So lets wait and see what they say about the final products, there was at least one reviewer that had some issues with the Elite wheel.

Quoting the fanatec basher.... 💡 👍 :sly:

if i encounter any problems I will email them to check if its fixable... and if it isn't i'll post..

And are you going to bother to address my point about Darins 180 degree spin in regard to the CSR Elite or will you continue to ignore it as it doesn't suite your argument?.

The only point is I see is someone that has had his feelings hurt because Darin quit working at Fanatic and said something negative about Fanatic?

Please, take your argument over to Darin at ISR, maybe he can answer your question which is What?

I'm a bit out of the loop with the Darin, Thomas thing.

As I can not access Iracing forums and only get interwebz info on it could anyone please tell me why he left the company?

Edit redmalloc.

Previous Fanatec wheels hit a stop when adjusted on the wheel LED.

I would imagine its the same mate.

Different wheels handle this in different ways. I am asking about the CSRE if it isn't obvious. You do not have one so how do you know?

because on one of the videos (gamescom) you see thomas turn the CSW and the thing inside moves to the end of the casing.. meaning it cannot go any further. It is physically impossible to go further

And you wondered why Darin never answered your questions? (lol)

He did... until his last day?

his last email said someone else was taking over then I emailed back and didn't get a reply... guessing when he left fanatec 👍

That is interesting because to me it looked like it did not go to the end of the travel. Or at least the one I am thinking of. That was partly why I asked the question.

Anyway, that answered my questions. Thanks.

I can not believe what you guys are saying here, do any of you even have a clue what happened in the story regarding Darin when he talks about taking off the mask?

Do you know it's one thing to talk smack about a company then it is to talk smack about a person?

Some of you guys should be embarrassed about talking this way to Darin, sure there was a conflict of interest when he went to work for Fanatec and Thomas was upset when he quit.

Darin and the staff at ISR are about the most honest and unbiased in sim racing you will find.

I took back what I said about that link two posts later. I can't believe you missed that.

Also about talking about companies and persons. Darin owns 50% of ISR and is thus as a person very much related to that company. Just like Thomas is to his or Steve Jobs was to Apple, or Bill Gates to Microsoft.
Whatever you do wrong as a figure head of a company in public will be criticized, especially if it's something like what currently happens. And also it was Darin his choice to go and vent himself in public like he did. It is far from professional but even so when prior to take such an action he should have realized the consequences.

If you think Darin is still unbiased then do some proper research is all I am saying. Also if honesty is speaking ones mind without second thought, then you are free to believe this. However I tend to disagree and you disagree with me. So let's just agree to disagree, I already pulled my last statement earlier.
Again being in the spotlight and representing a company has it's pro's and con's. The biggest con is that you'll be watched for your every move and decision and if there is a wrong one people will talk about it, good or bad talk.

Oh and taking off the mask?

I'm Christiaan Patrick Eddy van Beilen, born on February-22-1986 in Groningen, The Netherlands where I still live. Nice to meet you. ;)
Also a google on my nickname should suffice to find this info about me I reckon. After all, I still have my domain name logiforce.net which you could whois search to make sure I am who I am. The website is currently down though.

I think that is their business, I don't know why amf7 went out of his way to try to disgrace Darin, any one else have a problem with Darin why don't you Man up and ask him yourselfs.

I didn't publish the bad stuff ;) I showed an argument that was front page on virtualr a while a go and is still part of it..

I couldn't give a stuff that he left Fanatec, just like I couldn't give a stuff when he worked for them. And I would have no problem with him having negative things to say about the CSR Elite if that had always been his stance. But it hasn't, that's why I have an issue with his current behaviour.

My question is simple. If you, left888, think Darin is such an honest stand up guy, how do you explain the complete reversal of his opinion on the CSR Elite since leaving Fanatec? There you go very simple, have you got an answer?

And I did try and put that question to him today but every time I try and register over at ISR I get a message saying they think one of my answers is spam. I would be more than happy for you to put the question to him on my behalf. And just so he doesn't think I am hiding behind a mask you can tell him my name is Neil Farren.

Logi I did see your correction and apologize you are one of the good guys here.

Like I said I don't always agree with what Darin says but I stand behing my remarks when I say he is unbiased.

What really gets me are these childish remarks people are making about him here, I say go talk to Darin if you have a problem with him.

Well Neil, I had no problem registering there and if I can do it anyone can. (lol) Go back and change your answer that ISR seems to think is spam, get registered and ask him. You are the one that says he did a 180, ask him yourself.

As far as a complete reversal I did not see any complete reversal, please show me this complete reversal.

TBH with all of you I don't think we will ever know why Darin left his job.

That's why I'm keeping an open mind over it all and may them both continue there respective careers.

Would like to see them at least get on a d forget the past but sometimes it may have gone to far.

Good luck to the pair of them.

I think it was a bad thing you did, despicable bringing up someone else argument. Whats wrong with you?

I have no problem with him personally. Also there was an issue I had with him/ISR about the squeak Fanatec/ISR bashing video on youtube (which has been removed by ISR request) which they made a remark on, and I replied to that remark. So they have got a message in their inbox about that.

For the rest I just voiced my opinion about the guy's actions, which I am willing to say to him in a mail. However I am sure he reads GTP, so that'll suffice to get the message across. Also he made this all public, so I don't know what I can't voice my opinions about his actions in public.
The only problem I have with them is that I question the credibility of Darin as an employee/owner of ISR. Plus all of the ISR staff being close friends and influencing each other, I decided that I personally will avoid their videos for at least the near future and get my reviews from somewhere else. You guys for example. ;)

Whether or not you think there are biases going forward (or that there were in the past), you'll be missing out. ISR's videos are lengthy and show the wheels in extended action. I say keep them in your rotation, but sample a variety of opinions. No one reviewer is the authority.

Look at any of the episodes before or whilst he worked for Fanatec an you will see his face light up whenever he mentioned the elite, he couldn't have been more complimentary. Now compare that to his comments in the thread on ISR at the moment. As I said poles apart. And believe me I spent around an hour trying to register over there this morning with three different email addresses and I made sure all of the info was correct.

Well it's a shame Darin has stated they won't be reviewing any Fanatec products in the future. That's one less opinion to consider.

I don't need them in my rotation as I am sure videos about them will be posted about and if I feel like it i'll click on them occasionally, also if I search for something in particular at a certain time I can always decide to look at a video of theirs if it pops up. For now I have cancelled my youtube subscription at least.

OK, let's compare the before and after. What did Darin say before that is drastically different to now? No rush, I'll check back tomorrow. Please provide the links and the approximate time in the videos.

Indeed, was just about to post the same. 'an amazing wheel, you're not going to get anything better on the Xbox 360'. No mention of, 'you like the button placement or plastic rim?' or 'is the hub still coming loose?' or 'curious if the FFB/damper has been fixed on it and all fanatec wheels on pc?' or 'how's the documentation?'. All things posted by him on ISR on December 14th. If he really felt that way about it why did he call it 'an amazing wheel' and not make any mention of these faults. His opinions before and after are a total contradiction. How can you call him an honest person with that in mind?
