blaming Thomas or Fanatec to hear the other side of the story.

I dont mean it like you understood it... I mean the fact that ISR showed the Pedals before it was time could ruin Fanatecs strategy towards the marketing of the clubsports V2.... I know that Fanatec could care less about ISR. I myself enjoy more watching the videos from TeamVVV (VVVgamer) than ISR videos... at least he buys his own gear and doesnt sound like he thinks that he knows it all.

On the next episode of "When Keepin it real Goes Wrong"...................

But, back to topic. I am hoping all of the silence from Thomas/Fanatec leads to us seeing all CSW, CSS, CSH, CSP V2 @ the same time(fingers crossed of course). Purely speculating on my part, but wouldn't that be great!

My finances might be getting crunched in the near future I feel. Good to still be single on that note..........:sly:

If you take into account that fanatec has lowered the price point of CSR lineup, simultaneous release would make sense. However that would be a epic leap for fanatec, a company with limited resources. I actually am more looking forward for a CSS. I have only used the standard shifter on and broken one of those, so I am ready for something up to same level of quality of the fanatec wheels.

Well one thing that could happen now is that Thomas will have to up the price of the V2's above the V1 price point to get rid of the old stock of V1's. Although he might still cut himself so to speak as well, as people will either just wait (and maybe buy cheaper pedals for the time being, which could result in them losing interest in CSP's) or go for the more expensive V2's and thus resulting him still being stuck with the stock of V1's.

Im pretty sure they wont be reviewing any Fanatec products in the near future... unless a friend lends them one because I dont see them buying any gear...

Jesus 15 years in sim racing and he won his first race aided by a great car setup someone gave him and he makes it sound like hes the SimMeister himself...

EDIT: I think the Biased reviewer that only plays GT5 on bumper cam that he is talking about is either Mr Latte or LogiForce :D :D :D just kidding

The Clubsports are so Solid, I think even with the V2 coming down the road, you can keep the V1 @ $200, and they would still sell like "hotcakes". Those pedals(V1) are constructed to a value, in my opinion of course, $250-350. So, the V2 should be around that point and V1 still @ 200. The CSP's will continue to sell V1 or V2. Heck, you can't even get them in the states right now. And, I know many are clamoring for them.

This should be interesting, and I hope I get to be a part of it all. That would be neat! I know Thomas parses our speculation. Just make sure you(Thomas) are elated with what you made. If you are not satisfied to the fullest extent, then go back, which you have with the CSW, and that is great to see!

I'm not sure why people like Darin and "PAPA" don't just get over their bias of both products. The Elite is a great wheel, same with the T500RS.

Speaking of Darin's post, there's going to be Clubsport V2's? I thought that was just speculation? I've really been gone for a while. Take a few days absence and the world changes! I would definitely buy an upgrade kit for them, but I don't think I could justify another 200-however much it is for another pedal set when mine works just fine. I hope you decide to make an upgrade kit for current CSP users Thomas!
